While in Tehachapi we drove this restaurant a few times, so we finally decided to stop and try it. Boy are we glad we did, we were not disappointed. One of the biggest reasons was the name of the restaurant. These are my hubby's good friend's initials and we had to see if they shared the same name. So the look and feel of the restaurant are really cool. Kind of the old west meets modern west. Very laid back vibe. TV's, music, and games. Something for everyone. I feel really bad right now because I can't remember the name of the young lady who took our order but she was the sweetest. She made sure we had cups for water and ice while we waited and thanked us for coming in. We ordered the meat lovers pizza. If you see the pictures, yes it tasted as good as it looks. My hubby had to try a piece before we headed back to our little cabin. I'm glad he made me try a a piece while it was piping hot. DELICIOUS .......everything about this pizza was good. Next time we come back I want to try some of the other things on the menu, because if the pizza was this good everything else has to be good. Forgot to mention they do have a really cute outdoor eating area, but looking at the pictures I'm sure you can tell the weather did not allow for you to enjoy that space. Every time we've gone to TK's pizza it's been great, but my son went and ordered a pizza and came back and didn't realize it, but the bottom of the pizza was burned black I was very disappointed. I hope this doesn't happen again. read more

Stopped at this sports bar for lunch. It has a great selection of vegetarian appetizers and pizzas. The portions are generous--the potato wedges and cauliflower bites were perfectly crunchy and delicious. A large pizza easily serves 6-8 people. It's a great place and highly recommended. read more

An unexpected delight. This place was not on my radar as I meandered through my road trip to Tehachapi and yet, hunger drove me to an unassuming plaza with plenty of parking (it shares a parking lot with a now-shuttered supermarket). We ordered the Mediterranean Salad, chock full of fresh baby greens, feta, olives, tomatoes, sliced red onion and dressing on the side. It was more than enough to satisfy two people quite easily. We also ordered the small pesto chicken pizza. The crust had just the right amount of char, thin in the center and generous around the edges for the added pleasure of wiping up the last vestiges of salad dressing on the plate with a bit of crust. The pesto was smeared nicely all around and had the right amount of garlic. There was a wee bit of spinach and chicken breast to round off the toppings. I really appreciated that the pizza wasn't a gloopy, cheesy mess. It had the right amount of mozzarella...it's a topping, not a food group, and these folks understand my tastes! Inside was clean, cool and comfortable, with large wooden tables (I believe the finish is called live edge) that looked very inviting. There were a couple of booths as well, and counter seating, with a satisfying variety of craft beers on tap. I stuck to diet soda (road trip rules). If I had been the passenger rather than the driver, I would have been tempted to partake. The service was quick and friendly, and not hurried in the least. If I were to find myself back in Tehachapi, I would definitely eat there again. read more

Found this gem late one night. The place was packed but we got a table inside. You order at the counter and the girl was so nice and welcoming. Everyone in here was so nice and helpful. The food didn't take long to come out and there were tvs on with sports and arcade games to keep you occupied. We ordered the strawberry walnut salad (highly recommend and enough for 3 even 4 people to share), two small pizzas which were enough for two people to share and a child. We got a veggie with vegan cheese which was good and what you expect with vegan cheese a little sticky but good. The crust is what makes it, it's fluffy and so good! We also got fries and potato wedges which were enough to share with 4 adults and a child. The servings were huge and so good! Lots of beers on tap. But once they saw us with regulars they warmed up. Not my favorite behavior...service should be solid regardless of who you are with. Our food came out quickly despite the crowd. It's just after 11 when I walk through the door, the line just a few hominids deep leaves me stuck in the doorway. Old school arcade games on the left, a decent draught selection, the howl of the wind behind me as the door opens again and three more people get in line. A lady and two guys, she asks if they're all ordering the pastrami, I shift my gaze to the pizza oven and take a deep breath. Eyes closed, just for a moment, smell, listen, take it all in. I want to play that old school ninja turtles machine, I'm thinking of ordering the lemon pepper wings on special- "What can I get for you today?" Sorry to make things weird lady, maybe she didn't notice? "Pastrami with tots, to go." I passed the first level of the ninja turtles arcade game, shredder kidnaps April. When I'm back east I order the pastrami on rye, here on the west coast it's generally served in a hoagie. At TKs they melt in a layer of of mozzarella cheese which took me by surprise at first, creamy delicious melted mozz... I really enjoyed the pickles. Crisp and dilly dilly they really brought the sandwich together and offset the savory pastrami mozzarella combo. But the tots. OMFG the tots. @sonicdrivein take note, @tktehachapi is out here slowly earning the crown for best tots on the west coast. Literal crack. I loved the Sammy but would definitely plow through some of TKs tots at 3 am with a belly full of whiskey and regret. I wonder if the pizza here is worth the hype? Maybe next time I'll find out. After TK's the other night there is no way I will ever return. However I did go to McDonalds for lunch today. Food may not be as good as the lasagna I had at TK's but the McDonald's counter service was much friendlier and an employee stopped by my table to see how everything was. McDonalds did include a couple napkins, and if I needed more they are next to the soda machine just like at TK's. McDonald's soda machine area is much cleaner. read more

I'm a pizza lover and I will give this place an 8.5/10! We drove to Tehachapi from Bakersfield with some friends just to try out this pizza spot. The guy at the register could have been friendlier, but we'll just set that aside. The atmosphere was very family friendly. We started out with garlic fries that were just ok. But the pizza was pretty great! We had a large BYOP with pepperoni and pineapple and our friends had a chicken alfredo. The crust was really good and soft while the base had a slight crunch to it that I really enjoyed. Our P&P I would definitely have again. I did have a bite of our friends chicken Alfredo, but I honestly didn't care too much for it, however they seemed to like it. They also had a small cheese pizza for their daughter that looked yummy and she seemed to enjoy. They also had several beers on tap, but I'm not a beer drinker so I can't really say more. We had seen TK's pizza being delivered to the local hospital and it smelled amazing. We decided to check it out. The young lady who took the order was very helpful. She explained their menu very nicely. I had a vegetarian pizza with artichokes and sausage as add ins. My husband tried the pastrami sandwich. The pizza was nothing to write home about, and the sandwich was not up to par. That was disappointing. The seating - well, the chair seats are metal so bring a pillow. The food was excellent. I had the calzone and it was huge and so good. My husband had the BLT and loved it and my mom had a pizza and it was great also. I highly recommend the food here. The interior is done very Casual and very nice. Very family friendly, except for all of the beers on tap. This is my family's favorite pizza place! We don't even live in Tehachapi, but we make the drive about once a month just to eat here! They have indoor and patio seating. The outdoor area does include heating elements to keep you warm in the cool Tehachapi air. The tables inside are huge, so you can bring a group and all sit together. As an added plus, the outdoor seating does allow for you to bring your pooch! There are a couple arcade games - not enough to say it has an arcade, but enough to keep the kids entertained for a while. They also have several TVs showing various sporting events. If you come here, you have to try the pastrami pizza! It has mustard instead of pizza sauce and its topped with pastrami and pickles! Definitely unique, but I absolutely love it! They also have plenty of salads, fried appetizers, and pastas to try. We love the mozzarella sticks and fried green beans. The sodas, plates, etc., are self serve which is nice because you can help yourself instead of waiting on staff to come around to fill drinks. This allows them to focus more on getting orders right and out quickly. I recommend this place to people all the time! 10/10 stars! read more
