I had a kitchen sink clog. I was thrilled when I called TJ's and they said they could be at my house in a 1/2 hour! The clog was worse than I had thought and hoped and they had to come back the next day with different (and expensive) equipment. They got the job done and the employees were very pleasant and respectful guys. I can't say if the price was fair or not since I never had this issue before. I purchased a furnace from them after the first one was bad and it took nights without heat before they sent someone from Buffalo to look and the 1st furnace I paid for. They finally decided to give me a new furnace (#2) ,have had nothing but trouble since. In April had no heat they came up on a Sunday and of course they were not sure if they had the part ,so in order to open the store on a Sunday to check if they had the part I would have to pay $150 with no guarantee they had the part, on top of the initial service fee. The other option to go without heat for 2 days to get the part. I opted the 2 days and slept with 2 heaters in front of me for the 2 days, They received the part installed it and not only charged me and I paid on the first call on Sunday, $189+ 2 days later $788. Of course the weather warmed up and the furnace was shut down for the summer. This November the 7th furnace doing the same thing that I paid to have fixed in April, again $151+ ( and that was after asking if they gave senior discounts,big deal $10)!!!! I went to pay with a card and of course there would be a % they would have to charge me, maybe 3%. I wrote a check. Next day furnace doing just what I had called about the day before, again they came up ,being it was intermittent I said I would record it which I did and also told them I would stop payment on the check if I had to pay another service call. well I was told they would be no charge....... I would not of paid again and would of stopped payment.....I have decided not to call them nor would I recommend them. Furnace is still acting up and I am in hopes of finding someone whoes workers know something about furnaces!!!!! Nothing is every itemized and when I asked received no answer. I have been looking for a reliable, responsive HVAC folks for a long time. I have seen the TJ;s trucks around so I thought I would give them a call in the past their reputation was not so good. I already had a different company come out twice to the tune of 300 bucks. Problem still existed with my boiler. TJ's identified the problem, ordered parts and scheduled repair. Very proffesional (Rob). Then after hours I had a pipe burst in bedroom from freezing spouting water, I shut off the zone and called at 8PM told them it was not an emergecy. The next day talked to Kathy and she said that she scheduled but hat 3 people without heat but promised that they would be here today. (big storm coming in) Gary and his apprentice Matt, show up, extremely professional identified problem, fixed the burst pipe, tested all of the 9 zones ensureing that system would be functioning through the holidays and cleaned up the wet towles and left the bedroom better than they found it. I am going to get a business account for my farm and adjacent property. If Matt and Rob are any example of a well run company, I am sticking with TJ's. I will spread the word these two guys that came out were top notch professionals. If they are grooming the apprentices on professionalism, this company will go along way. Call TJ plumbing they came to my house around 4 try to do everything to unplug but did not work then they told me that they were going into overtime they left without it being fixed RIP OFF next day calls the problem is not fixed then they said they were going to charge me for trying to fix the problem they never fixed so I would never recommend them to anyone they charge me almost $600 and my plumbing is still backed up rip off read more

They fixed my elderly mothers furnace for apx $250.00 and 2 hours work. Good job. A month later she called them back and it was now her thermostat that needed to be replaced. Granted it was a same day service call that she called in the morning around 9 or 10 and they made it out about 5 or 6 pm, but almost $300.00 for 15 minutes work. (100.00 should have been a good price for the price of a thermostat and labor. They took her old part without mentioning it which may or may not be normal. The receipt had no breakdown as to what costs what. Should not be acceptable by anyone! For other plumbing work needed within the same month we called another plumber. That plumber also made $336.00 but it was 2 guys working for three hours, replacing 2 toilets, 2 faucets and fixing a leaky tub faucet. read more

My mom dealt with Warren Branch. She is 82 yrs. old with dementia. If they would've showed up when promised I'd been there. Her air conditioner went then it was in the 90's. She lives alone in a mobile home. He called me when down said it was shot gave me prices from $3500- $5500. Next day went out and found he had cut the wires to the pump so we can't even get another company to look at it. Charged my mom close to $400. I called Tjs, for a plumbing issue ! Im from Salamanca . They called, said they were in town, and would stop by ! It was several days now, getting needy. They gave me a 915.00 estimate, and charged me 96.00 for the estimate ! I told them, they should of let me know they were charging, just for stopping. The guy said the bill for the estimate, would go towards the job ! Kinda grimy, for sure, alarm sound ! I asked them to please wait out side for the check. I called local leo...they said better pay them, do to calling them. They were already in town ! I hired Butler Plumming, of Salamanca, for the job. They charged me 75.00, and it took 20mins ! I had gotten an estimate before from them and decided I didn't want them to do my work it was too expensive. I am a caregiver/power of attorney for a woman who called and set up an appointment while I wasn't there. Upon hearing about it I called them and said that we wouldnt be needing there services at her address. The man who aswered said who are you rudely and aggressively. I responsed it doesn't matter we just wont be needing your services to which he said "who the f**k are you?" I at that point was VERY taken aback and responded I am the one with power of attorney do NOT come to this address or ai will call the cops." His attitude was reprehensible. I was polite until he responded so rudely. Now maybe this wasn't the owner but if you have people working for you that are that rude I feel like you are just as responsible. As for the work they do I can't comment because with people working for them that are that rude it would never get that far. read more

If there was something like MINUS 5 stars, that's what I would rate this company. Unprofessional, disrespectful, passive-aggressive bullies! They are a total RIP OFF! I was quoted $250 (holiday rate) an hour, which included their employees coming to my house, with the necessary tools, and working 1 hour. Their labor time was barely an hour. And initially they wanted to charge me $637. I protested this and they took their time to fix it, which took them about 20 minutes. And now they wanted to charge me $540 based on 2 hours work. OUTRAGEOUS!! I called the company 3 times, and at each time, their story changed. First, they told me $637 was a "mistake". Then, they claimed that it included travel money, to which I protested saying that I was quoted $250, which clearly included the travel money. Once they claimed that their employees were at my place for 1 hour and 15 minutes, next time they claimed it was 1 hour and 20 minutes, the third time, they claimed it was 1 hour and 40 minutes. They couldn't put the numbers, nor the story, together to justify their bill, which is unjustifiable anyways. They also had the audacity to tell me that I should be grateful for their service rather than creating a problem. They will ABUSE your vulnerable moment, charge you an EXORBITANT amount, and BULLY you afterwards. AVOID this company!!! read more

I was bombarded in my mail with their clean and check furnace specials so I called them to come and clean out my furnace. These two scummy guys showed up. I was actually contemplated whether I should allow them to come into my home. I was stupid and I let them in. My furnace was only 4 years old. The guys puts this scope in my furnace and says we have a problem. They are cracks in the heat exchanger and you are leaking carbon monoxide into your basement and its at a deadly level. He then proceeds to shut my furnace down completely. He took a pipe wrench and was screwing down a bunch of nuts on the pipes. I said what are you doing. He said its his obligation to shut my furnace down and its the law according to National Fuel Gas. They then said they could replace my furnace but it would cost 4000 dollars. I said I don't have that kind of money. They then said well we take payments. I said no. I asked them to leave. I then called National Fuel Gas to see if they could check the Carbon Monoxide level. They came and they told me that had several complaints about TJ's plumbing and heating. They told me there was no carbon monoxide in my basement. Well I was still worried. I called ADT and signed up for a carbon monoxide detector in my basement. They installed it and it had never gone off. The alarm as never sounded. I called Pipeworks in Warren, PA they came out and they said that most of their business was from customers that complained about TJ's Plumbing and Heating. They said there was nothing wrong with my furnace, they put it back on and its worked fine since. So TJ's plumbing and heating is a scam. They are scam artists. They give you a receipt when they are done and I was told by the BBB that when you sign the paper you sign your rights away to complaining to the BBB. They should be ashamed of scamming people. read more

I would gave negative ratings if I could. We had a boiler leak and our regular plumber wasn't available so we call TJ's. They replaced the expansion tank, that cost us about 900 bucks, then we don't get enough hot water, they came back, found out they screwed up the wiring, fixed that, still don't have enough hot water, we could barely finish shower for two people. They came back, said it was the heating rod in the water tank, replaced that ... Almost another thousand dollars, guess what, we had enough hot water for one person to take shower! They also installed our kitchen faucet... Simple task, they installed the handle backward. Do not use them, they have no idea what they are doing! read more

I can't thank Doug from TJ's enough! His patience and determination to fix a nonworking shower (that was installed by HJack's) paid off. After seven months, it is finally working and we are beyond pleased. In addition, he took the time to figure out why the sink was also improperly installed by HJack's and he found an easy fix (when he could have just told us it needs to be torn out and piped in correctly). Thank you to Doug and thank you to TJ's. We will continue to call TJ's for big and small jobs and I recommend them with confidence with this tip - when in doubt, ask questions. read more

We have had TJ's Plumbing service our house for two jobs, one was a sewer line fix, and the work was satisfactory. We had them come to check the boiler the following winter and had an issue with the work that we were told we'd need. However the owner did call me later on to apologize about the misunderstanding, so that was appreciated. read more

Just used them today because we had a water line frozen from the well to under a trailer we were renting out. They couldn't get the line unfrozen and still charged us $425. Said they could dig up the waterline and put deeper to get out of the frostline. Said it would cost between $1500 - $4500 depending on how far they had to replace the waterline. Even if it is an emergency-do not dial TJ Plumbing-you will not get a plumber-you will get an untrained "technician" who will leave your plumbing in worse shape that he found it and your wallet will be minus 2x the estimate. The hutspah is telling you what a favor they are doing by coming right out - while figuring out ways to upcharge and oversell their service. They sent an unskilled laborer to upgrade a toilet - he "found complications" so complicated, I guess, that he left me with a leaking toilet that moved around the floor and progressively flooded the bathroom. When the tenents could no longer enter the bathroom without slipping he sent someone out to redo the faulty work. Elderly & absentee landlords are their easiest frequent victims I fit botgh categories but no one is immune to faulty work and untrained laborers. Don't complain because they will hit you with a pack of lies. And never pay by credit card-negligent & they left mine in a location wherepeople coming to rent my house could see it on table-all info out therefor anyone to grab including codes. read more

By far the worst company a person could use. All about taking your money with extremely poor customer service after your check is cashed. They installed a sewer system (tank, grinder pump, etc) in my home. It was not done to code and after many calls on my part and two years of complaining to them about it not working correctly they finally came out to "fix it." it backed up in my upstairs and ruined my first floor ceiling. They offered only to paint it instead of doing it right and tearing out and replacing the soiled insulation and tiles. Or they were generous enough to offer me 100 dollars to do it myself. Of course if I hired them for another job they wouldn't charge me to fix the ceiling. The other job was just a mere 600 dollars. After all this a cheater vent which they installed in an attempt to bandaid the main issue with the sewage line went and filled my downstairs with sewage gasses. They came out again and replaced this but at my cost. Again, if I agreed to fix my ceiling myself they would be kind enough to waive the service fee. Fillany one last note, good luck having a manager get back to you with information. Needless to say it's been months since the backup and my ceiling is still ruined. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. read more
