We had a fantastic experience - the first positive thing to happen after a sump pump failure saturated our entire finished basement. Our call was taken at around midnight (left a voicemail). Got a return call within 15 minutes, letting us know a window of when we could expect somebody out the next day. Kurt was at our door by 8:30. He quickly rushed downstairs (and then outside, through deep snow) to assess and was able to stop the water intruding any further (coming in through the top of the sump pit). We were able get the pit drained and through further investigation realized that the sump pump needed to be replaced. The current unit was not, shall we say, very current in the literal sense of the word (I believe it had vintage 70's Sears logos on it). We're new homeowners, so this was a very enlightening experience for us. =========================== I was there with him when we opened the pump pit, and I saw the pump making all kinds of weird gurgling, sputtering noises (and not healthy, draining type of noises... weird electrical noises). First, we had to drain the sump pit, which was accomplished quickly by replacing the quasi-frozen drainpipe outside. Then, upon examination presented several options and their respective pricing in a straightforward, easy-to-understand way. I live at the bottom of a slope, about 200 yards from a lake. There's a lot of water making its way past my house because, you know, gravity is a thing. I don't want this thing repeating itself every other year or so. I went with the robust system. Kurt was on the phone quick with HQ, they got the equipment here extremely fast, and he was right on it. Old pump came out (Kurt showed me that it really was an electrical issue with the float on the pump), new pump went in, pvc got built cleanly, and in a very aesthetic, out-of the way manner. It was good-quality work - and there wasn't a second where he wasn't actively engaged in improving the situation. He even finished an hour early (arrived at 8:30 and was done and cleaned up and had said goodbye by 1:00). In a time of real stress (my basement had just flooded and I had spent the last night with a wet-dry vac emptying floor water into a laundry sink in 2-3 gallon increments), it really helped that Kurt had a sense of humor and that he could sympathize with our situation, and that he was someone who delivered on what he promised (and then some, considering the quality of work). He was great with our three dogs, who we kept out of the way as much as possible, but who, after everything was settled and Kurt was engaged in the building out of the system, also came to say hello at different points in the morning as he went inside and out. tl;dr highly recommend - superior service with fair pricing The original plumbing in my home (built 1974) has been sprouting leaks pretty frequently over the last few years so when this latest leak appeared I asked TJK to come by and give me a bid to have it all replaced. Brad arrived and was super helpful and explained everything to me patiently and politely. I can't stress enough how important this is. As a grown single woman who is not familiar with how plumbing works, having someone come in who doesn't talk down to me or make me feel physically intimidated is so important. On that note let's just say the guys from Uptown Plumbing will never be stepping foot in here again. So Brad came by, told me how much it would be, worked with me to try to focus on the most critical pipes when I told him the whole amount exceeded my budget. He was in and out in a day and kept me informed along the way as he found new things to discuss (after removing the drywall). Lastly, he pointed out that my toilet was going to need to be replaced soon and I should keep an eye on it and have it done as soon as I could. I thought he might have been trying to upsell me a little or being overly cautious but nope. It is now three weeks later and it just stopped working. I would seriously give 100 stars if I could!!! I received exceptional service from start to finish at an affordable rate. We had a stingy backed up drain, which we tried to fix ourselves, but ended up calling in a pro. I submitted a request through the online portal and heard back shortly afterwards. The person I spoke with on the phone was friendly, responsive and helpful! They sent a repairman out within 3 hours of the call, at my request. Ruben arrived ready to deal with the backed up drain, and was professional and helpful from start to finish. He was respectful of our space, cleaned up after himself, and worked hard to fix the problem while explaining what and why he was doing what he was throughout the entire process. Turns out our sink drain extends longer than the typical drain, and Ruben was resourceful and willing to go above and beyond. Seriously one of the best experiences I've had with home repairs. On a Friday evening, I noticed I couldn't get hot water in the shower. I went down to the basement to investigate and found there was water at the base of our hot water heater. After looking at reviews and noticing that there aren't many options for 24x7 emergency plumbing, I decided to call TJK Plumbing. Calling on a Friday evening, the owner TJ picked up the phone right away and explained the options. He said that I would most likely need a water heater replacement but that he could send a plumber to my house on Saturday. I went ahead and scheduled the appointment. The plumber texted he was on his way and within 12 hours of my initial call, my water heater issue was diagnosed. The plumber confirmed that I would need a new water heater and said that he had a suitable replacement in his truck and could be installed right then. After approving the purchase, the plumber went straight to work. He was communicative and super polite. After about three hours, the old water heater had been removed and replaced with a shiny new one. With an 8 year warranty, at least I won't have to worry about not having hot water for awhile. This is our second time using TJK plumbing and they didn't disappoint. We live in Maple Grove and have hard water, we have a few shower faucets that are getting stiff and tough to turn. The first time we had the issue, I called TJK first thing in the AM and they were out to our house in under an hour (they understood the urgency because the faucet wouldn't turn off so we had to turn off the house water and I was at home due to an unexpected snow day with my two small children). We received the most amazing service from Kurt. We bought a 20 year old house 3 years ago that has needed plumbing related maintenance/upgrades. After several months of this home owner trying to play detective, I came to the grim realization that I had a leak from a pipe that was buried underneath a cement floor. First a very nice young man came to verify my instincts (bubbles coming up from the floor was the 'tell'). He gave me the estimate and told me of any possible other costs in very clear language AND - even with unseen possible costs - I could afford it. My heart felt so much better - Another wonderful gentleman came to do the repairs and I can not tell you what a fine job he did. A few issues came up during the repair, and he figured it out and dealt with them. When he was done he took me downstairs to make sure that I was ok with everything that was done - the cement work was better than the original and my basement hasn't been that clean in a very long time! My sump pump stopped working on April 16th. I could have scooped out the hole for hours but after 20 minutes decided it would be better to call TJK Plumbing. They sent Benson to my house. He arrived promptly at the time proposed. Benson assessed the situation quickly and set to work to remedy the situation. He did not waste any time. As Benson was pumping the water out of the pit, he began assembling the new pump and pipes to replace the current pump. Upon completion of his work, he checked his work several times and made minor adjustments to ensure the new pump was working correctly and efficiently. Benson was polite during the entire process. Our 23-yr old water heater began to leak at noon on Friday. Couldn't imagine a weekend without hot water! AND the old supply shut-off valve was corroded and inoperable! 6/25 Pin hole leak just after whole house filter in 50 yr old house. Replaced section of old copper with pex after consulting with me. Tech Sid S's description & explanation was fully consistent with what I'd already known. Both the tech and the office were exceptional in meeting our needs. Called the morning after discovering the leak and shutting off water to house. Office made an appointment for the next day but said they would put me on a standby list for the day I called if something opened up. Something opened up and tech was here by 3 PM. Repair completed by 6:30 PM. The first I knew of the senior discount & veterans discount was when I received the invoice. We needed a good Plummer today because our lower level of our home was flooded with water due to a very bad Plummer we had in our home six months ago. He was from Deans plumbing and put a pipe in wrong and over time it let loose and flooded my home. TJ came to our home and did a great job fixing and replacing the defective pipe. These guys were fabulous! We had a nasty leak from a recently replaced shut off valve. They were able to come quick, within 1 day and charge us the normal rate. Other plumbing companies (Benjamin Franklin and other "bigger names") were going to charge us nearly double to come within a day. They were timely, friendly --- and so far, a job well done !! I had a clogged kitchen drain a few months ago and searched for a plumber to bail me out (literally). I selected TJK and was very impressed with their service, price, and Daniel's expertise. I added TJK to my contacts for future reference. The other day my daughter found a wet spot on her carpet downstairs and I knew we had a problem with the kitchen drain under the basement floor. $410 for a gas valve replacement on a water heater at a rental property. A bit on the pricier side at $250 an hour plus a $60 travel charge, but we're able to work with us quickly when nobody else could. They were able to schedule during New years weekend and get someone out on Monday in the morning to get our tenants hot water working again. Completed the work quickly (about an hour). Also said they'd reach out to the manufacturer to see if they could get a refund, and if so would pass that along to us, but would follow up either way. DJ was easy to work with over the phone. Would use them again. In this case I didn't shop around as they had installed the water heater and also were the only ones I trusted that could make it on such short notice. read more

We had a main drain clog around 5:00pm, couldn't flush, shower, etc. We called a couple of plumbers we've used in the past and no one could come that night. Saw TJK Plumbing reviews on NextDoor neighborhood site. We called and they said they had to finish up a project and would come after that.
