However, there are significant administrative shortcomings. I called to discuss those issues and was disappointed to discover that this practice is currently operating without having an administrative office manager on staff. I simply asked to speak with the person in charge, left that message and awaited a return call. My phone rang almost immediately. It was Dr "Net," evidently he is the managing medical director for the practice. Instead of listening to my concerns, Dr Net proceeded to berate me. He accused me of using profanity, yet he declined to state what it was that I was alleged to have said. Instead he threatened to ban me from their practice. The reviews I read of this practice warned of Dr Net and recommended that I only see Dr Kiefer. Two other recent reviews specifically called out Dr Net for berating a patient over the phone. Like one of those patients, I am left feeling suicidal. Congratulations, Dr Net. Now I'm probably in the position of having to find another provider. This review will award three stars. That is the average between my five star experience with Dr Kiefer and my zero star experience with Dr Net.

He listened, encouraged questions, cared and came up w/ a plan that did not initially involve injections. He prescribed 2 medications and they have made a world of difference in my neck - I can hardly belive that it could feel so normal again. In addition to being an experienced and caring doctor, his breath and depth of knowledge is remarkable and his personality is exceptional. He made me feel so comfortable, encouraged questions and never made me feel rushed. Seven months ago I woke up w/ a neck problem so extreme that I could barely take a step without feeling severe pain. My PCP prescribed a medication that was too strong for me - it got rid of the pain AND my memory. Flash forward 7 months. During the 7 months of neck pain I met with a Physical Therapist who has helped me w/ exercises for various aches and pains over the years. This time w/ the exercises giving no relief and the neck pain so severe, I gave up and decided I would probably need cortocosteroid injections. I had an MRI and made an appointment w/ an Orthopedic Surgeon my PCP recommended. I had a folder with the recent cervical MRI and all the doctor's notes and reports from visits to previous doctors. The Orthopedic Surgeon had me take additional Xrays in his office. He immediately recommended I see a doctor for cortocosterioid injections in my neck. He didn't spend more than 7 minutes in the examining room and most of the time with his BACK to me -it was an odd experience. I tried to see the doctor he recommended but her staff made so many mistakes in making the appointment, telling me I had an appt on March 31, then after receiving many confirmation requests from them, when I called to ask a question, was told I didnt have an appt till April 7. I called again to ask about get injections and was told I did have a March 31 appt. It was all more than I wanted to deal with and canceled with her. I feel so fortunate that I got to quickly see Dr. John F. Dombrowski at the Washington Pain Center on New Mexico Ave, in NW DC . He was AMAZING. Without even looking at the MRI report and the Xrays, he told me exactly what the MRI report would say and what the Xrays would show - he is that experienced. AND best of all, Instead of getting an injection, he suggested I first try some medications. After taking one pill yesterday and one today, my neck already feels better. I can actually turn my head without wincing in pain. There was another patient who came in after me. Before Dr. Dombrowski saw him, he came to me to ask me a "favor"- would I mind if he saw the other patient before me as Dr. D. knew it would be a short appointment with the other patient. How many doctors would ask for your permission to do that or would they just do what they want? I have been kept waiting such long times at some offices, with no explanation being given from anyone, that I have walked out. The office waiting room is inviting and comfortable AND the receptionists are the nicest I have ever met. They both were so kind. I especially appreciated Kate helping me use the Ipad to fill out the forms and telling me I did not need to rush. IMHO, the people at the front desk can create a positive or negative feeling from the moment you walk into an office. For me, if the first people you meet in an office are too busy to look up and welcome you, that is not a good sign. Kate and the other receptionist created a very positive environment. I am thankful I found Dr. Dombrowski and his team. Am looking forward to returning in a couple weeks for a checkup!!

refused to see me for specific Interventional procedures I had been referred to his office by his…read morecolleagues for, simply because I made a passing (less than 10 second) comment in a 30+ minutr appt with his PA about how I hate how central sensitization theory is commonly used to under-investigate or under-treat peripheral sources of women's chronic pain conditions, including my own for several years. His PA told me in her response at the time that she (they?) did not view CS as being an exclusive pain generator and that it was also possible to have peripheral generators that had not healed with chronic pain. That was the end of our discussion and it took maybe 2 min of a 30+ min appt. I was at no time told that she was upset with my comments or that there was a conflict with me being able to continue receiving care at the clinic. While I was told they would try to collect my records and imaging prior to my appointment, they did not have any available at my appointment to review, nor did she physically examine me. I mention these last points because when Dr. Desai sent me the following email, it does not seem possible that he reviewed anything at my chart other than the PA's notes and my own paperwork/condition summaries (which detail my prior injuries and success with the procedure as I was asking him to repeat). His email came as quite a shock as a result, given that I was not combative about CS with his initial PA, nor had he or his staff physically examined me to determine whether this or other treatment was appropriate prior to sending that email. If he had worded his email to explain that he understood that CS could be used inappropriately and that was not the approach in his office, or really anything remotely patient-oriented I would not have minded him letting me know that this is a topic we would need to discuss further before continuing other treatments. However, his email struck me as an attempt to pressure to me to agree 100% within his entire chronic pain philosophy upfront in order to continue to access to care at his clinic in general, and that was a huge turnoff as a patient should be allowed to share their past clinical history without fear of it being used against them. On a separate note, as a trained (phd) researcher with expertise in research DEI and ethics issues, I find it upsetting when medical researchers conduct research -- especially using cross-sectional data -- to try to suggest causational links between conditions like CS and EDS. I am in local support groups for patients with EDS (and related conditions), and had over 20 women express similar frustration over Dr. Desai's email and research conclusions. This of course is a problem in academia and medical research beyond this office, but it would be nice if those conducting research cared enough to listen to the concerns of those they are conducting research on, rather than just shutting down conversation completely.

This is the second time I have experienced this problem with ROSM including previously in July with another doctor in the practice. Both times I was taken to an examining room in a timely manner and was left to wait in the room. After over 30 minutes, I left the room and spoke to one of the staff to ask if there was a problem. Both times I was told that the doctor was with another patient and would be in to see me in a while. My first complaint, therefore, is that it is not the patient's responsibility to determine why there is a delay. The doctor should instruct his/her staff to let the patient know that there is a delay and what are the patient's alternatives. Both times the staff person apologized for which I appreciate their apologies. An apology by a staff person, however, does not indicate that there will be any change in how waiting patients are informed of delays. On September 12, 2024, the staff person told me that the doctor was in a room with no clock, which is not an excuse but demonstrates poor planning by the doctor. Therefore, my second complaint is that the ROSM Washington, DC office is poorly managed and fails to properly plan appointment times for patients. I will not be returning to this practice for any reason.

Dr. Greene is a kind soul and born to be a doctor. In this day and age with much regulations doctors have to monitor and this practice takes that seriously. I wish I had the right insurance or funds to self pay and be able to see him again. He's the best pain management provider I've been treated by. He also has a highly talented and educated staff working with him. I'm no stranger to pain. I was a heptathlete from age 10 to 24 and twenty plus years later have much arthritis throughout my spine knee and shoulders to show for it. I've survived 2 car crashes into my car and a moving truck collision headon into a tree during a bad storm in which I suffered broken teeth and severe soft tissue injuries, sjc joint dislocation and vertebral strains that took over a year to treat and still being treated. I've had about 12 surgeries over the years to include my back and knee. So I understand pain from patient's perspective very well and how it can take over your life. I understand pain because of my Masters degree in biology: molecular science. Dr. Greene knows how what to do to get you back to your goals. I hope you will get to be seen by Dr. Greene. He takes time with each patient and really listens to each patient. Dr. Greene continuously researches to find innovative and the best treatments for his patients. While I was told prior to arrival that he and his staff were utilizing various precautions to keep patients safe, i didn't witness any of this in action.. the front staff didn't have their masks on 100% of the time, no one did any temperature checks as promised, I witnessed zero cleaning between patients, and the doctor himself literally rolled his eyes at me when I asked if he could put on a mask when he came into see me. He said they "treat people like they're normal" when I inquired about precautions, said he was healthy / I didn't need to worry about infecting him, and only put on a mask (halfway) when I insisted him wearing a mask was for my protection, not his. I wish I had listened to the other handful of horrible reviews on here - please save yourself the time and humiliation and stay away!

Dr. K performed my knee surgery and has been a great ortho doc for follow-up and future options for my other knee (my legs aren't straight (genetics)). His super knowledgable and does not recommend unnecessary tests, surgery, meds, etc. He will even go so far as to recommend physical therapy before advising on injections, surgery, etc. He also asks what you prefer and gives the options/possible outcomes with those options. He listens and gives his professional medical option after he hears what's going on with you. He also performed a rotator cuff surgery on my shoulder. Excellent bedside manners, explains everything, doesn't talk over you and follows up with you.

WARNING: WORDY! Summary: FIVE STARS! Best doctor ever,…read morerepresenting his patients' best interests and offering an efficient, cost-effective medical concierge practice for the busy DMV professionals. He's an integral part of the medical expert team for this Crohns patient! I became intrigued in the whole "medical concierge" principle after my well-esteemed, knowledgeable and kind doctor of 10 years moved to Florida. This loss served as one less reason to tolerate the intolerably inefficient and rude "front desk" personnel and extremely long waits (first in the waiting area and then yet again in the exam room). To add insult to injury, I was reassigned to a doctor that lacked in so many ways; including proper communication... (what doctor switches medicine dosages at refill and cancels surgery days before it happens with absolutely no advance notice. Then, the arrogant attitude of this unselected "replacement" doc was the cherry on top of a gut wrenching sundae. I was able to temporarily move to another doctor within the practice until I could move to a new practice. I met Dr. Mintz in early 2018 at at event and then did my own research on concierge medical services. I had heard of it before as being almost like having a doctor on call. Easy appointments, ease of communication (email, phone call, text, etc), NEARLY ZERO wait time for doctor appointments, ease of scheduling, easy billing, no administration burden, quick (sometimes even same day appointments). What is there not to appreciate. The best part was, to my very surprise, it is very affordable (less than I pay for a monthly gym membership). It was something I definitely wanted to try, so I enrolled in February and have been there ever since. I don't envision myself anywhere else (so long as he doesn't move to Florida ;), and it is not just because of the concierge aspect either. Dr. Matthew Mintz is truly a stand-up gentleman! I warned him in advance that I would be a difficult patient (with a nearly unmanageable case of Crohns!), but he didn't even flinch! He's a very kind-hearted, caring doctor. I don't ever feel judged about my medical issues/questions or talked down to (despite the fact that he's the expert and medicine is not my field). He keeps me well-informed of test updates, notes from specialists, his own recommendations, treatment options and always takes the time to answer questions thoroughly and do follow-up research as necessary. He takes pride in his practice, respects his clients and seeks to make medicine more practical/accessible/easy. I definitely trust him with my health and am happy to have become acquainted with his practice. He also takes great pride in helping others, frequently teaching and providing experience to interns.
