Our dad lived in several different assisted living venues in Great Falls, so he (and we) were familiar with the care and routines and knew what to expect. The staff (especially Clyde!) made my dad feel so comfortable and at home! They made my mom's elderly friends on the bus go back to their resthome because they didn't have an appointment to visit!! They were 85 & 80 made to cry the man was so nasty from the home. After that and pictures of many gross things came in from family who visited her, my fell hard. NO phone call to me or anyone, NO nurse (they say they have come check), her face black & blue, swollen, confused, in bed. Ending in hospital, brain bleed, dehydration, barely could walk. As my mother's health deteriorated the Mission Ridge staff worked with me to ensure her needs were meet. She was able to move to a different location on campus. There are so many wonderful people who work at High Gate! In the Memory Cottage, Amber, who apparently LIVES in the kitchen, is an example of an employee with standards so exemplary that I am continually astonished by her expertise at her job. She over-sees all kitchen activity and participates in everything that happens there. No easy task. It's not common to come by someone with the loyalty, pride and skill in a profession as demanding as Amber's. AND no matter how stressful the moment, this remarkable woman continues to greet my family with a warm and energetic smile.
