The first thing you see on the Timberline Website is "Call us for Free Estimates" I did call, told them I want them to look at 2 evergreens with yellowing leaves. I again asked them if the estimates are free the person who answered the phone said "absolutely". Two days later someone from Timberline called to make an appointment and told me the estimate costs $200. I told him that is not what the website or the person who answered the phone said. He told me the estimate is free only if we cut down the tree. That is not what is written. How can you trust a place that has false advertisement and lies before you use them . Did an absolutely beautiful job. Careful of other shrubs and bushes. Trees in question were in a difficult spot .Workers were so careful of skylights and roof very organized and professional. My husband grew these trees from babies , I couldn't believe he was going to have them cut down because they were encroaching over roof . My daughter and I saw your company working on a property near by and encouraged him to call and NOT CUT TREES DOWN.. They are still with us and beautiful. Timberline was the first tree service to call us back, and had an estimator out to our house that afternoon, who gave us a fair price. They scheduled us in a matter of days and by the end of the week had a full crew with cranes at our home. They removed 4 trees from the property. They came over on time and gave both me and my neighbor a very very fair and detailed estimate. They then followed up with dates to complete the work . They arrived today, September 8, 2021 and I could not praise this company enough. that's a 46" diameter oak tree landing in the tiniest of drop zones on top of a stone retaining wall that is protected by tires. clearly, these guys are real good and worth every penny. all told, we had 8 very dangerous trees removed over 3+ days (still a bit left to go - one more minor day left). my property is on a steep hill, off a one lane road, and with a long narrow driveway. not easy to get big equipment in and out, and is just overall an impossible space to drop some monster trees. they had a plan to deal with it all, and executed it to perfection. bring on the next nor'easter, my family will be sleeping just fine thanks to these guys. wasn't cheap, but when you have problems like this you spend a bit more to deal with the pros. i'd do it again in a heartbeat. read more

Just a few months after moving in to our new home, a huge (40 ft+) tree in the backyard fell during a winter storm in March and missed our house by no more than 6 inches. Left standing were 3 other large 40-60ft trees all leaning in toward our house. Thankfully Timberline was able to come remove our trees before they could cause any serious damage to our home. It was extremely effortless to set up an appointment for an estimate and they came out within the week to give a thorough quote. Steve was very professional and informative; he told us all about each tree, the exact process his team would follow to remove each one, what tools and trucks would be used, and estimated time frame of when they could come out to get the job done. The team worked SO efficiently and removed 3 extremely large trees and cleaned up everything in under 4 hours on a Saturday morning. There were a few holes in our lawn after everything was said and done, but that is expected when having such large trees cut and removed. We obtained quotes from 2 other companies and Timberline was slightly more expensive, however, they were able to come out quickly while the other company told us they were about 4-6 weeks out. read more

We had a problem in Oct/Nov of 2011 when a freak snowstorm toppled a huge tree in our backyard. Lots of tree people were called and given the gravity of the situation we knew it would take a while for someone to come out since it wasn't an emergency. They came in mid-November and in about an hour with a crew of 4 had the whole thing gone. They did whatever was possible to shove pieces of it in their truck to get rid of it, even put in some compartments and back rows of trucks just to get it out of there. I was impressed given the fact that they worked their rear-end's off with all the trees that were down in our area. Enter July of 2012 when we had some dead branches over the house that needed to come down. Made an appointment and a few days later someone was out once again with a quote. Price was great for the work and we went ahead. It took a while to coordinate schedules but that's a bit my fault and the weather's fault. They came out again, this time with a crew of three and climbed all over the place. Realized that the work order was not complete as they were cleaning up and they were more than happy to get their gear on and go right back on up, no questions asked, no rude attitude, nothing!! Mark came out on a weekend to give me a estimate on removing 2 trees, pruning a few other trees, and 10 yard sod mulch for my landscape. He showed up on time for the estimate and even confirmed in the morning. Gave a very fair price, and came about a month later as promised, did the job with out damaging my yard. The best part is that mark suggested a better solution then the original plan, and then he decrease the quote price on the estimate!!!!!!! Yes, he decreased..... saved me money! Timberline definitely gave us the best quote to take down one very large tree, one small tree, and grind two stumps. However, they were difficult with scheduling a date to begin the job, took weeks to return to grind down the stumps, and left a complete mess in my yard. When they finally returned to complete the job, they claimed they could not clean up majority of the wood chips, requiring us to hire a landscaper to remove all of the chips for $650!!! Cleanup should have been included in the job!!! This job cost us a ridiculous amount of money and took too long to be completed. read more

Steve n his crew are really hard working. They show up on time work hard and are respectful of the homeowners wishes and property. Domingas ran the crew that came to my house, they thanked me about 5 times each for the water I gave them and about 10 times each when I bought them lunch. Work work. work never loud or vulger always pleasant. In between cuts one man was up in a tree and he was singing and it sounded great. At the end of the day the only way you could tell a tree service was there was by the low stumps in the ground. Very neat very professional and they all come to say goodbye after the cleanup. Our experience with Timberline was great. We recently moved to one of the River Towns in Westchester and had a lot of overgrown trees on the property. Upon calling the office, Steve, the owner, came out the same day and gave me an estimate before he left the property. As far as pricing, Steve took into account the scope of work and provided a fair price (we had two other services submit bids for comparison). They provided all the documents we needed for our tree removal application (supporting letter from arborist and insurance certificate) in a timely manner. Communication was clear and expectations were met. As far as the work, they did a great job. They worked hard and carefully. Their arborist, Mark, came by and we talked about some other trees to be planted as well. He gave us some incredible ideas and the trees he recommended are amazing. He recommended a Shirazz Japanese Maple, a Coral Bark Japenese Maple, and a weeping cherry. The trees were beautiful when they planted, the workman did a really really great job and now my yard looks fantastic. These guys are the only people you need to call. I can't give a fair rating because they didn't show up after having a set appointment for a MONTH. Canceled the night before, blamed it on the rain. I don't think I was even on the schedule honestly. I had to go through the pain of meeting with a bunch of new companies after this snafu which included IMO trying to send a "backup" company to do the work a week later. Seemed shady. Very disappointed but after meeting with SIX other companies I am going with a good reputable company but have to wait until August for the work to be done. A big waste of time. read more
