Toasty Toes is a great company! I ordered split kiln dried wood to be delivered to my home. I did this online at their website after seeing their ad on Craigslist. I opted for the racks with the covers and needs it placed at the front and back entrance of my home. I was emailed within the hour with a delivery date & time. It was the next day! How awesome is that? Gene, the owner, had emailed me that I was overcharged on website and he gave me a credit! That was helpful! Gene showed up , truck full of wood, stacked everything nicely . Very friendly! I love this product. It's all there on the website. No one comes and dumps it in the driveway . I needed this delivery to be a little bit more user friendly! THE COMPANY AND THE PEOPLE: What a nice surprise... A great family run business... Over the years i have found the ability to find good firewood and good service a bit difficult... During the winter months they are all too busy to really care and during the summer months barely available!!!. Toasty Toes, Gene and his family certainly reverse those thoughts... I needed wood delivered for a big party i am having this weekend, and really wanted to move away from seasoned wood to Kiln dried, with a lot of people and in general just being fed up with the smoke and popping embers of a lot of wood we have used in the past particularly for our fire pit, i needed a change. After leaving messages for a few of the companies i found when searching and getting no response for THREE days a friend told me about Toasty Toes.... Gene answered on the first ring, needed to confirm he had the Rack i wanted delivered with the wood..... 30 minutes later a text confirmed he did, and he wood (lol) be at my house by 10 THE NEXT MORNING!!! He and his son arrived promptly right on time, and in the 90+ degree heat had my rack built positioned, and loaded with beautiful, consistent in size, kiln dried wood, covered the rack, left me a bunch of kindling.....I couldn't have been happier!!!!!!! We talked a bit further, and i explained my need for smaller sized kiln dried wood for use in my smoker and pizza oven, and Gene could not have been more accommodating, asking the size i need, type of wool and when i would like it delivered....he even offered to deliver it large wheeled garbage cans (my preference for storage) so i wouldn't have to deal with it. Again just the extra mile we so rarely see taken these days. THE WOOD: Perfect Kiln Dried, our fire last night was a blaze in minutes, no battles with tons of kindling or lighter fluid, the dried wood lit quickly, and in a short time our family was enjoying smokes over a great bed of embers, a fire with literally no smoke, and no popping flying embers to deal with, or be concerned with.....smores are much more fun when your not tending to the fire half the time.... Really happy with my interactions with Toasty Toes! Just moved to the East Coast from CA, so I'm adjusting to the cold weather. There's a delightful little wood stove in my new home, but it only takes very small pieces of firewood. Good, small logs can be hard to come by in bulk, so I was delighted to find that Toasty Toes StoryStarter bags contained logs that would fit perfectly in the stove. Since I'm a new stove user and wasn't sure if I would like it (turns out, I do!), I was reluctant to buy the minimum number of bags that Toasty Toes requires for a standalone delivery. But when I reached out to them to explain my situation, they happily accommodated me by agreeing to tack my smaller order onto another full-sized delivery in my area. (I still paid for delivery, of course, but I was happy to do so.) Since they don't get to my area as frequently as other places in CT, I worried it might take a while to get the wood, but they made it up to me in a week, which worked perfectly for me. Built the first fire that night and the wood was great: bone dry, started easily, burned clean. They were also just very nice. Good product, good service, good price.
