He walked me through the process of my first colonoscopy and the office promptly called afterward to follow up. My second experience was a HUGE disappointment. Unfortunately, I was ill and hadn't been getting much better with my otc medicine. I had just returned from a trip out of the country and i had a really bad stomach bug but couldn't figure out what to do. I immediately booked an appointment with this practice but with another dr who had a sooner availability. They listed me as a new patient without looking at my medical history. It wasn't until I got into the exam room that they asked what did I specifically need from the dr. Apparently my appt was going to take longer than they anticipated because i asked for blood tests, endoscopy, and anything else they could order to figure out my issue. The worst part is that my 4pm appt turned into a 5:30 appt. They they triple and quadruple booked on that day. Such a waste of time. Very disappointed that I didn't just stick with Dr Olowe. But even more disappointed at how they are running this office now.

So why am I, who just had the same appointment for the same reason, being required to pay a $50 co-pay. The doctor's billing office (My insurer said it was up the doctor's office and for me to call them) says its due to the billing code used by the doctor. I say bullshit. No answer was given to me for why I have a co-pay when my wife had none. I was promised a return phone call last Friday. None was ever made. I called up billing again today. They say I will get a return call. I'll believe it when it happens. Furthermore, my wife had a followup appointment. The doctor wanted to see her after her colonoscopy. The earliest appointment was two months afterwards. Fine. This doctor wants $50 for that too. The appointment at two months afterwards was a waste of time. Followup surgical appointments have been zero in the past. If we knew there was going to be a charge, she wouldn't have gone. Billing called me back but not before me leaving multiple messages and being told conflicting stories and being called after at the wrong phone number. I got hung up after telling these billing people what I thought of them (but not in foul language) after they gave me yet more excuses. Stay away from the crook known as Dr. Frederick Sherman and unprofessional people he employs. It could be his office staff that are the crooks but they work for him and that makes the doctor no better than them.

I then went to my family physician who said, "I'll text him and have them call you sooner." He never called. I finally was referred to another GI doctor and had an endoscopy within 2 days. All was relatively taken care of by this other physician. I just went to Dr. Hurwitz 's office a few weeks later, without an appointment and said I was having pain. When he saw me he just said "WHY WOULD YOU GO TO ANOTHER DOCTOR - THATS HOW I MAKE MY MONEY!" Then he rushed out of the room to call my family physician because he was angry that I went elsewhere!!
