Because of its recent opening, classes are still small and quickly growing, which mean there is a lot of personal attention given. The facilities are spartan, clean, and get the job done. Russell Cantorna leads this school, and he is an extremely gracious and welcoming person. He doesn't stress the need to win or lose, despite his competitive record - rather, he stresses having a good time on the mat. As a guest to the academy, there is no hard sales pitch. Try a class, enjoy yourself, there's no rush to sign up. Incredibly down to earth guys and gals. Being a smaller guy, the techniques I've seen Russell use focus largely on technique and efficient control rather than weight or muscle, which suits me since I am on the smaller end as well. Despite being a black belt, Russell is extremely humble during a lesson and during a roll. He will wreck you on the mat, but compliment your strengths afterwards. He is the kind of instructor who encourages you and makes you look forward to training, day after day. Highly recommend.

I have been a hobbyist of various martial arts for years. Since day 1, the environment at Rounders was a perfect fit. The people are friendly and helpful. The hours and the selection of martial arts classes are excellent. Every last coach knows their stuff, and they teach both kids and adults classes with professionalism and care. I am also always grateful that the black belts, pro fighters, and other experienced trainees are so helpful during class. Not only do you have knowledgable coaches, but your peers support you here too. I have seen multiple martial arts gyms over the years, especially in Orange County, and while all have nice things to say about them, Rounders just hits every single mark. It's a nice and spacious facility with a great setup, but the people are what make it stand out. My only complaint is that I wish I had started here sooner.

Before this gym and before BJJ and Kickboxing/Muay Thai, I wasn't very confident in myself. I struggled to have hard conversations, make hard decisions and stick to commitments. I knew I needed to be better but I just didn't know how to be comfortable being uncomfortable. Well, that six week challenge did more for me than anything else I had done before. It put in an uncomfortable amount of effort, pain, stress, and happiness! I was terrified, I was never good at cardio, I would always throw up (and I did my first class!) but what I found is everyone here is rooting for you. Coach Eric who conducted my first class was so proud that I made it back into the class even after the bathroom break. Because all the coaches here have started where you have started. And they are here to support you, guide you and help you mold yourself into the best version of yourself. In completing the six week challenge, I had found the best version of myself. Someone I had desired to be but didn't know how to get there. I'm confident in my abilities, in my body, in my mind, in putting myself in uncomfortable positions and knowing I have what it takes to overcome it and succeed. I have made so many friends and found that I really have made this gym my second home! Coach Eric, Carlos, Regis and Coach Marcello are so supportive and incredible teachers who are so knowledgeable and great at pushing you forward and to your goals. If you're on the fence, take that leap of faith. It's worth it, even if it's just for the 6 weeks! You'll come out stronger and better than you were then. Master Clawson is so knowledgeable about the history of archery and anything related to martial arts. He is very open and gives direct feedback on form. His feedback is very helpful. He took extra time with the beginners to provide additional support. I enjoyed seeing the advanced members shoot their bows too. Getting to see that was very inspiring. I love that the environment is filled with respect and discipline. Such a great learning environment. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. If you are on the fence about taking a class here, just go for it! You won't regret it. I had a ton of fun shooting and I think I got a tiiiiiny bit better from the first class- yay! lol

I called the studio and it went to voicemail. I waited 15 minutes and they are still closed. Super unprofessional and waste of my time! Update. I even stuck around for another hour until 10 AM in an attempt to take the class at 10 AM, but they were still closed. I emailed the studio and they got back to me saying the whole studio is closed today and all the classes are canceled due to an event outside the studio. They should definitely be updating that on their website and/or Instagram! I even checked both before driving there this morning.
