Jamestown Heating & Air is now JMI Heating and Air…read moreIncompetence, endless problems, terrible customer service. JMI Heating and Air did the installation of our brand new Navien and Unico systems in our custom-built home last year and we have had endless system issues since. Looking at the installed components, virtually every tech and service person who have been here has said "I don't know why they did it this way". Doesn't inspire confidence. We have had brand new components leak gallons of water on day one. High velocity vents added and then removed a few weeks later in finished ceiling trying to improve function. Air cooling unit froze up repeatedly this past summer and we had to endure 90 degree temps in the house while waiting days for service and parts on a number of occasions. Turns out improper wiring was at fault. The AC still gets overwhelmed on warm days and can't keep up on hot days. Profoundly disappointed. Most recently, we waited over a week without hot water and heat (through Thanksgiving Day) for service on a Navien system only for a no-show, no warning and no follow up since. No call back. No plan. Nothing. I'm furious and so done. Switched to Anderson Shortel for service. They came immediately and fixed the system in fifteen minutes. FIFTEEN MINUTES after a waiting almost two weeks for non-existent follow up. I would urge you to steer clear of JMI Heating & Air.

All their people were so nice to work with, extremely considerate, great communicators, showed up on-time, just wonderful guys (Pete and Alec did the install). Just prior to the recent COVID-19 shutdown, Stone Plumbing had come out to do a couple of small…read moreplumbing jobs I needed done. Scott was quick, professional, explained what he was doing and why, and left the job site completely clean, and charged a reasonable fee. Needless to say, I was very happy with his work, which was visibly better than previous plumbing that had been done at my house. At the time, I discussed some possible future projects with Scott, including the most pressing one: the so-called 'high efficiency' boiler for my house was failing, and late winter in Jamestown is no time to be without heat. Three other local plumbing/heating companies had worked on it to no avail, and two said they'd give me a quote on a replacement boiler, but never got back to me. Scott said he would work up a quote for me so we could address it quickly when I was ready to move forward. Shortly after that, the state shutdown was announced, and my boiler quit for good. While the other companies never responded to me, Scott called me back right away, got the new boiler ordered, and we were on our way. Within a few short days my old boiler was removed, replaced with a regular efficiency boiler that is working like a charm. Along the way Scott was able to work in a socially-distanced manner, easily fielded some unusual issues (we had to rent a 60-foot cherry-picker to get to the top of the very tall chimney stack to remove the old furnace lining and replace the chimney cover), and helped make a stressful situation easier to fix than I expected. All in all, I highly recommend Stone Plumbing for responsiveness, flexibility, excellent communication, and reasonable pricing. It was one of the most positive and professional experiences I've had with any home contractor in the last 20 years. They were my fourth call this time--but they got the job done that three previous plumbers didn't. They'll be my first call the next time I need any plumbing done.

My tankless water heater was unusable AFTER they attempted to stop the leak…read more Yet, they charged me a few hundred dollars anyway! Ignored my correspondence until I filed a complaint with the BBB. Ultimately, the owner refused to refund that portion of the charges, stating he didn't see where I was "wronged". I didn't ask them to buy me another tank- just to refund the charges for the tank they (accidentally I assume) ruined. The owner lost a customer for life which adds up to a lot more than $400-500. Lastly, other issues they actually did fix cost way too much money, in my view. I don't write reviews (good or bad) normally but I just couldn't let this go. I hope folks think twice before using Circle Mechanical.

I try to have loyalty to service providers and asked them to do a simple maintenance on my boiler system and after I was charged over $400, they left with one one my radiators not working. They spent close to an hour waiting for tech support (which cost me $70) and ending up doing the task I had suggested they do before the call. Additionally, their solution was to replace the radiator when it was suggested by tech support that the issue was most likely the temperature valve (approximately $25 + labor). I will go elsewhere for my plumbing/furnace needs in the future.
