Coach Nolan is an amazing striking coach and he will elevate your striking to the highest levels. The jiu jitsu programs are awesome. In terms of culture, the people and coaches create an environment where you can thrive. It's fun to be there and it caters to any level. If you're a first timer, you'll get taken care of. If you aspire to fight at the highest levels, you'll have coaches and talent to support you. I've made life long friends at this gym, and I'm thankful for it. Now the value... some gyms pin you down with 4 sessions a week or just 1 martial art. At this gym, you get unlimited classes to Gi BJJ, NoGi BJJ, Muay Thai, MMA, Wrestling, fitness. There's also a recovery room with things like red light therapy, massage boots, vibration plate, sauna, cold plunge, hyperbaric chamber. There's showers, lockers, and there's a coffee bar. Not to mention, a weight training area. So yea, you get way more bang for your buck. Also, if you're looking to fellowship, there's a weekly Bible study on Thursday nights. Open to anyone. I sound biased. And I am. But it's because of my experience at this gym.

You can tell the coaches genuinely care about developing both skill and confidence, which means a lot as a parent. The unlimited visit structure is a huge value and makes it easy to stay consistent. On top of that, the gym has a real family-like environment where everyone is welcoming and supportive. The in-house coffee shop is also a great bonus for parents during training sessions. Small improvements I'd love to see: * An in-house water fountain for convenience * A more mobile-friendly website Overall, this is a fantastic gym with amazing culture, coaching, and value. Highly recommend for families and anyone serious about training.

Coach Danny is a wonderful Ex Pro MMA fighter and pioneer of the sport who is great teaching hobbyists and as well as aspiring jiujitsu and mma fighters at all levels. SoCal Combat Club is great at not overlooking any one's training as Coach Danny is great at prioritizing all students some may have experienced getting overlooked at other gyms due to the sheer size of the classes and though there are plenty of high level jiujitsu and mma practitioners to learn and train with at SoCal Combat club the class size is the perfect amount as to not get lost in the crowd. The owners, professors, and coaches have cultivated a superb gym culture. This gym is safe, friendly, and supportive. The facility is modern and clean, and they've invested in a foam block subfloor beneath the mats for softer landings. As far as I know, this is the only gym in the area that offers women-only classes four times per week and a bi-monthly community open mat for gentlemen 40 years and older. My kids train here after school 4-5 days a week, and they love it. The kids' professors and coaches are experienced and amazing teachers. I'm especially thankful for the young coaches who were so patient and kind to my boys when they were hesitant and shy after first starting. And my pocketbook is especially thankful for the discounted rates for additional family members. If you're looking for a place where the whole family can train, grow, and feel welcome, I can't recommend Teragi highly enough.

I've been to places where it seemed salesy or lacking authenticity. Teragi Academy is a place where they genuinely practice and instill jiu jitsu and its culture of honor and regard of others. The promotion of belts is carried out quarterly and only awarded based on merit. This is also something I greatly appreciate because I know many establishments that give out promotions for no reason at all. Since day one, the professors and coaches of this gym have been patient and meticulous in teaching techniques to the kids. Teragi has been instrumental in providing confidence as well as self awareness for my son. I've seen many of the other kids mature in their own ways for the past 2 years. It's always a wonder to see everyone come up together. For myself and my family, we seen so much growth and discipline in our boy. There's a comfort in knowing that our child is not left helpless and able to stand up himself as well as for others. I've been watching in the sidelines, two to three times a week, for the last 2 years. This is a program that provides a worthwhile experience. The benefit and journey is well worth the investment for anyone, young or old.

I found Ease and Professor Ian through the invitation of a friend after mentioning that I wanted to learn self-defense skills, as well as find a fun form of exercise. At first I was hesitant since about 10 years ago, I attended a trial week at a different bjj school and just felt bullied and turned off to continuing. But since day one at Ease, I've never encountered any egos and every single person that I've trained with has been helpful in showing me small ways to improve in various positions. It's a culture that I immediately appreciated considering my past experience. Since I'm starting at age 31, my biggest regret is not finding the right school like Ease earlier in life. Professor Ian is so effective at breaking down moves and concepts appropriately for both kids and adults. As a teacher myself, it's clear that he has solid pedagogical practices that make learning engaging for students of all ages and abilities. I love seeing the kids getting stronger and learning discipline while they train! I didn't really know a lot about jiu jitsu before coming here! I walked in not even knowing what color comes after a white belt, and although I'm still so new, I'm excited to see how far I'll go! I really appreciate the gym offering a 2 week trail period for anyone (like me) who is new and just exploring their interest! Knowing I'm not alone is a huge factor that keeps me coming back (unlike my 24 membership-- a traditional gym was overwhelming for a beginner like me). I didn't realize the power of learning from those that have gone before you & ASKING QUESTIONS to truly understand why, as opposed to just going through some motions to burn calories. I love being connected to the coaches and other members! The coaches genuinely care about their members' improvement! What ultimately attracted me was understanding it's not just a workout but a mindset! You simultaneously strengthen your physical health as well as your mental capacity and toughness! Getting out of your comfort zone and trying anything new will always be challenging and strange at first but starting where you're at and staying consistent are the keys to success (in jiu jitsu yes but also every area of life you want to grow in! Small choices every day add up to make you an "overnight" champion!) Overall, I found much more than a good workout; this is a holistic approach to lifestyle wellness. I realized I've got nothing to lose and everything to gain by giving it a shot-- who knows, you might surprise yourself and learn something new!
