There were alot of long stained carpets, and dinged up shelving, in a way Macys never would have allowed years ago. I expect that from the second line type places that come in after the major chains leave, but was surprised to see it in an establishment that one would think takes itself seriously. The Ocala Macy's was so dirty I could not believe this proud department-store chain would let a store deteriorate like this. The ladies room was not just filthy -- which it was -- but it also had cracked, dirty floors, plumbing fixtures that were so outdated I was amazed they worked and why is the toilet 6 inches off the floor?. Honestly, I have seen gas-station restrooms that would put this one to shame, and not in a god way. To add insult to smelly injury: I could not find a clerk to ring up my merchandise. I finally left in disgust. I will not be going back.

There CAN be some deals. Sometimes. Many times there are no deals. Housewares, Linens, Luggage, Tableware are all overpriced and sitting at the top of that range that should be charged for these items. You can get many comparable and exact same items elsewhere for much cheaper. Shoes? Very well priced especially for their sale racks. Handbags? Some cute some very well priced and some in the stratosphere. Dillards actually caries real Luis Vuitton handbags and luggage but.... I am not an LV consumer. Clothes... great when there are sales. You have to watch for deals, coupons and price slashing before during and after holidays. I was just recently very successful with the purchase of a makeup bag that is perfect for my trip coming up. Normally I wouldn't pay $48.00 actually $52.00 for a makeup bag but I believe I will keep this one for quite some time. The lady that helped me in the cosmetics section kept me in her "sights" while I was shopping around the entire store... she didn't want to miss getting credit for my purchase. I liked her though... we had a laugh or two.

We were approached by a woman and what I would describe as a small uniform who mumbled something to us, which we couldn't quite understand. She walked on and we continued eating. A short time later, a man wearing the same uniform approach and said rather rudely "Didn't she tell you to move. This section is closed." I asked how I was supposed to know that, and was pointed to some collection of ropes that apparently blocked off one side of the food court, and told "common sense" in a very condescending tone e. We got up and moved, frustrated by the incredibly rude treatment. In this time of reduced foot, traffic and shopping malls, I cannot believe that the Management would want staff to treat customers so rudely. Based on this, I assure you, I will never return to this particular mall. I expect it will probably be closed and turned into a storage facility or something similar in the near future. Well deserved.

The only answer I can come up with is the parking lot and location but now since I'm utilizing the gym in this area more frequently I made my way over to check it out! The parking lot is fantastic and there is a beautiful Sephora located inside. There is a decent variety of options for everything you may want. I was looking at the athletic wear. I even had spoken to a sales associate about an item I had found wondering if there was another available and she was very willing to look for me and even looked on the computer which I thought was very kind and thorough. There was a clearance rack wear I found some fabulous discounts and there were other sales going on. Some of the original prices may be on the higher side but if you know how to shop Kohl's I think that you can do very well. There are always discounts, Kohl's cash, 15 percent off senior day on Wednesdays,15 percent off military and veterans on Mondays ! Stop in a check it out. I visited to return an item I purchased online because it was missing a piece. When I went to the…read morecashier in the front of the store, she referred me to the back of the store, where customer service was located. I was annoyed but fine. There was someone in front of me being assisted and I did not wait long. The staff member was very friendly, quick, and personable. The transaction took maybe 5 minutes. I then decided to browse the store since I was given Kohl's cash as part of my refund. I did not see anything I really needed though. The store was actually pretty big in size. Everything was laid out on the same floor and somewhat easy to maneuver. I went through so many departments. I think I browsed through all departments except for the children's sections. The clearance items were scattered in different places so if you were looking for a specific clearance or sale sign, you would be out of luck. The store was tidy for the most part and clean. It was also nice because there were barely any shoppers, which I definitely prefer. I wound up leaving after looking through everything because ya know, budgeting!
