TJ Maxx is one of those stores where it's like a little adventure. You never know what you're going to find there and if you see something that you really like, grab it because it might not be there next time you go. This particular location is bigger than the other one in SCV. The selection is good on some items. However when I was looking for some items for my daughter who is under 10 there weren't a lot of options. It's also fun to look at their food items because they have a lot of unique finds. The only thing is the pricing is a bit wonky because sometimes you only save $1 or so from regular retail. read more

I made a stop Saturday afternoon to make a return. As I walked in, there was a long line already curved around the book section. Luckily, there were three or four cashiers and the line moved along well. The cashier asked if anything wrong with my items, I said they didn't fit. She just continued to scan, then when she couldn't find a tag in one of the pants, I told her it should be there, and sure enough she found it. The way she came at me made me feel awkward, like if I was lying lol. Once my return transaction was complete, I said thank you have a good one and she just ignored me. The store where you literally have to shop till you drop! You gotta dig to find those hidden gems but every now and again you'll find something you've been searching for right in plain sight. The prices are always good, deals on deals.. esp when you hit up the clearance section of the store. Lots of options for women then there is for kids or men. A good amount of home and a big section of beauty. The jewelry counter always has some good finds in it as well as the more expensive designer behind the locked cabinet. read more

This is a store that has something for everyone. Pots & pans, toys, shelf paper that is scented, jewelry, clothes and a lot more. The girl who served us was Aubrey E. She had been there all day yet she kept her composure and grace even when dealing with people who were difficult. I recently had a great experience buying perfume at another location, but unfortunately, this visit was the opposite. I needed to return something, but when I walked in, there were at least 40 people in line--no exaggeration. I absolutely love TJ Maxx, but this is my least favorite store. There's never many great products, the store is always a mess and the management is terrible. They only ever have two or three people max at the register and there's a line of customers waiting forever out the door. As a woman that has owned a chain of clothing stores in the past, I have to say that this is truly unfortunate. Tj Maxx should be providing better service, products and care for their clients that's the bottom line. read more

I haven't been to this location for a while now, it sure looks great! Tons of different options and great sales! Holiday headquarters there too! I had an awesome experience from the ladies in the jewelry department! Wow! I was actually able to checkout all of my purchases there rather than waiting in the long line! That was such a relief! I noticed the store was packed and wanted to take more photos but there were lots of shoppers taking advantage of the awesome deals on various merchandise, maybe another day! On Sunday October 19th I returned a hair curler with a receipt that came with 5 attachments. The main attachment which was the air curler and didn't work at all. I wanted to exchange it for another one but they didn't have another one. I explained it to the cashier and she called over a manager by the name of Sherri for approval. Sherri was the rudest manager I have ever encountered in my entire life. The store was packed, so the line was very long!! She picked up the brush attachment and LOUDLY said " it's used, I'm not taking it back". I said "of course I used it to try it, but the one air attachment doesn't work, please plug it in and see for yourself". She picked it up with two fingers and made a horrible face as if she was disgusted and said "it has a hair on it, you didn't even clean it". MY MISTAKE lady, she felt the need to announce it to everyone. I wasn't about to lose $60.00 over an item that was defective, so my husband nicely said to her "that's not fair to get stuck with something that doesn't work". I go to this store about twice a week (religiously) and have spent thousands, and to be treated that way is completely unacceptable. I'm a hiring mgr., and I would be appalled to have someone in my team like her. read more

The lines are too long, I was by the toys in line, but they go by faster than the valencia location. The staff is friendly and the cashiers, Elaina and Marie, were very helpful and fast. The young cashier helped me pick a purse my daughter would like best since she looked around her age, and she loved it. Usually I hate coming to this location because of past experiences, but all the staff were very nice today, especially the young lady that helped me take purses to the front, though I did not get her name. read more

TJ Maxx kind of reminds me of a lower end version of Nordstrom Rack. Both sell designer brands and both have similar store layouts but the difference is TJ Maxx is more affordable. I'm not a frequent shopper at TJ Maxx but since there is a location close to home now, I might visit more frequently. The store is very clean and well organized. Went in today to process a return, the cashier who helped me (Nana M.) proceeded to smell the shirt I returned as if it was dirty or smelly. The shirt was unworn with the tag still attached and I presented her my receipt. As she proceeded with my return she asked me to swipe my card. I asked her if I can see the receipt so I can put it back to the card I initially purchased it with, she refused to give me the receipt and assertively asked me to swipe my card. I asked her again if I can see the receipt, not sure why she refused to show me my own receipt. Throughout the whole transaction she was unfriendly and rude. Not so customer service like. read more

Crappy. I found some super cute hand towels on clearance and they were the only ones left in the store, a little messed up and snagged. I take it to the register and they tell me that it's not "actually on clearance", she didn't even scan the item. I asked what they meant and they said the numbers on the barcode tags were not the same. The cashier didn't even ask if I still wanted to buy it, she gave the towels to another employee and she repriced the item entirely. The cashier tells me they're $17 instead of $6. Both cashiers had complete attitude and every time I tried to talk, they cut me off and started talking to each other. If you guys labeled it incorrectly then that's not on me? Employees are the rudest ever. I returned 2 items and the manager sat there and inspected it and then said it was used. It was hair spray. She looked at the cap and said it looked used. Joke !! Julie from fitting room was very rude towards me and my mother, right from the start we were nice with her and when we asked for rooms she felt the need to sigh and roll her eyes and once we were in our fitting rooms I overheard her telling another associate how people annoy her and how much she hates working there and stuff. Once I got out with my clothes that I didn't want Julie snatches them from me and I confront her with "Why are you snatching and being disrespectful towards my mom and I? Also I heard you talking about us and I know you were referring to me and my mom" so then Julie wants to catch an attitude and the other associate who she spoke to us about, if I remember correctly her name was Francis. They're both unprofessional and I went to speak to Elva the manager and she acted like she didn't care then this older looking woman with gray hair named Nancy came in to hear my concern and they both walked off not caring about their associates being rude to the guests. I'll never come back here again and I almost forgot to mention that when my mother was done with her clothes Julie also snatched them from my mother which nearly set me off but, I chose to be the better person. This location is great. It's not the best TJ Max I've ever visited but it's a close second. They all sorts of things from kid toys to pots, pans, and jewelry. It's a great location to checkout, with lots of other great stores nearby like Target, Kohls, the Habit. You can't go wrong. read more

On Friday 4/7, I was shopping for a bench and Nancy (last name unknown and possibly a manager) went in the back and looked for some additional benches for me. She was extremely helpful, very courteous and personable. I left and went to Home Goods and returned to buy the bench that I initially couldn't decide on. Again, she remained friendly and helpful and I have never been treated so wonderful. Her attitude helped to seal the deal for me. There should be 10 more Nancy's in the store. TJMaxx, July 1, 2020 I'm writing this letter to inform of my experience on 7/1/2020 at approximately 3:30pm at the Santa Clarita store located at: 19211 Golden Valley Road, Santa Clarita, CA, 91387. While standing in a relatively long line I noticed the lady in front of me wasn't wearing a mask. I didn't want to say anything to her myself so I went and informed an employee about this. I don't know this employees name but she told me she would go and look but that she could only offer her a mask. So, I went and stood back in line and that's when the employee came over and asked the lady if she needed a mask. Of course, the lady said no because she already had one. The employee then walked away without EVER asking this lady to put her mask on. So, this lady continued to stand in line without ever putting her mask on. Because your employees refused to tell this lady to put her mask on. Finally, I said to the lady she should really put her mask on. She of course informs me she can't wear one because it makes her dizzy. That's when I informed her I'm a Registered Nurse and I wear an N95 for 12 hours a day, she can wear a cloth mask for 10 minutes. As a nurse, I have seen the darkness of Covid-19. The stuff that you will never hear about on the news. I had to call a family and tell them to say everything they wanted to say to their mother because we were about to intubate her and place her on life support. I cried into my N95 as I watched these daughters cry to their mother and say their goodbyes. She died 15 days later. I had to call another family to let them know their grandfather had just died from Covid-19. A nurse I worked with died, along with her mother and father. She left behind a 22-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son. They have no family now. I took care of a man for two weeks who eventually died, not knowing that he was the husband to the cleaning lady at my mother's work. Not only are these people dying, but they're dying alone because the hospitals won't allow family to come visit in order to prevent Covid-19 from spreading. I cry on my way to work, and I cry on my way home. On my lunch breaks I call my mom and cry to her. I question if I can even be a nurse anymore. Covid-19 has taken a tremendous toll on not only myself and other nurses, but everyone in healthcare. You see, it's not just the fact that someone can't wear a cloth mask for 10 minutes while healthcare workers wear one for 12 hours a day that bothers me, it's the fact that the store employees refused to enforce what is mandated by California. The employees refused to tell this lady to wear a mask. Essentially supporting the spread of Covid-19 and putting everyone in that store in danger. Which only means more people will continue to die, and us healthcare workers will continue to witness and suffer through this even longer. Especially with how high the numbers have increased recently, now is the time more than ever to enforce a mask policy. Needless to say, I put everything back that I was planning to purchase. I also don't think I will ever return to shop at a TJ-Maxx or any affiliated store ever again. It doesn't appear this company has any commitment what so ever to ending this pandemic. That is not a company that I as a nurse will support. I imagine other nurses will feel the same way. Nurses are a very tightknit community. I'm extremely disappointed, I used to love shopping here. I recently shopped at this TJ Maxx location, but was hesitant based on previous reviews. My experience was the opposite of everyone else's - the employees were friendly and the selection was great for what I was looking for (tops for spring and summer). The other customers that I saw were wearing masks, too, and were generally adhering to store guidelines. All in all, I will continue to shop at this location. read more

Employees at this location on Golden Valley Road should really enforce customers to wear a mask! I walked in the other day to shop, but noticed a few customers not wearing their masks. I informed an employee, and she just shrugged and said, "I can only offer them a mask". That was an epic fail since the two customers refused, one of them stating they have health issues preventing them from wearing a mask and the other one stating that she's "claustrophobic". And that was it. Employee walked away. Unacceptable! I hope management is reading this and does something about this. I have to wear my N95 respirator AND a surgical mask over my N95 for for my entire 12 hour shift. These people can certainly wear a mask for 10 minutes to 45 minutes while shopping. read more

Worst store ever. Employees are so trash!!! Be careful with what you buy and keep an eye out for everything because they will not put every single thing you buy in your shopping bag. Returned more than one thing from separate receipts and did it three times with multiple issues in between. So unprofessional and will you give you a headache. At first I had mixed feelings about this location. It being the replacement for the location on Soledad vs an addition. As all stores like this it's a hit or miss if you will find what you're looking for or fancy. Most times this location is a miss especially in the clothing department unlike the Soledad location. It's a bigger store but doesn't always seem to have a larger selection of hit items. Parking is definitely better. And the staff is always super friendly and helpful I think out of any tj max I have ever been to. Overall it's a good experience read more

My issue isn't with the costumers or the employees. In fact, the employees have always been kind. It's also a very clean store (but I would expect that considering they haven't been open long). My complaint is that the selection is horrible. There is no clothing for young girls, the women's is the bottom of the barrel options, kids/men's shoes is almost non existent. There's just nothing to choose from. Such a disappointment since I was really waiting for the grand opening of this location but I will stick to driving across town to the other location. read more
