This will be a hard one to write…read more I am one that tries to keep the reviews positive but yet honest and real. This course used to be my home course. I always loved the layout and the condition of the course but did get frustrated at times when you could totally ride 90 degrees when they made it CPO. I let it ride because of the consistency the course played condition-wise and simply chose to pick another place when it rained. My last time playing there was in November of 2024, until today, which is 6-25-2026. The reason for that being the last time I played there wasn't because of me moving to a different side of town, it was due to the price increase to play this course that was just a few bucks shy of playing much nicer, demanding courses or, way too high over other courses that offered more but you paid less, such as many in Suffolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, etc. At the end of the day, I stopped playing here due to the price, and how tight the ship was run with play during weather conditions to which I understood if you wanted to continue with the course conditions being steller. My buddies wanted to get out last minute, and with limited availability on other courses, I decided to give a call here, to which they had openings at the time I needed. I can see why now. We started off on the back nine due to "maintenance on the front," to which we were pretty wide open most of the day. Seeing the first green on hole 10, I was shocked at the condition. We both thought it was a fluke and felt it would get better, but it didn't. Every green was lost, and despite you still being able to roll the ball okay, it was the biggest eye sore and mind trip on how they would roll all day long. Not only the greens, but it translated into the fairways and tee boxes. Then the sand traps? Although some were decent to get out, others were impossible. We had to pull back and chip over the greens. I've never seen this course in this condition, and yet the charge to play was still a pill to bite. I don't know what happened since my last time in 2024, but unfortunately for me, it will remain off the radar unless it is addressed in many ways. Again, I am not one for negative reviews, but that was a round of pure eye distraction and struggle to stay in the 80's mentally. The saving grace to me was the clubhouse special and the server. I went in to have a peek at what they had (as I review my scorecard details before hitting the road) and remembered some sort of special for having a scorecard. Come to find out, they still did, and that discount was: if you still had your scorecard on you, a draft beer or beverage was the cost of your score. So, if you shot an 85, your beer would be 85 cents with the purchase of something such as a hotdog! That was amazing! A Glizzy and draft IPA for under 4 dollars was absolutely awesome. That helped to bring this up to a 3 vs something lower. I always stated clubhouses here in VB need to make the Clubhouse a place where you want to hang, enjoy, and have great things going on to help ease the pain of the rounds. But this top golf experience was a little bit different, yeah of course not perfect especially because the tables were sticky and quite dirty so that was unpleasant, and our bayhost was alright but it felt a little like she was annoyed of us so it kind of ruined the mood, but the server who brought us our food honestly made the whole experience reach the 4 stars! He was a really nice, funny, pleasant, well mannered young gentleman. He brought us the food and actually took some time explaining everything and made genuine conversations, making jokes and being extremely friendly, not only with me but my whole family, he was also extremely fast and understanding and got us everything we needed even though I'm sure he was busy and had things to do! I usually don't write reviews regarding servers but this young man named Jamari really stood out, it truly feels really nice when someone who's a server takes out time from they're day to be genuine and have a conversation, and it really sets the mood for the rest of the experience you have. Especially not knowing how that can change someone's whole day. So all I have to say my family's experience was really made great because of the nice young man Jamari, each top golf deserves an employee like him! Enjoyed our stay here for work - one of the only campgrounds in the Cheasapeake area. Hard to get a…read morespot 50 amp FHU (they go fast). Much easier odds 30 amp FHU. Several water and electric sites though. Old campground with rv storage in front. Horse farm and golfing on property. I think it was $3 to golf? They also had bikes & kayaks available for rent. Lots of long term tentants that live here and were grandfathered into staying or work on property. You can stay up to 3 months in a rv then 2 weeks off. Office men were nice, one was very blunt but we didn't mind. Sites are a little tight to get into due to the matured pines, roots are also growing up out of the cement which made it slightly more difficult for leveling, and wouldn't recommend slides on 30 amp FHU sites under the pines (unless you go look ahead). They do have a pump out service and dump station. Pool, laundry, and playground area. We enjoyed walking around with the dogs. You can tell some of the people here are low income and near homelessness. We met some people living in a tent during our time here just trying to make it. It's just the nature of the whole area. Wouldn't reccommend keeping expensive items outside unattended. Wouldn't recommend children unattended either. Laundry machines were outdated but working and did the job. They have bathrooms and bathhouses available as well. Everybody seems to mind their own business. Flooding was terrible here though when it rained. Parking was limited at sites. Cannot park on sides (has to fit in your site spot) or you have to park it in designated shared parking spots in the campground. Has a gate with code to get in, security on duty, and cameras that made the area feel safer.

Pro shop is well stocked and they have a nice little food area connected in the main club house. It is surrounded by homes so that's to be considered if you have a wicked slice. It's a decent course even for those with potentially not as much golfing experience and looking to get into the sport or just take on a new hobby. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it during the week as the many times I've gone during the week, it hasn't been packed and we've been able to play at a leisurely pace.

Kempsville Greens is a municipal golf course of Virginia Beach. I generally use a third party…read moreonline app to make my golf reservations, and had discovered the affordable prices for a round here. Upon arrival at the pro shop to check in, I was greeted by the pro and was handed my golf cart key. The staff here are very friendly and professional and the pro shop had lots of merch to choose from. The cafeteria was next door and seating is available if desired. Outside the pro shop are the practice greens and chipping green. Both in good condition. The golf carts come equipped with a GPS system which helps keep the speed of play at a nice pace. The course itself isn't very long but the tree lined fairways make some opening drives challenging. There are a few par 3 " cart path only" holes. The 10th hole in particular can see a bit of a bottleneck with several groups that are ahead of yours waiting to tee off. But there is plenty of shade and the pace seems to correct itself shortly after completing with the 10th. I had a fantastic time at Kempsville Greens and will most certainly be returning .

We show up 30 min early as a 2 some and they pair us up with 2 older gentleman who just happened to be awesome thankfully. There was nobody in line playing yet so we got to start early since those slots were not booked. We were on the 1st tee box 25 min before our time. I told the 2 gents they can go ahead and play together and we'll start after them at our original tee time so me and my buddy can play together since we playing blue and them senior tees. This ahole comes ripping by in his cart reeking of weed yelling we have to play together and I mentioned we still have 20 min till our time I think it's fine he shouts some crap and goes and tells the guys to stop and wait for us to catch up then continue.
