We were told we'd find out which show on the day of (Saturday) at 11 am, but on Friday night, we got an email from the theatre saying they were excited to see us. You get the option to cross off a few titles you do not want to see or maybe you have seen before. You can pay an additional fee if you would like to cross off more. I still ended up getting a show I've seen before, but that's okay because it turned out to be an amazing experience seeing it on Broadway. I've always experienced the national tours. The seats were decent enough but I'm semi skeptical because the price of the ticket almost comes out to what you would pay at the box office anyways so how much are you truly saving? However, after receiving a response today, I realize this is now the way they're operating. You can only purchase 2 tickets at a time, so forget their statement "go with friends!" - you can only go with 1 friend. Or, you can choose the "family-friendly" option for more money and less options if you want to go with more than 1 other person. They actually suggested I SPLIT UP MY PARTY TO DIFFERENT SHOWS if I needed more than 2 tickets. Ummmm....so my husband and I can't take our daughter to a show unless we want to pay more per ticket and have less shows to choose from (AND, you have to pay to eliminate shows with the family friendly option). Two days ago we used the service for something today. I was super nervous about trusting a service like this, but all the reviews sold me. Even those that complained for tickets, they just didn't like their seats or they didn't like the show. I'm on a weekend trip with my 15 year old daughter. When we tried the service, the family option was not available, there was a holiday premium placed on the tickets so I was worried what we might get. We eliminated the ones that were obviously not kid friendly or that we weren't interested in, and signed up. I spent about $75 a ticket, which was higher than I was hoping, but what the heck. I didn't pay for additional eliminations or for premium seating, I was already over their advertised rate and decided to just let it stand. We waited... They sent texts and emails daily, which was great to know they were on the job, and it also built the hype. That was fun. Today was our spin. We got two tickets to"Oklahoma", which ended up being in the Orchestra section. As it was an oval venue, I'd say we ended up in a corner, but honestly there weren't any bad seats. We were 3 rows from the floor. Not too bad! The ticket value was $149 each, so we basically got them half off. We did one other broadway show while we were here which was regular priced (I paid $500 for the pair of tickets). This one through Broadway Roulette was a great add-on to the weekend and I'll do this combo time and time again in the future. I used this service for the first time today and it was everything I hoped it would be! They sent an email by 930 am to let me know what show we'd gotten. In the email though they didn't state the time of the show and instead noted it as an "evening" show, which apparently was a glitch. Within half an hour a person, completely unprompted, from the company emailed me to apologize that the show time was missing and they sent a promo code for a small discount for my next purchase. This was totally unnecessary but was very nice of them! We got tickets to Chicago, which we were really excited about since it's such a classic, and our seats were in the first row of the mezzanine! Out of curiosity I checked prices on Today Tix for the same section and they were about $30 more than what broadway roulette charged so it's definitely a good deal! A lot of the excitement for me though was just the surprise of not knowing what we were going to see till the day of! I don't see broadway shows that often and don't really keep up with what the big ones are so it's nice to not have to make the choice and just knowing that whatever I get will be great, as all the broadway shows are great! I took a shot at Broadway Roulette because it's Christmas time, I'm broke, and it seemed like a great deal. I crossed off the limit they allow you to and didn't want to spend extra to cross off more. BIG MISTAKE! I ended up with 1776 which I found extremely boring! My teens and I were nodding off, how embarrassing! I LOVE broadway but this show was awful and I could see why there were still so many empty seats. I decided to look at what the tickets are selling for and was even more disappointed to see that they are dirt cheap on Today Tix. I was basically ripped off for a crappy show. I emailed them and received a reply that the seats are worth over $100 each before fees. NO, they are not! This service is amazing! My daughter had used it pre-covid and loved it so I thought I would give it a try now that things are somewhat back to normal. Our spin gave us tickets to Hadestown. Now my younger daughter and I had already seen it last year in Philadelphia but my husband and my exchange student had not seen or heard anything about it. I heard this service is super hit-or-miss and my boyfriend and I were completely prepared for that. The key to this is to go in with ZERO expectations. It's a lottery -- you don't know what you're going to get. It's 100% worth the price nowadays considering that the cost of whatever ticket they give you will be at least $50-200 more than what you're paying. A weekend is $60/ticket (which, sadly, is considered cheap nowadays ... I miss the $25 student rush days!). A typical weekend ticket is around $150-300, so this service saves you a good bit of cash. We received an email around 11 a.m. for the 8 p.m. performance of "Chicago." We knew the movie but hadn't seen the show. To our surprise (and luck) we were issued Center Orch, Row K (about 13 rows from the stage). Best seats in the house (again, this is all part of the lottery -- you could get the best seats, or the back row balcony ... but either way it's going to be a fun night if you let it be).
