I was in town on business and began having medical issues. Everyone at TLC was professional and PA was exceptional.

I used to recommend this facility to everyone in the area. That since has changed. When you sign your new patient paperwork, one of the papers that they have you sign is authorization to keep a card on file. I signed this and didn't think anything of it. That is until about a year later I had a charge from my account of over $150 from this facility with no call, no warning just the debit from my account. I called them and they said that there was an issue with billing my insurance and that was the owed part that they had to pay so they deducted it from my account. I immediately called Blue Cross Blue Shield and got to the bottom of it. Because I had two insurance policies at the time and only one was billed, they wanted the visit to be billed through my employer's insurance. The BCBS agent told me to have the facility resubmit everything with my employer insurance policy. I called back and spoke to Sandy and told her this. She was somewhat argumentative and was trying to talk to me like I was dumb. And told me "there's no point in filing it they aren't going to approve it anyway". I asked her if she could still file it anyway and she said OK fine. A month later I never heard anything back so I called Blue Cross Blue Shield again. They had never received the new bill. The agent said "have her resubmit it; It hasn't been over a year since your visit and it will be approved. I don't know why she's telling you there's no point. It will be covered and the original was filed timely so it's fine just have her resubmit." So I called back to the facility, asked for billing. No one answered, left a voicemail. A few days later called back was transferred to billing. Even though Sandy was there, she refused to talk to me, because I was talking to another person who would put me on hold, go talk to Sandy and then come back and talk to me. Very unprofessional. Long story short Sandy never resubmitted the claim to Blue Cross Blue Shield. So a visit that would have been paid in full by both my insurance plans, ended up being charged to me for absolutely no reason other than her laziness and arrogance. So out $158 all for nothing. The NP mary is awesome but their billing/office staff not so much. read more

I went to this place 3 times. Important information was left off my chart. Referrals were never completed. My prescriptions were also wrong, including one that my pharmacist said was bad for my blood pressure. They tried to make me come in extra times just for refills. When questioned about the missing information on my chart, the NP accused me of swearing and refused to treat me further. She was completely incompetent. read more

I am a ICU Registered Nurse and so I tend to be a little picky about who treats me. I needed to get in somewhere ASAP. The wait was probably about an hour, but I did not have an appointment. The girls at the front did not acknowledge me when I walked in, so I had to get their attention. Other than that, the nurse who took my history and vitals was very kind and professional. Dr. Daniel Wagner is was outstanding. He made me feel very comfortable immediately. He took his time assessing me and then sat and really listened when I described my symptoms. He gave me more than enough meds (a shot of antibiotic, a zpak, and also cough syrup with codeine since my chest pain was so bad). Like I said, I'm picky about who treats me. I will recommend Dr. Wagner to everyone. I wish there were more in his practice like him. The visit and scripts with no insurance was 146, I believe. Not bad. Dr. Wagner didn't even charge me for the Rocephin shot. They could afford more attentiveness at the front desk. read more

Competent, compassionate urgent care in a clean, modern, well-appointed clinical environment with an efficient front-desk staff available 24-7 earns 5 stars! ERs, public or private...you hope you never need one but you're really glad there there for those times when you do. New to Corpus (well, relatively so), I still haven't gotten around to choosing a well-matched family doctor who fits my locational and professional needs. I needed urgent care and perused the list of doc-in-the-box options carefully before ultimately choosing TLC, a 24-7 service provider, privately-owned, and equipped as a full emergency room. I'm glad I did my research! Maybe I just caught a lucky break but there was relatively no waiting to be taken back to the treatment area for my vitals. After a quick, painless in-processing dance past a reasonable volume of forms and payment at the front desk, followed by an efficient and warm initial interview to discuss my symptoms, I saw an MD within ten minutes of arrival. Bloodwork, X-rays and IVs aren't exactly fun but the nurse (I think her name was Valerie?) who administered my tests and treatment was so gentle and soothing that I almost forgot I was being poked with needles and prodded. A frequent sufferer of nausea, I've had the unique pleasure ? of many intravenous treatments of uber-thick, vein-blowing phenergen and zofran--but this sweet, compassionate lady took her time to carefully ensure no pain, no blow-out/IV insertion--pleasantly cooing and soothing through the whole process before getting me a warm blanket. When I thanked her for her extra care, she smiled warmly and told me her favorite part of the job was making people feel better and that seeing me made more comfortable was thanks enough. Who does that anymore and where can we get more like her!?!?! Seriously!!! The doctor, a rakishly handsome young MD with a bright, engaging bedside manner explained the tests he wanted to run and his tone made me feel confident that he was fully exploring the possibilities rather than just walking in with his mind made up and blindly treating symptoms. As I left, he asked me to not let my symptoms get "this bad" again and reminded me that someone would be at the clinic 24-7 if my condition worsened. Again, five star service! At every level, I was satisfied with the quality of treatment I received from TLC. I hope you are never sick and never need emergency care, but if you do--this is the place to seek treatment. I hope you get the same competent, compassionate, and thorough team of service providers I did. read more

Fast and efficient urgent care. Very clean. The staff was friendly and kind. We waited for maybe 15 minutes, which isn't bad for a walk-in clinic. If I ever need an urgent care again, this will be the one I go to. read more

I am a physician, sometimes we need help to! I just moved to the area, and I knew the right thing to do, which was to ask the nurses where the best place to go would be. They were right. Be careful! I brought my child here with an injury on a Saturday. The front office staff and MA (medical assistant) were not particularly professional. The MA expressed concern on not knowing how to take an x-ray.... not very comforting. I liked the PA that saw us, but they sent us to a medical supply to get a brace and crutches for my son's break. The place they sent us said they never give those items. I had to devise a home-made immobilizer. _Not_ a happy mama. Today (Monday), when my primary provider requested his chart- they noticed that TLC says they did give him a brace, and were billing the insurance carrier for it. Then, when we requested the x-ray, they said they don't let the x-ray go to any other office. THEN WHY WAS IT TAKEN????? Complete and utter waste of money. I literally could have done all of this on my own. read more

In my opinion this is easily the best clinic in the city if you find yourself needing on the spot care. The facility is very new and the staff is friendly. Most importantly they aren't afraid to give you antibiotics or pain killers if you need them. More often than not if you ask for something specific like "I need whatever" they'll write you a prescription. Highly recommended! read more

Friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff including receptionists, medical assistants, nurses and doctors. Over time some even become personal friends. Sometimes you'll see a physician's assistant, but they're more than ready to seek advice from another staffer if a problem arises. How TLC can find a team that works so well together is amazing. My only complaint is that TLC is in Calallen--30 miles from Flour Bluff. But because of the short wait times and the reasons listed above I'll continue to make the trek to Calallen. read more

Weary doctor and rude staff. We waited a very long time .Overcharged and paid in advance even though I have excellent insurance. The insurance did pay them and now after 2 trips to their office I'm still waiting for a refund. On my last trip in to check on my refund I noticed that they are advertising Botox injections for cosmetic purposes???? Scary! We will not return. read more

Absolutely horrible. My husband got sutures here, and they used RUSTED scissors clipping away excess skin on my husbands hand, couldn't find where anything was, didn't numb his hand before stitching it, and took over an hour for 3 stitches . VERY unprofessional . read more

The only good thing about this place is that it's clean. I've had isses with my digestie system my entire life and knew exactlly whatt I wanted to be tested for. Howeer, when I told the doctor what I wanted, he said despite the research I've done and the problems I've experienced, I had no idea what I was talking about. So, instead of sticking with my beliefs, I had the other blood tests done that he suggested. There were no special eating requirements. The next day, I went back for blood tests and they looked at me like I was insane. They told me that I was told that I had to go somewhere else for the tests (which they did to . That waysn't a big deal. Because there was a wqlk in place down the street I could g go easily. Then, ey asaked if i had fasted all day and when I said no one told me to do so, the two nrses andd the doctor yelled at me claiming that they did. I was upset because I had driven so far to get there for no reason so I told them that maybe they maade a mistake. The doctor interrupted me and was terribly rude to me, telling me that I need to listen and that he did tell me to fast. When I told him again that he did not give me that information, he said "whatever!" And walked away. Needless to say, I will not go backk there. read more

Was recently seen at their new facility for a number of cold symptoms. All that was done was my vitals and not a single test. Then the "Doctor" tells me that "Antibiotics would not help me". And suggests that I keep taking over the counter medication (which I had been doing for 3 days already). The next day I was the sickest I had been throughout the entire cold. I get an appointment at my regular MD. And turns out I have the FLU. So they pretty much took my money charged my insurance and didn't help me at all. Thanks for reading. I don`t recommend this place at all. Wife went there twice for a cold. The first visit cost 125.00. Came back 3 days later and it cost 125.00 again. A week later She still was sick. Talked to some friends about the place and they had Horror stories about it. I don`t think they know what they are doing! read more

TLC Medical Clinic will overcharge you and not refund your money. At the time of my visit they insisted I pay more than my copay because that was their policy. Of course, when I received the EOB from my insurance company it stated I overpaid. I contacted TLC billing they referred me to the office manager. I have contacted the office manager twice now and still have not received the refund of my overpayment. These guys are crooks. DO NOT go to this place! read more

So, if you need to a see a doctor or PA quickly, this place can provide you with medical treatment. Dr. Wagner is really sweet and helpful. In addition, several of the PA's are really good. However, if you have a problem with billing (insurance), Sandy the office manager will never solve the issue. She is one of the worst medical office managers ever. She will not return calls, and she will not keep her word. Sandy gives TLC a bad name, and the owners (Dr. Wagner and Dr. Rich) of this facility need to be aware that they have a terrible office manager! I would suggest seeking medical treatment elsewhere just to avoid the hassle of dealing with Sandy. read more

Rude, incompetent, and disrespectful. This is the only way that I can describe the woman who took my vitals. When I inquired about a blood test she gave me information which I knew wasn't true. I insisted on verifying the information with the nurse, but she said that the nurse would say the same thing. And when I asked, she mocked me in front of the other staff. Then of course, when I spoke to the nurse the nurse gave me the correct information. To make matters worse, their office never mailed me the receipt for my payment that I had been promised. It's amazing how one person can ruin an experience for you or a place. While waiting for my discharge papers I could hear NP Jared O. basically talking crap about his clients. He wasn't even trying to be quiet. He was mocking a pregnant patient who had just come in and speaking with a strong annoyance in his voice. You could "hear the eye roll" in his voice. He then began speaking ill of other pregnant women he had treated before. Then he started talking about me. I only picked up the second half of what he was saying so I did not feel like I could confront him when only hearing half of what he said. When I left I said to my man nurse "I want to let you know I could hear everything you guys were saying about your patients. If you guys are going to talk crap about them then you should probably do so more quietly. I suggest you pass that on." He was shocked and had nothing to say other than ok. Very unprofessional. I cannot say I won't ever go back because the facility IS very clean and I am always in and out within an hour. Dr. Wagner is fabulous and so is NP Rich. I will be sure to call and make sure I won't be seeing NP Jared O. I give TLC 4 stars and Jared 2. He needs to get off his high horse. read more
