TKTS Lincoln Center is great! The main perk of this location is that the booth and waiting area are indoor. Of course as the line gets longer, it extends outside the building. It moves slower than TKTS Times Square because there are fewer ticket windows open. In my opinion, it is worth going early if there is a specific show you want tickets for. The inside of the building was packed and the line outside was considerably long as well. It was a bit cold outside, and got worse as a sudden rain storm took us by surprise. This was worth the extra train ride! The young lady behind the counter was super helpful and we spent 114 dollars on tickets to see Chicago! Not for nothing I was looking online and was about to spend 186. The seats we got were great! This is the best deal in town. They usually open at 11 am (I would suggest getting here 30 minutes earlier) and you can get tickets for that night or the next day. The tickets can be up to 50% off but there are some extra fees as well. They take most credit cards (though not Discover). And whatever is left goes to the Times Square outlet. We got tickets for Alex Edelman's show (comedian) at the Hudson Theatre. It was fabulous and so worth going here to get this show. Everyone who works for TKTS is super helpful and friendly and will tell you right away if they have tickets for the show. For Alex edelman, they told us there were tickets however by the time we got to the front, we were almost out of luck. I said we would all sit separately so that is what we did- 4 single tickets. So you have to be prepared with a second show as a back up. There's a return fast past line for people who already purchased tickets there within the week - I did see two shows this week but the other one I got thru TDF. Save your tickets and you can also fast pass at Times square as well - huge timesaver! If you need to use the bathroom, you can get the key from the people at the ticket counter. One reason you would want to travel away from the Times Square location is because when they are selling matinee tickets you can buy evening tickets before 3pm. Look at the board above the ticket window to see what shows you can buy. Pro Tip: Avoid buying tickets for shows for Monday as they usually don't give that much discount as they are one of the few shows playing and they know it and they know they can sell it for more as people will buy. Wow! What a difference from the Times Square location! It only has three windows, but the line went fast. The employees are as professional & friendly as the Times Square location. This location is inside - out of the heat, cold, or rain. And if the line is long, and you need to sit, there are tables & chairs by the entertainment stage - as long as you have someone in line with you to take turns sitting! Before we got to the window to buy tickets, Joey moved up and down the line fielding questions. He was efficient and knowledgeable. Jackie was nearby, to help if Joey didn't have a quick answer. When we got to the window, Carol was helpful, friendly and quick. We got the tickets for the show we wanted for a price we could afford: 7th row center orchestra. Perfect. Newest of the discount ticket centers for Broadway and Off-Bway shows. Didn't know this when I was there but you can get matinee tickets THE DAY BEFORE. Opens at noon but when we got there at 11:30 there was a decent sized line. Board said there were tix for Evan Hansen and Tootsie but after almost an hour wait they were all gone. Next time we'll get there an hour before they open. Probably same wait but at least we'll be front of line. At least you are inside and the staff is helpful and will give you the skinny on all the shows (if you ask). *Note -- not all the shows are half off -- many are 20-30% off which means you're still paying $100 bucks and up for some shows. Ending up settling for "Betrayal" which was three English people yapping at each other for 90 minutes on an sparse stage -- something you'd find at a regional theater (with better acting). Although the lines are long, you are covered and in air-conditioned environment. Compared to Times Square or Seaport, this is one the easiest on the body. Only issue is that there's only a few booths and when I went only two were open. There's helpful people in red shirts that can give recommendations. Placed inside the Atrium, means indoor heating in the winter; also there is a cafe ('wichcraft) for coffee and seating (so one person can stand in line and the other can sit down). I used to study in the Atrium and it was a great space. A security guy would keep patrons safe. The app told me Times Square had a 45 minute wait, but this one had no line at all, and is closer to where I live! So I made the trek. What a treat this place is! It's inside of a very nice building with lots of space, and even has air conditioning! The TKTS booth is tucked into the back, and there's three windows helping people, with a giant board above that shows every show they currently have tickets for, and what the current discount is. The staff seemed very polite, and are very good at what they do. Helpful, and fast. If you need last minute tickets for broadway or off-broadway shows, this is definitely the place to go! Arrived 12:30pm on a Saturday. Stood in the line outside for half an hour and the line inside for half an hour. Then I walked briskly and made it to my Central Park Conservancy tour before 2pm. The benefit of this location, even with that hour wait, is that they start selling the evening show tickets at noon, before the Times Square location sells them (3pm). Love love love this location. Definitely better than the Times Square location. Air conditioned, kind staff, and no wait. From what I heard, this location is a pop up and they're testing it out for a few months. Reasons to love it more than other locations: 1) When you stand in front of the ticket windows here, you can see which Broadway and Off-Broadway shows are on sale. Great find, or so I thought. Wanted tix for The Ferryman which the guy helping out before the box office opened assured me there were. A different guy behind the ticket counter sold me two tix assuring me they were great seats-- neglected to tell me they were last row and obstructed by the sound/light technician's booth! Theater was kind enough to reseat us when they realized my husband had to lean forward at an angle in order to see the stage! There is staff there who is able to help you make your decision on which show to see. It is located in a building with a cafe and seating area too. When I took my 81 year old parents to see The Phantom of the Opera we went to TKTS asking where the seats were the guy said they were "6 off the center aisle. There IS NO "center" aisle. They were 6 left of the left aisle or THE LAST 3 on the extreme left. OBSTRUCTED VIEW. WE could not see the whole stage. He blatantly LIED to us. I have used this location with great success. It's convenient to my job and the people selling tickets have been unusually helpful and friendly. Today, though, as I waited on line for the window to open, I wanted to turn the volume down on the young staff member who was , I presume, there to give information to early arrivals. She was holding court (the theme was favorite TV shows) and shrieking our questions and babbling on about TV. When I approached her about a ticket-related question, she seemed visibly annoyed that I had interrupted her little show. I'm so grateful to have this TKTS location, but sorry that a salary is wasted on such an intrusive annoyance. In fairness to her, some people on line seemed to be enjoying the loud banter.
