We first tried TK's pizza a few months ago after a wedding rehearsal. That was the night my life changed. Someone in our group ordered the meatballs. My god. They are so spongy, perfectly seasoned, with marinara and cheese. My wife said she wanted that for her birthday dinner and I could not wait to delve into those meatballs. Service is friendly, you order at the counter and it is brought out to you fairly quickly. Everything we have had there is excellent. The mozzarella sticks, garlic fries, cauliflower bites , pizza and beer! Our favorites so far have been the brother in law and the pastrami. They are a must have. The brother in law is a little sweet with some spicy salami and the pastrami pairs so well with the pickles on top. The place fills up fairly quickly but they have indoor seating with a variety of games playing and outdoor seating with fire pits to enjoy that tehachapi weather. This place was recommended by so many people we had to come in to try it . Decor is fun and inviting and the customer service was excellent, the food holy moly they weren't kidding it was amazing ! The sweet potato fries and wedges were hot and crispy, the perfect appetizer. The pizzas were phenomenal, we had to try the pastrami pizza and it was so good. Came here after the Old Timers Picnic/class reunions to meet up with Mark classmates. The pizza was the way I like it crispy crust lots of toppings and a great cheese pull. The dough had a great flavor as well. The service was kinda slow but no complaints because there were a lot of people there. So everyone was completely understanding and really in no rush as they were visiting. It was loud inside the building due to the music and the amount of people inside the restaurant. At times you couldn't hear the person across the table. Some of the women did complain of the restrooms being very messy. But I did not go need to use the facilities so I can't confirm fully. A worth the drive pizza joint. I believe Tehachapi has one of the best pizza places in Kern County. Excellently made pizza, to go along with their fine selection of ciders and beers. They have a huge selection of sides as well. My go to is the fried pickles. Service is quick and you order everything at the front counter, drinks and all. This has become one of our go to travel to spots. pizzas are made on the spot and I don't think there's a bad choice. It's a nice noise volume, with music going non stop. They have a jukebox near the merch, so you do have a choice in music. Ambiance is a nice, train/ country sports bar/pizza joint. Service is always splendid And very helpful with making a selection if that's necessary. One definitely go to spirits choice, would be the Hard Root Beer. Absolutely delicious! Another great option, if they are available, are the hidden booths on the east side of the restaurant, with two booths and a giant TV & across from the astronaut pizza slice. read more

Usually we have great service and great food, overall wonderful experience at TK's. This past visit was a great disappointment. I contacted the restaurant and the person who answered the phone didn't seem to care about my complaints. Normally I wouldn't yelp for one time bad experience but since I doubt that he will forward my complaint to anyone in charge. The pizza crust was hard as if it was over baked. The chicken wings were cooked til they were dried to the bone and splintered. Very little meat on the wings to begin with. We normally really like the food there but not this time. . This isn't full table service--you order at the counter and then find a seat--but honestly, it worked really well. The food came out super fast, which is always appreciated, especially when dining with kids. Speaking of kids, mine loved their pizza. That alone says a lot, because they rarely ever finish their food, and this time they cleaned their plates. I ordered the chicken fettuccine, which had a nice texture and was cooked well, though the flavor itself was a little on the bland side. That said, the garlic bread that came with it was awesome--warm, buttery, and packed with flavor, making up for what the pasta lacked. The restaurant itself has great décor and felt very neat, clean, and well maintained throughout. The bathrooms could use a bit of restoration, but even there, the beer placards hanging on the walls were a fun and thoughtful touch that added character. Parking was not an issue at all, as the restaurant is located in a shopping complex with plenty of available parking, which made the visit stress-free from start to finish. Overall, great food, fast service, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a well-kept space. A solid spot whether you're dining with kids or just grabbing a casual meal. Well I'm back again - my new "go to" place in Tehachapi. Let me just say that Ben was fabulous! A friendly, warm smile that showed how happy he is. He made some great suggestions and followed up to be sure we were happy. That guy is amazing! Today we had my all time favorite- the cheese bread with bacon bits and jalapenos (10/10). Ben suggested some chipotle sauce for dipping and that was a plus. We also were interested in a pizza this time and there was Ben suggesting the BBQ chicken one. You nailed it Ben (10/10)! Yay! A pizza review after so long! And this one is very much worth it! This is some of the best pizza we've had outside of Chicago. It was hot enough to burn our face off! The crust was crunchy without being a cracker, thin without being burnt. Pretty much perfect...the cheese was a nice quality mozzarella, it didn't get salty as the pizza cooled..that's the first clue. The second was it held its stretch. Well it's been 13 years since my last visit here, we remembered why we don't like it. We had friends come into town, and they love this place. First, this is not the place to go if you want to have a good conversation and actually hear them talk. It's so LOUD! Second, the food just isn't good in our opinion. People love it. It's Just not our experience. They take your order at the register. They ask for a tip when you sign like most places. They don't refill drinks or check on you after bringing your food. Keep that in mind for the tipping process. The sandwiches were mostly bread, but not in a good way. Dry, flakey, and unappealing. The onion rings were not crispy, just greasy. I chose to do an order ahead since we were coming home from Bakersfield. The staff were super busy but helped everyone in line efficiently. The inside is fun for everyone, there are sport games and other programs going on all the TVs. They have booths and regular tables to sit at. They have beer on tap and soft drinks available. My order was ready when I came inside so the only wait I had was the line for the register. When we got home the pizza was delicious and the chocolate lava cake was amazing. We've been here a few times and it has been amazing! The pastrami pizza blew me away and the selection of craft beers is top notch. Our recent visit was out of the norm tho, we got a pastrami pizza and a veggie and both were absolutely swimming in oil, must have used 25 napkins mopping it up. Toppings were scarce and the veggie was a big pile of black olives on a soggy crust you couldn't pick up. Been loving in Tehachapi two years now, and I've slowly explored the local food options. This is easily my favorite pizza around here. The crust was thicker than I was used to but was crisp on the outside and cooked perfect through. Also tried the sweet potato fries which were crispy and perfect as well. Beer selection was solid. Staff were friendly and helpful, not pushy at all, only helpful. The interior was comfy and set up for a more communal dining experience. I thought that I would give them a second chance, big mistake. We ordered two pizzas to go because we did not want to eat there because of the previous experience. Got there and the whole vibe was great, they also have a terrific collection of craft beers on tap. The spicy cauliflower was .... Not at all greasy, really crunchy batter, good spice simply delicious. I had the pesto garlic pizza, on thin crust. My son in law had the chili verde pizza, also on thin crust.
