I have used To The Point Sharpening for maybe 5-6 years, he has always been good, attentive. Last time we used him in our salon, all our tools were all choppy, the most expensive shears and also our clippers. I couldn't cut, my shears were so bad he he said I fix them or money back . My shears costs over $2000, I paid 60 something for sharpening, I didn't want to take the chance of more damage. I sent them to two different shear specialist and they could not fix them. I told dave what damage it did and he said , best of luck, it was good knowing you. I'm left with having to pay for new shears. The other stylist still has issues with his clipper blades, but he is looking for someone else to help repair them. So unfortunate, he brushed us off and it's so frustrating. read more

SALONS STEER CLEAR, DAVE HAS RUINED TONS OF SHEARS. While Dave was in our parking lot sharpening our shears, someone came in and warned us that he had ruined thousands of dollars of shears at their salon. At this point, the damage was done, most of our shears did not cut right after he returned them. Our new sharpener told me that Dave took 80% of my shears' lifespan off in one sharpening, it it was the same for others in the salon too. Apparently Dave is known to damage shears and many salons in our area steer clear of him now. He would also be in his van sharpening while his severely overweight dog would walk freely around the parking lot off leash. read more

Even though it was late, Dave came to my house and picked them up to sharpen. The next day, he sharpened and returned the scissors and all my cooking including a bread knife that is serrated. I had them back in time to make dinner that evening! The knives are sharper now than when I first bought them! It makes a huge difference when cooking. I was able to slice limes paper thin for example. Even though I'm just a homemaker, he gave me a professional level of service. I'm never going back to cutting with a dull knife again. Got a rusty wood-splitting axe resharpened. All the rust got removed and the edge has a nice gleam. Haven't put the axe to use yet but looking forward to it. The service was prompt and inexpensive. The guy must be sharpening stuff at home because we dropped and picked up the axe at a residential address (the house with a large American flag in front - my husband found out the guy is former military).
