Specifically, we were looking for interior shutters, which are very expensive but last forever and gave our house an elegance that couldn't be beat. Unfortunately I found that when you measure for them and order them, being off by even a quarter-inch would be enough to ruin the whole thing, so I wanted to find the best. Enter Mark Obrycki. Mark walked us through every step of the process, helping us choose colors, frames, and explaining what he would be doing to make everything look perfect. He measured, ordered, and installed the shutters for us, and got it right the first time (no easy task!) More importantly, he did all the little stuff. He took his shoes off at the door every time he came in and out of the house without being asked. He dusted off high places in our house we normally wouldn't reach. He was kind, generous, and friendly. He put down cloths to catch wood and drywall dust when he was screwing into our walls and casement. In short, he was a perfect professional. A joy to work with. He has a very calm, kind bedside manner and sort of oozes honesty and forthrightness. It's a rare thing to find. His quote was pretty similar to a lot of the other folks who do shutters, and actually a little lower than most. For the money, I'm sure you can't find better service. I'd recommend him for any window treatment job you've got.

She managed expectations well, noting they wouldn't be 100% pitch black but would be a massive upgrade from our basic $200 Home Depot blinds we installed ourselves. Based on that promise, we invested over $2,000. The installation process was a total disaster. It took three separate appointments just to get them up. The first two times they arrived with zero knowledge of how to install the product. The third time he arrived, he admitted he had never put these exact blinds in before and actually suggested using double-sided tape at one point. Now that they are finally up, the performance is terrible--they let in a ton of light and aren't at all we had hoped for. When we reached out with photos/videos to check if they were even installed correctly, it took days to get a generic response telling us everything looks okay. I requested a call from a manager days ago and have been completely ignored. For a premium $2k+ price tag for 4 windows, the product, installation quality, and customer service have been completely unacceptable. Save your money and look elsewhere.

I called Tim Hertaus's business this afternoon, as he was the closest to my residence, with the hope he could point me in the right direction. Tim returned my call promptly, walked me through the steps to get the proper information regarding manufacture, size, pictures etc. He offered to call the manufacturer and see what he could do. Tim suggested patience as getting in touch with the right people may take a few days. I received a text from Tim less than two hours later telling me to expect new shade to be shipped to me in 2-4 weeks! Tim went above and beyond my expectations and isn't charging me anything. Writing this review is one way I can return his kindness, knowledge and generosity. I know if I need to purchase window treatments in the future, Tim is the first and only call I will make!
