We found ourselves on the southeast side of Ocala and decided to check out Todd & Shelly's Cafe in Belleview. Definitely a down-home, small town look and feel. No frills, and completely unpretentious. But most importantly, the food was outstanding! The patty melt was not all bread - nice big patty hot (and I mean hot!) off the griddle! The Greek pasta salad was good and the home fries were - for me - perfect. Crispy edges and smoosh centers. The eggs and bacon were cooked exactly to order and the specialty pancake! Wow! Picking up from the servers talking to other customers, Todd was cooking - Thanks Todd! It was great!

Honeys, jams, and spreads for sale.

Awesome spot for breakfast and lunch (have not had dinner here), conveniently on 441. They also sell various unique condiments & spreads. I particularly like their generously-sized wraps, dip sandwiches, strawberry tea, and breakfast combos. I also like the restaurant's construction, outdoor seating (and swings!), and eye-catching sign.

The Ocala Downtown Market puts the actual "farm" back in farmer's market…read more Unlike those pseudo farmers markets out in California where people discuss their heirloom tomatoes, this place is where folks casually mention their cattle count and debate chicken acquisitions like they're discussing the weather. But don't let the farm talk fool you. There's serious variety here: grass fed beef suppliers, fresh eggs, wellness drink makers pushing sea moss and charcoal, potters working live, pottery, kitchen gear, clothing, and trinkets galore. It's a whole ecosystem of real farm life. I felt like I'd stepped directly into that world without actually being at a farm, which was wonderful until I realized my outfit didn't get the memo in my very short mini dress. Cute as can be, but everyone else was in jeans and tees. I stuck out like a designer purse at a livestock auction. Next time I'm definitely dressing down to blend in. The market is bustling and packed with options. You can skip Publix entirely and do all your grocery shopping here, just cheaper. Everything's cheaper. This is legitimately as close to farm life as you can get without actually stepping in cow manure. ... trust me, one wrong step in a mini dress and you will be fishing a high heel out of a very fresh cow pie.

This is one of my favorite things to do in Ocala. The market is only open on Saturdays from 9am-2pm, rain or shine. Other events are held here all other dates and times. I cannot stand the heat so I appreciate that the market is under a covered pavilion. There are some vendors that set up outside the pavilion because there is not enough room. The parking is free as well, with plenty of options in the surrounding areas. You don't have to walk far either. The market is extensive enough that you could easily spend 2-3 hours there. There are several food trucks you can purchase food and drinks from. Sipping Grounds is my favorite! They offer snacks, as well as coffee drinks, beer, wine, and mimosas. There are a variety of vendors, with many being staples each time I have visited. I usually stop by and purchase from the same vendors. There are several vendors selling vegetables and fruits, a farmer who sells cheese he makes, a seafood vendor, a vendor who sells dips, spices, and seasonings, another vendor sells oils & vinegars, bakery items are sold by several vendors, and usually there are a couple of vendors specializing in doggie treats. You can also sample a lot of these items, which is awesome. Of course there are vendors who sell jewelry, artwork, decor, pottery, etc.

I love walking around, checking out the booths, and finding new local treasures. One of my absolute musts now is a matcha drink from Honey Nitro + Cold Brew. I had never tried matcha before, but a friend recommended their version with vanilla or lavender, and oh my gosh, it was creamy, smooth, and totally addictive. I seriously didn't know I could love matcha this much! Pappa Thai's summer rolls are another go-to. They're fresh, flavorful, and honestly hit the spot every single time. Light but filling and perfect for walking around with. And I can't forget Proud Pickles, they're such a fun little stand, and I'm absolutely obsessed with their items. Sweet, tangy, spicy, you name it, they've got it. I'm giving 4 stars only because I wish there were a few more vendors but I understand Gainesville is a small town. But honestly, it's still such a lovely experience and totally worth checking out if you're in the area.

The parking is pretty easy and it seemed like there were plenty of spots, and all of the vendors I interacted with were very kind and friendly. The dining room is large and open with plenty of seating, including both tables and booths. Service was a little slow, but with only two servers working, it was understandable. They serve Coke products, which is always a plus for me. I appreciated being able to order the turkey club without any sides since I don't eat large portions. If you're hungry, the sandwiches normally come with two sides. I also ordered the French toast ($7.56) with no extras. It comes topped with powdered sugar, but I opted out. It was served on a small plate with no room for anything else. The French toast was made with standard bread and egg batter--nothing fancy, but it was prepared well and tasted good. The turkey club was substantial and satisfying. I would have preferred it cut into quarters like a traditional club sandwich, and the ingredients should have extended closer to the edges of the bread rather than being centered. It also could have used a bit more turkey. That said, the sandwich was juicy, flavorful, and tasted exactly like a turkey club should. Overall, a solid meal with generous portions, plenty of seating, and a comfortable atmosphere.

It got so bad that at contract renewal they were forced to accept new vendors but the quality of stands has been declining and the cost of goods is insanely high. We were pleasantly surprized to find a mix of food, crafts, and drinks on offer at the market. All the vendors we spoke to we're very friendly and gave a lot of information about their products. From honey, to 3D printing, to slime, to pastries, we found a wide variety of appealing products, vendors and people. I've always been a fan of supporting small businesses so it's great to see and hear from a lot of local ones. Looking forward to returning and seeing what is on offer the next Sunday we attend. Parking can be a little tricky in downtown celebration sometimes so always allow extra time and be prepared to have a short walk.
