I like this gym, it's a bit more like a club than purely a gym, but I don't really use the club…read morefacilities so the gym part is what I'm reviewing here. No tennis, no pool, no snack bar. Anyway, there are three key things for me when it comes to a gym. First is cleanliness, second is shower facilities, third is equipment. AVAC is a relatively small gym and I tend to go at off hours. This means not many people, so thankfully it's very clean inside. If you think about a 24 Hour Fitness or similar, they have hundreds of people constantly working out, there's no way to uphold hygiene standards. AVAC, despite being small, has frequent cleanings happening, which is nice. The showers at AVAC are... okay. On the plus side, they provide towels, which is a dealbreaker for me. Who wants to bring their own towel to a gym? So that's a big convenience factor. The towels have been bleached and washed to the point they are marginally more absorbent than copy paper and quite rough, but I guess a towel is a towel. The showers themselves are workable but not ideal. Communal in nature, which I personally find awkward, but going at off hours at least allows me to have them to myself or only 1-2 others at most. If it was packed I'd probably wait, it's just too weird. The shampoo and body wash are not very high quality, kind of reminds me of what you'd get at a cheap motel. But again, at least it's there. I also don't want to cart my own soap around. For the gym's size, the equipment variety and quantity is good. I've never not been able to get a treadmill, I've always been able to get the free weights I want, and there are usually benches available. The only thing in short supplies are squat racks, of which there are two, and space for deadlifts, which is basically also two. I would say the gym's clientele leans towards... not people doing those types of exercise. So I haven't typically had to wait, but again I also don't go at peak hours. There are also tons of machines, if you're the type of person who thinks isolation exercises are good. Better than nothing I suppose, but that's just me. AVAC offers a lot of free classes, of which I've taken none. They also have a snack bar, which I've never used. There's also a pool (not the swim school pool which is like 2.5' high) and a kiddie pool outside, neither of which I've been in. And there are tennis courts and pickleball and some outdoor fitness area, which, you guessed it, I have never been to. I wouldn't say AVAC is a destination gym the way Bay Clubs are, but if you're closeby it's probably the best one around. They also have plenty of parking in back in two lots.

I basically come to use the weight machines and then I use the treadmill. My only complaint in that regard is that half of the treadmills don't have the heart rate sensor working. Very frustrating. Lucky for me, I have an Apple Watch and can check that out on my own later on. My other big complaint is what they have on the tvs. Look, most of us come there to workout which is part of stress relief. I'm on the treadmill, have my music playing in my ears and then I am forced to stare at all of the tvs that have the news on the screens. For those 30 minutes or so, I DO NOT want to stare on the friggin news! It could be so much nicer if they had something relaxing and calming like a nature scene. I can't believe that most people want to look at the news right now. We see enough of it and our brains need a break. Anyway, besides those two issues, I am very happy with Planet Fitness.

Forgot the young man's name that gave us the tour, but he was very professional and personable. Price - Affordable. Owner Comment - Congrats on this location for the last 8 years...? My wife and I just finished our first class at F45 Branham Park, and wow, it was a whole new level…read moreof tough. The workout was called "West Hollywood" - 27 stations, full-body - and it absolutely kicked our butts. I'm not the fittest person and definitely have a lot to work on, so I felt gassed out pretty quickly, especially during the core exercises. It was way different from what I'm used to at Orangetheory, which I've been doing for a couple of months now, and definitely more intense in its own way. Coaches Michelle and Rudy were awesome - they really made sure we didn't feel overwhelmed and were super encouraging. They kept the energy high and took the time to help us get through each station without feeling too lost. It was tough and challenging, no doubt, and I can see why people get hooked - it feels like you're pushing yourself in a way that makes you leave everything out on the floor. There's a reason Mark Wahlberg is a promoter of F45; you leave feeling like you're ready to fight your way through an action movie. If you're ready for an all-out sweat and a solid workout that pushes your limits, F45 is definitely worth a try. Just be ready to feel those core muscles the next day - I know I will!

Ive reached fitness goals that i never thought were achievable thanks in largely to coach Michelle. When I first came to class I couldn't deadlift - now I can deadlift almost 200 lbs! Coach Michelle has also helped me greatly with my nutrition, mobility, and overall self esteem. On top of all the fitness achievements, I've met some of my best friends at f45. This is largely in thanks to coach Peggy who made me feel welcome from day 1 and constantly sets up events for our members to socialize and become friends outside of their workout. Coach Peggy has a way of making you feel valued and important to the community on days you don't want to show up. I love f45 BP and can't recommend it enough!

Dropping another review after my experience with UFC Fit Oakridge over the past 2.5 years…read more I have been training with Andrew Tran (AJ), who is a MMA coach at UFC Fit, all throughout the past 2.5 years and it's been one of the best decisions I've made. AJ focuses on the fundamentals so my boxing and kick-boxing form and knowledge has improved drastically which has increased my confidence and overall physical fitness. We do drills and technical sparring (not trying to hurt each other); it's the best workout I incorporate through the week and it's been life changing. Thank you AJ

I've worked out my entire life, but training with her has truly taken me to the next level. Her positive energy is contagious--she brings an encouraging, can‑do attitude to every session that makes even the toughest workouts feel achievable. What really sets her apart is how holistic her approach is. She's not just focused on workouts; she's also been an incredible source of life coaching, helping me stay accountable, build better habits, and maintain a healthier mindset overall. Her nutrition recommendations have been practical, sustainable, and tailored to my goals, which made all the difference. Because of her guidance, I've been able to recomposition my body in ways I never managed on my own. I feel more toned, stronger, and more confident than ever. I'm genuinely grateful for the expertise, support, and motivation she brings to every session. Highly recommend to anyone looking to elevate their fitness and overall well‑being!!!

I think I got there around 6 PM. There was a line 3 deep waiting for two fly machines. There was an individual that was actually putting their phone down on the fly machine and then walking over to the barbells across the gym, doing a set and then coming back to the fly machine and doing a set. The three of us were looking at each other like does the world revolve around this person? Clearly the answer was no. I asked this person what they were doing...and they said I'm supersetting. So I asked this person, how long were they going to superset? They said, I'll be here a long time. Really? Not during Peak hours. Sorry. When I went to change the weight on the fly machine, they got in my face and "management" and I do use that term loosely, intervened. Rather than telling this person that it was PEAK hours, and there was a line 3 deep waiting for the fly machine, he asked the other person on the fly machine how many sets they had left? Then he turned to me as well as the two other people that were patiently waiting and said..."he's almost done, perhaps you can wait"? So let me paraphrase this for all of you. During PEAK hours when there is a line of paying customers waiting for a machine, it's OK to save it while you go off and do a totally different exercise...again, while we all wait patiently for a customer that has zero respect for their peers. Ok. Got it. To "management"... and you know who you are. You're talking to a guy that's owned two really large software companies. You'd know who they are. I say that not to impress you, but I say that because I have a little experience in "management". It's a really hard job. It requires you to make very tough decisions that are sometimes not favorable. But some people are not cut out for management. I don't think that's you. Next time make the right decision. The tough decision. I think you've got it in you. Besides, I'd rather not head over to Planet Fitness...wink-wink.
