The drive down to southern shore points like Long Beach Island, Wildwood, Atlantic City, and Ocean City from central NJ is generally uneventful back roads, but in the middle of nowhere in Cream Ridge stands TK's Ice Cream. They got their branding down with the amazing architecture of a retro ice cream shop which really makes it stand out as an appealing and welcoming place to stop off...and who doesn't love ice cream? It impressed us and caught our attention so much on the drive, that we made it a point to stop off on our return trip. I absolutely adore the retro architecture and inviting way they've set up the place. There are picnic tables with umbrellas where you can enjoy your sweet treat. We sampled the Oreo Cookies & Cream first, but it didn't have a wow factor to it, so wound up going with the cotton candy and pistachio. Both were really good. The cotton candy had bits of candy embedded within the ice cream. The pistachio was high quality with actual pieces of pistachio in the ice cream. They definitely hit the spot and broke up the monotony of the drive from the shore. Overall, I'd rate them 4.5 stars, but happy to round up for the great retro ice cream shop vibes which you really don't seem to see much of these days. The decorations and seating area are beautiful and give off a neat old school ice cream shop vibe. I got an Oreo milkshake with coffee ice cream and my girlfriend just got vanilla ice cream with hot fudge in a cup. Both items costed a little more than $13 which was a fair price to me. The milkshake was really good and the Oreo chunks were all the perfect size and didn't clog up the straw. And I also noticed the hot fudge in my girlfriends ice cream was actual hot fudge and not just some Hersheys chocolate syrup like some places do lol.
