Located right on the main drag in a historic store front building. Street parking only or park near by and walk in. Inside the place is pretty big, and as I understand it, this used to be a furniture store back in the day. The elevator to the second floor is still here, and so I'm told it still works. There is a nice framed piece of artwork telling a little history, and information about the wood used in the bar close to the restrooms. So cool. Which, by the way were spotless clean and fresh smelling. The entire place was squeaky clean, I didnt even see 1 dust particle in here anywhere. While enjoying a beer in here I can almost see visions of the past with shoppers looking at a new living room set, and end tables with nice lamps. Just everyday people living their life trying to improve quality of living. Kind of proud that they made enough money at the plant to afford these nice things. Or maybe it was the 8.7 % ABV Doppnator having its effect?? Either way this is what I do know.. I am greeted and welcomed each and every time I come here. The service is excellent. Samples, pints, flights, growlers, are all available no problem. Their beer is simply amazing, with something for everybody. Some of the best beer in the greater Triad, Triangle area. Trust me, that is saying a lot! Its really nice when people include a little history and a nod to the past when they up fit a building for a new purpose. To me it kind of gives you a sense of direction. So let me break it down. Cleanliness, 5 stars. Service and attitude, 5 stars. Beer, 5 stars. Mojo, 500 stars. Nice work Toasty Kettlyst!

A nice spot in a quaint, cute town. The owners are super nice. Maria, co-owner and bartender is the sweetest person to talk to. My favorites were the Gateway IPA, the porter and the stout

My husband and I love to come to Toasty Kettlyst in Gibsonville. I taste tested several, but landed on the Alt Refresh, which is an American Wheat Beer. My husband settled on the Doppnator Limited Edition, which is a Doppelbock. The atmosphere is clean and open with a sort of industrial feel and there is free WiFi while you stay. All of the beer is brewed right here in house by the two friendly owners. They also have wine from the local Grove Winery if beer isn't your "thing".

This review is really a 3.5 star rounded up. It's been 8 years since my last visit to Whitsett and…read morethe Red Oak Lagerhaus and Biergarten and I was excited to return. This visit was prompted by the recent opening of the Wursthaus that is serving up food consistently in addition to the food truck that is often on property. The inside of the lagerhaus is as lovely as I remember. I got a 6 beer flight so I could sample most of their delicious beers. There was steady business but it didn't feel too busy/full inside. Some people were opting to be outside at the fire pits. Not me. We stepped out to the Wursthaus to get lunch. The menu is pretty limited: Brat, Brat bites (cut up with no bun), frankfurter, and pretzel. Not sure if there is a launch menu or if this will be permanent. I got the hot dog with onions and I requested the mustard (that you "HAVE TO REQUEST" per the sign). It was fine. The mustard wasn't included so I had to return to the wursthaus window to get it. The bun was soft and the frankfurter a good size, overhanging the bun. The limited topping options and the DIY nature of the mustard was a little disappointing. My biggest gripe with this place is it feels like going to my grandparents house: there are so many rules. Don't back into parking spaces No kids Don't step on the grates Open door slowly No outside food And maybe there were more. Just feels really uptight for a nice space that probably should feel more relaxed. :shrug Still, I'll return for beer in the future.

The tuna was fresh, flavorful, and overall the dish tasted great. My only critique is that there was hardly any quinoa. When I hear "quinoa bowl," I picture something more like a rice bowl where quinoa is the main base -- but this felt more like a salad with a small scoop of quinoa. Still good, just a little misleading name-wise. Drinks were solid, staff was nice and friendly, and service was smooth. Total came to $57.94, which felt a little pricey for what we ordered, but not outrageous for the area and waterfront location. Also worth noting: they are not pet-friendly inside, so keep that in mind if you're out with your pup. Overall -- great food and good drinks, just slightly pricey and the bowl name set different expectations.

It's a wonderful "hang out and have a few drinks while catching up spot." But now they've added a much improved food menu that really has a lot of options and even some late-night eats which I'm sure is popular. They've also rounded out the drinks offerings a bit more than the last time I was here a few years ago.
