If you take 2, I'll take two" & he 1000% meant it. In the last 4 months I've worked with mike, I not only completed a life goal of stepping on stage as a competitor but I'm the healthiest as well. The most mind boggling thing working with mike is easily his knowledge of body building and everything that comes with it. From nutrition to muscle growth and he just naturally shares it with you as you work with him. I've learned more in 4 months than I did the past years lifting on my own. The best part is that the best is to come. Mike is an awesome coach who is selfless and reliable. Glad I get work with him. Check out my transformation

Over time, I have trained with some of their trainers one on one and have gained so much knowledge of the world of fitness. From Chris's teachings of conditioning and boxing, to Dom's motivation to achieve my personal record lifts, to Kathy telling me to raise one vertebrae at a time while sweating in yoga, to Cody telling me to "go to failure" when asking how many reps I have to do, these are just a few of the different teachings each trainer has to offer. Over time, I have seen how much they care about their clients and am always astounded by how much their clients grow as they spend their time with The Fit Clinic team. I will always recommend people to the Fit Clinic. You wanna lose weight? The Fit Clinic. You wanna gain muscle? The Fit Clinic. You wanna have a detailed meal plan to fit the diet to reach your goal? The Fit Clinic. The Fit Clinic team always knows how to make each client feel welcome and come into this community of people that help each other grow to their highest potential. [Motion. Muscle. The workout was called "West Hollywood" - 27 stations, full-body - and it absolutely kicked our butts. I'm not the fittest person and definitely have a lot to work on, so I felt gassed out pretty quickly, especially during the core exercises. It was way different from what I'm used to at Orangetheory, which I've been doing for a couple of months now, and definitely more intense in its own way. Coaches Michelle and Rudy were awesome - they really made sure we didn't feel overwhelmed and were super encouraging. They kept the energy high and took the time to help us get through each station without feeling too lost. It was tough and challenging, no doubt, and I can see why people get hooked - it feels like you're pushing yourself in a way that makes you leave everything out on the floor. There's a reason Mark Wahlberg is a promoter of F45; you leave feeling like you're ready to fight your way through an action movie. If you're ready for an all-out sweat and a solid workout that pushes your limits, F45 is definitely worth a try. Just be ready to feel those core muscles the next day - I know I will!

Ive reached fitness goals that i never thought were achievable thanks in largely to coach Michelle. When I first came to class I couldn't deadlift - now I can deadlift almost 200 lbs! Coach Michelle has also helped me greatly with my nutrition, mobility, and overall self esteem. On top of all the fitness achievements, I've met some of my best friends at f45. This is largely in thanks to coach Peggy who made me feel welcome from day 1 and constantly sets up events for our members to socialize and become friends outside of their workout. Coach Peggy has a way of making you feel valued and important to the community on days you don't want to show up. I love f45 BP and can't recommend it enough!

She has put me through diverse workout routines based on goals we discuss, and we have so far hit each and every goal! And I was not an easy case. I was a case that needed attention to subtle detail, to eliminate injury/cheat patterns while increasing strength. She has a focus and understanding of good posture and form. It is hard to find trainers who understand good form, let alone be dedicated to ensuring you achieve it. She does this by being creative, and finding the right workout routines to build strength to achieve form in more challenging routines. Most clients like to sweat, and you most certainly will, even more so when you don't get to cheat with your form (ouch)! Training with Lea, you will achieve your goals, increase your strength, while preventing, and even eliminating, injury patterns through good form. I have a lot of respect for Lea, and over the years, she has become a friend, in addition to a fantastic coach that challenges me.

I'm a full time working mother so you can imagine my time is super limited. Lea is also a mother and she understands how hard it is for people like me to make time for myself. Lea keeps my workouts challenging and is always pushing me to the next level. I never lifted heavy before and now I am OBSESSED with weights because of Lea. She always has a way to keep things fresh and interesting. Oh, and she knows how to read me REALLY well. If I am tired or a bit down, she knows it without me even saying a word. Then, later that week during my session, he seemed very angry but incredibly passive aggressive. He said I could not reschedule and he's keeping my $75 for that session. I was shocked, caught off-guard because I followed his guidelines. I went back and looked at my texts, not only did I follow his policy, but we supported his business through covid so you'd think we would have at least ONE conversation over the 1.5 years in regards to rescheduling or his dissatisfaction. Since day 1, I was very open about how we needed flexibility in our busy schedules. Later that week, he texted me wanting to drop us as clients (surprised, but completely fine with it) and said he'd refund my 8 sessions for the rest of the month. Well, I can clearly count to 9, so I let him know he owed me for 2 sessions (Sunday + this one). Yeah, he tried to steal from us 2 times. I gave him a chance to explain himself, this was the professional and kind response I got from him via text, he told us to go F*** ourselves (see screenshot, thanks Keith for the evidence!). I also noticed he did not honor his off-peak hours 9am-11am at $40/session. Beware of this owner and his business practices. I will be going back to all my monthly Venmo payments to ensure he didn't overcharge us. More than happy to resolve this issue still and looking to get our money back. Next step will be to report to consumer protection bureaus. I will update this review if anything changes.

Anyway, there are three key things for me when it comes to a gym. First is cleanliness, second is shower facilities, third is equipment. AVAC is a relatively small gym and I tend to go at off hours. This means not many people, so thankfully it's very clean inside. If you think about a 24 Hour Fitness or similar, they have hundreds of people constantly working out, there's no way to uphold hygiene standards. AVAC, despite being small, has frequent cleanings happening, which is nice. The showers at AVAC are... okay. On the plus side, they provide towels, which is a dealbreaker for me. Who wants to bring their own towel to a gym? So that's a big convenience factor. The towels have been bleached and washed to the point they are marginally more absorbent than copy paper and quite rough, but I guess a towel is a towel. The showers themselves are workable but not ideal. Communal in nature, which I personally find awkward, but going at off hours at least allows me to have them to myself or only 1-2 others at most. If it was packed I'd probably wait, it's just too weird. The shampoo and body wash are not very high quality, kind of reminds me of what you'd get at a cheap motel. But again, at least it's there. I also don't want to cart my own soap around. For the gym's size, the equipment variety and quantity is good. I've never not been able to get a treadmill, I've always been able to get the free weights I want, and there are usually benches available. The only thing in short supplies are squat racks, of which there are two, and space for deadlifts, which is basically also two. I would say the gym's clientele leans towards... not people doing those types of exercise. So I haven't typically had to wait, but again I also don't go at peak hours. There are also tons of machines, if you're the type of person who thinks isolation exercises are good. Better than nothing I suppose, but that's just me. AVAC offers a lot of free classes, of which I've taken none. They also have a snack bar, which I've never used. There's also a pool (not the swim school pool which is like 2.5' high) and a kiddie pool outside, neither of which I've been in. And there are tennis courts and pickleball and some outdoor fitness area, which, you guessed it, I have never been to. I wouldn't say AVAC is a destination gym the way Bay Clubs are, but if you're closeby it's probably the best one around. They also have plenty of parking in back in two lots.
