Newest addition to this area - grand opened in the first week of Nov 2021. I've actually never been…read moreto one since it dropped the "Coat Factory" from its name. Well really the only Burlington I've been to was the very one in, ahem, Burlington NJ. I visited this newest one upon the urge of wifey who touted it as having great deals. The parking lot - wow was it packed! Nothing like when it was Kmart or even Stein Mart! Exterior appeared quite respectable. As soon as I entered, however, the impression dropped a couple of notches. How do I describe it. The floor wasn't tiled, the lighting was meh, and the bulk of the floor space was occupied by rolling racks. It did carry a wide range of merchandise, and the prices were indeed very cheap and affordable. It felt like a slightly bigger Ross / TJ Maxx, but cheaper and dumpier. So it was a bit of mixed feeling. I mean, $12.99 for a pair of American Eagle khaki pants and $3.99 for a kitchen mesh strainer. Yes, I would come back for bargain hunting but not for the shopping experience.

I went to Burlington in Mechanicsburg at 8:50 pm. The sign on the door said that the store was open…read moreuntil 10 pm. At 9:20 an announcement was made that the store was closing in 20 minutes and customers should take their selections to the front to check out. I had a few things to try on. I went to the dressing rooms but they were both locked. I went up to the checkout where a very helpful employee was working. I asked if I had to get someone to unlock the dressing room. He said it should not have been locked and maybe the last customer accidentally locked it on their way out. He said he would be right over to unlock it for me. He let me and another customer into the dressing rooms. As I was trying the items on, I heard another worker very loudly complaining about "being so damn sick of this place" and wanting to close the store right then. It was only about 9:22 at that point. Then he started pounding on the dressing room next to mine and telling the women inside that she needed to get out because the dressing room was closed. I finished up quickly and took my selections to the front to pay. The man who was pounding on the dressing room door came up and opened another cash register. He said he could check me out. When I went up to his register, he asked how I was. I said "good, thanks. It sounds like you are ready to get out of here." He said "Well, yeah, we are understaffed, its Saturday night and there are just two of us here." I said, "I am sorry that it sounds like you aren't enjoying your job". He said "I am just sick and tired of people leaving shit in the dressing rooms." I said "you are being rather rude." He said "I don't give a shit what you think." I said "obviously." The time on my receipt said it was 9:26 when I checked out. After I paid, I went over to the nicer more helpful cashier and asked if he was the manager, since he was much more professional, I assumed he was. He said he was not but asked if there was something he could help me with. Then the rude cashier said "that would be me honey". I asked what the store number was. They both told me that they didn't know. The rude manager, Nathan, then said " you heard the announcement that the dressing room was closed and you went in anyhow." I said I did not hear that it was closed, I heard that the store would close in 20 minutes. He said "then maybe you ought to pay closer attention". I am shocked that a store manager would treat customers this way. And why was the store closing well before the posted closing time. I filed a complaint with Burlington on-line. No one seemed to care.
