I took the plunge. It's crazy expensive but mostly worth it. It takes time, and actually, this is worth the time. Get it all done at once. The place is clean. Yes, they make you wash hands as soon as you arrive, which is a good practice. The chair is awesome with the back massage, or shiatsu. The foot bath is nice. The pedicure was OK, but my feet were really beat up, so he did the best he could. I decided to go with his recommendation for Gel polish, so it'll last longer. I know the other will last a while anyway. When that was done, then I was passed on to Mindy for the manicure.... she worked with me on the color choice, and it looks nice. My hands are all beat up too with gardening and manual labor (housework). Then she noticed that I could benefit from getting my eyebrows done. So they will still look natural. But my eyes and makeup will look better? Besides, what's another $12 when I'm already there and doing all this self care? She took me in the back, and voila, it's much, much better. Made an appointment 45 minutes in advance vs. walking in on a Sunday, and the entire experience was surprisingly pleasant. They are very efficient and nice. They keep pretty busy. I will not be going back to TK nails! I went yesterday to get my nails done and the TV was on. I was the only customer there along with 2 workers. I believe one of the ladies is married to the owner. She turned to a different channel which was showing a documentary on Africa (ok so far I don't have a problem with that) but then she asked me "have you ever been to Africa?" Of course I was completely appalled by her question. I said "No have you?" and left it like that. I did not say anything else. People may think I am being too sensitive about this but I don't think so. People should be mindful of the questions they ask before their open their mouths! Just because I'm black you felt the need to ask me that question? So instead of me cursing her out like I wanted to, I took the high road and said nothing. But rest assure me writing this review will have people of color thinking twice about giving you their business and taking it elsewhere. read more

This is Not the place for ME! Someone else might be just fine. These places are a dime dozen, so whatever is close or you prefer. Personally, they are way too pushy. Yes, most nail salons try to upscale you and push you, but I hadready said no. Then they kept pushing to add manicur, and I said I would look thru gel nail colors to consider and set me at the station, gave me like 8 sets of colors to look thru. About 5 mins later, she grabbed my left hand and asked about length and I said just keep the same and file. She filed and the grabed Mt right hand, all the while I'm still looking thru colors. She then grabs all the color rings except the 2 I have in my lap and asks if I'm ready. I felt rushed and still couldn't decide so I said forget it and she said I owed her $25 for a manicure! At this point I grabbed a non gel and said fine if your charging me for nothing finish the "manicure" Now what I consider a manicure is cuticle pushback and hang nail removal and massage and nail files and painting. That's not what I got. I mean, at least offer me $5 for the misunderstanding.... As far as the pedi, I had to ask her to do better on the calluses, and all she kept saying was I needed callus liquid for an extra $5 of corse. The other places I usually visit are clear about services, very social, do a good job AND have wine!. This establishment has none of that. read more

I love getting my nails done at TK Nails. Friendly staff and they do a great job. I am a regular for a gel manicure. Costs me $30 before tip. They have tons of color choices. If I can't decide on a color, the staff always helps me out. I'd suggest making an appointment on the weekends, or if you want a specific technician. I'm usually in and out in less than an hour with an appointment. Pro tip: if you want your manicures to last, wear gloves when washing dishes. Wear surgical gloves when washing your hair. I can go 3 to 4 weeks in between manicures this way instead of every 2 weeks. read more

If I could give rating in minus I would have done that. I called at 5:54pm asking if they could do a new set and just toe nail polish for me, guy answered the phone and said yes. I walked 7 mins later and was asked to choose the color. Mindy started doing my nails and was not very pleased with how she was doing it but that was ok coz everyone does it differently. She asked me to go to wash my hand when she had not buffed my nails properly (even after asking her 3 times), so I asked her to let me just do it myself. She walked away and 2 mins later guy name Tony came up to me to do my nails. I was shown the chrome colors and I chose the silver color from the pallet. Little did I know they didn't know how to do chrome. They kept asking what color base I need, I told them I don't know what color base goes underneath to get the color they showed me. I asked the guy to do the toe nails with the same color and he responded very rudely and in a loud rough tone that he can't do it, he wants to go home. Mindy was sitting right next to me doing someone's nails. Shamelessly she ignored the situation. Now I didn't respond back with anything thinking he probably had a bad day or something but I was embarrassed the way he went loud on me. They he started doing my nails roughly and I him not to do my nails. I asked Mindy why she left me and started doing someone else without saying a word to me. She said I will paint your nails. Now I sat there waiting for her to finish the customer she was doing. Once she was done buffing the nails for the other lady, she started painting my nails and politely I told her that the other guy was very rude and disrespectful to me, it's not a nice experience. She ignored me, I asked her if she is even listening to me. She said ya what happened, I was shocked her response. Before I could say anything back, Tony again yells from the back that they close at 7 and he wants to go home. He was ridiculously rude again, and that's when could not take it anymore. I asked him why is he yelling at me and why he is not telling the other lady who is getting her nails done, his response was, coz she had appointment she can stay. What the F**k is that!! Now when I came here to write the review, I found out that Mindy and Tony both are the owners. How sad that they running the business with such shitty attitude. Now I'm about to pay, and the lady charges me $75 for new set and gel nail polish when they have prices written $50 or $55. I didn't make a big deal and walked out never to return again. My favorite shop in Indianapolis. I don't go anywhere else! It is so clean. The overall atmosphere is unbelievably calming. The combination of a massage chair with calming music playing in the background is really relaxing. The staff are always polite and professional. It is one of the few salons in the area, so it can get pretty busy on the weekends. I would suggestion making an appointment or arriving right when they open. I usually get a gel pedicure. They last much longer than the two weeks they suggest. I also get my eyebrows waxed at times. The esthetician's always do exactly what I ask for and never leave me with paper thin brows. I know that can be a concern for some when they are getting their eyebrows done at a new salon for the first time! read more

Went to get a pedicure and the lady told me it would be 65 I told her I just wanted a basic/gel she said, ok 60 for you. When I was getting ready to pay via Zelle bc thats the only form of payment they take that or cash app,,, I was looking at their prices and it ranged from 35-50 for pedicures. The lady was annoyed that I was looking and told me it was 60 which Ok I wasn't not going to pay her the 60, (its just not a good experience) then she proceeded to tell her coworker "make sure she actually paid" it sucks bc I was a returning customer bc I was treated so well by someone else. I would never go back. My nails all started breaking off above the free edge of my nail plate. Bleeding and very painful. After 4 broke off, I had to cut the rest of my nails off, they look terrible! We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for pedicures, a fill in and a manicure. There were a couple of people ahead of us and two people signing in behind us. There were only two people working so we figured there would be a bit of a wait. We are here in Indy for just a few days and felt lucky to find a salon open on Sunday so we were willing to wait. The nail techs were both very attentive and working quickly as possible while giving excellent service to all. The lady that signed in behind us became agitated with the techs and berated then in front of all of us. Stating that she was texting Mya and demanding that her services be free. She thought that she was passed over and I pointed out that actually we had signed in before her which when she looked at the sign in sheet se found out she was wrong. She felt that they were not adequately doing their jobs and in my opinion they were doing great. I called and they said typically they suggest appointments but they weren't busy at the moment and I could come on in. Score! I was told upon arrival that pedicures are only $28...double score! They were ready for me right away and Cindy did an AMAZING job (since my first visit, I've come many times and everyone does a great job)! She had the water ready at a perfect temperature quickly, was nice but not overly chatty which I enjoy when relaxing at the spa. She even found a piece of nail that had been bothering me lately and would have caused me to have an ingrown toe nail. I was so happy she caught that! Triple score! Overall, the whole experience, especially the leg/foot massage, was perfect! All staff seemed very nice. I walked in and ask for a fill and polish change on my toes the lady who help was very nice but I wanted someone else to do my nails she was busy so I requested her husband. I have been going to TK Nails for a few years and never have I had a bad experience, until yesterday. I witnessed a Nail Tech treat a customer very poorly. The Nail Tech was rude and appeared bothered as the shop was starting to get busy. It seemed that the Nail Tech did not want to service the customer from the start. The customer said that she was not pleased with the job the Nail Tech had done. The Nail Tech raised her voice and argued with the customer and refused to provide service. I actually heard the Nail Tech tell the customer that she had hurt her feelings. All the time, the customer remained calm and asked to speak to a manager. The customer service at TK Nails is awful!!! Even the Manger has somewhat of an attitude and appears bothered and snippy with the employees and customers at times. read more

I have been going to TK nails for over a year. Every two weeks like clockwork I bring my 10 yr old in and we get mani's and pedi's or a polish change. Over the last few months I've noticed business has picked up for them and they are now starting to take more appointments. The problem with how they are managing appointments and walk-ins is the fact that they are overbooking appointments so then walk-ins are left waiting or can only get half a service before they are asked to "leave and come back". Today I personally experienced this. My daughter and I got there at 4:40p we wanted our usual gel mani & pedi. We were told with hesitation by the lady sitting in the seat closet to the exit that they could only do one service on each of us so we had to decide which was most important; the mani or the pedi? She said if they had time they would try to get to the other services we were requesting but that they had an appointment at 5. So the nail tech that was available started working on my daughter's gel mani and in the meantime another lady came in and stated she had not had an appointment but needed a pedi and fill-in. She was told to wait 30mins. Ten minutes later After nail tech Tony finished up his customer he walked right over to this young woman and asked what she needed done. Never-mind the fact that I was sitting there waiting also. Once, my daughter's mani was done the same tech said she would do my gel mani. When 5pm came, there were 4 separate people that walked in and said they had appointments. By this time the salon is packed! You can tell the tech (sits up front) who appears to delegates appointments was feeling frustrated-that there were so many people promised appointments at the same time plus they had current walk ins and more appointments coming up at 5:30! After finishing up my mani I was told I needed to come back 15 mins before they close so they could make room now for their appointments. When I politely asked Tony why the lady that had come in after us was transitioning from getting her nails filled to getting her pedi when she was also a walk-in? He proceeded to yell at me that if I don't make an appointment then I would always have to wait until all appointments were taken care of even if they had begun to service me before the appointment's designated time. I asked him not to fuss and holler at me and he proceeded to yell "he's just letting me know" and that we need to make an appointment going forward. I was so upset that he had just treated me that way in the middle of a packed salon. The young lady that had done my manicure felt bad for me and tried to smooth things over by giving me her card and saying to just call for her next time. I explained there wouldn't be a next time. I would never come back to a place that allowed a member of their team to treat a consistent loyal customer that way. read more

Went there to get a full set... the guy who did my nails was very slow and not like he was taking his time. I got gel and he didn't have the polish cure for long enough so it was like an air bubble underneath and it peeled. The acrylics themselves are decent but some are too thick and a little wonky. I use to go to this salon for several years-was satisfied for the most part, until one Saturday, I had a standing appointment I needed to cancel, and rescheduled for the next day, (Sunday), however, do to my son having a personal emergency, I had to cancel that Sunday and was willing to reschedule for sometime during the following week. I called and spoke to Mindy (owner) and she hung up on me without saying one word! I called back,phone rings for quite some time and then her husband picks up, I ask for Mindy-and when she gets on phone, I asked her why did she hang up on me and her exact response, quote/unquote "because i'm busy"!!! As many years as I have come to her and not only myself, but brought family and she came off like this?? I told her she was rude and hung up on her and I wish her well, but this is not the way you treat customers! Don't ever get so high and mighty that you think your business can't go under!
