My how standards have fallen. When I was growing up, in a pre-mega-Buc-ee's era, this place was…read moreTHE gas station in Lake Jackson. It had a Wall Street Deli, a TCBY, a Tunnel Wash, and FOUR regular car washes. Everyone came here to get their car washed and life was a fairy tale. The service WAS great, the place WAS clean, and all was right with the world. Wow, this place was amazing. Fast forward to today. This place is a toilet. There's no other way to describe it. Apparently, once Buc-ee's built their gigantic station on Plantation with their superior car wash, this place fell on hard times. First it lost the Texaco franchise and they turned it into "Brazoria's Best Market" and then it got sold to the current clowns who own it, some outfit out of Houston, it became a Shell station and a model for how not to run a gas station The tunnel wash is now closed and there are printed out (like someone with Word and a laser printer) signs on the pumps advertising "Tunnel Wash for Rent." Two out of the four regular washes are closed down and they use those two for STORAGE. You can see the staff walking over to the closed down washes to get stuff out of there. Shameful! The place is filthy. It's like they never clean it. Whoever owns this place has no sense of cleanliness whatsoever. The friendly people who used to run this place are LONG gone. Pumps are regularly out of service and the grocery bag on 2-3 pumps is a regular occurrence. The worst part? The absolute HIGHEST gas prices in Lake Jackson. As I write this, the gas prices at Valero Corner Store, H-E-B, Chevron, and the Exxon on Oyster Creek Drive, are all at 1.80 a gallon. This place? $2.40 a gallon. It's an absolute joke. It's like these clowns think people will pay $0.60 extra a gallon just because it's the last station before Brazoria. I think not! Premium is still nearly $4/gallon today! the gas prices have tanked, folks. Premium is a full $1 cheaper half a mile away! Who seriously buys gas here unless someone else is paying for it? This station was closed for a while when they were finding new owners. I wouldn't mind if they closed it again, permanently. This place adds nothing to the area, has rude, hateful employees, and charges way too much. I pray that this place finds a new direction or finally shuts down for good. This place is a downright embarrassment to Shell and doesn't deserve to fly that flag.

I brought the car to Thunderbolt, and they check out the transmission and found it was not the problem. They found the problem was a bad wheel bearing, which was recently. I took the car back to the shop who originally replaced the bearing and had it fixed under warranty. Thunderbolt was very accommodating, and while they could have replaced the wheel bearing, they agreed I should take it back to the shop who originally replaced it. Their honesty and good advice is refreshing. I recommend Thinderbolt, and I expect they will take care of you, as they took great care of me!

About three years ago, Thunderbolt rebuilt the original engine in my 1971 Chevy Vega and did a great job. The original quote was for the standard items in any rebuild and it was clearly stated that after the tear down the price could go up if it was discovered that more work was needed to be done. I understood this and only a ignoramus would not. My price did go up because more was needed but it was perfectly legit. I used to own a body shop and had the same issue. You make your best guess on what is needed with a visual inspection but after the tear down in almost all cases more damage was discovered. The insurance adjusters knew this but the idiot customer would push back, like they are here.

*Dishonest Service Department - Get a Second Opinion Before You Pay**…read more I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience to warn others. I took my 2019 Honda to this dealership after it suddenly stalled on the toll road. I dropped it off on a Tuesday, and despite calling multiple times, I didn't hear anything back until Friday evening. That's already unacceptable for something potentially serious. When I finally got a response, I was told my transmission had completely failed and the repair would cost me $12,500 out of pocket. This was shocking to hear, especially since my car hasn't even reached 100,000 miles and I've only had it for a year. Trying to understand my options, I asked to speak with someone in the sales department about possibly trading in the car. I explained my situation to a sales rep, who seemed sympathetic and said he would talk to his manager and call me back. That call never came. Thankfully, a family member who owns a mechanic shop in San Antonio offered to take a look. I had my car towed there and -- to my complete disbelief -- he discovered the only issue was a bad catalytic converter, which he replaced for $500. The car runs perfectly now. This dealership either **grossly misdiagnosed** the problem or was attempting to take advantage of me. Either way, it's unacceptable. These are hard financial times, and being told I needed to shell out over $12,000 for something that cost $500 to fix is both infuriating and disheartening. **My advice: if you ever bring your vehicle here, ALWAYS get a second opinion before agreeing to any repairs.** It might save you thousands.
