From the moment he realized I was due for a colonoscopy, that was his only focus. He didn't want to talk about my concerns about the real purpose of the appointment until I did the colonoscopy and the endoscopy. It was very obvious they made good money by sending people to do these procedures. I am very disappointed with the way he conducted the consultation. I had to see a different doctor at UM to solve my medical problems. I do not recommend this doctor.

Everybody was welcoming & friendly, starting with the receptionist, who never lost her smile nor her composure despite having to deal with several patients and the phone at the same time. Dr. Goldstein was also welcoming, she was patient and friendly, yet very professional. She took all the time I needed to explain my condition, which made me feel she really cared. I felt appreciated, which is so important to a patient when you're sick and looking for answers. I left the office feeling better emotionally speaking, hopeful and specially grateful. My experience with Dr. Railey in this location was profoundly disappointing and left me feeling…read moredismissed and worse off. I sought care for severe, debilitating symptoms that--intense stomach pain, pressure at roof of stomach when eating, intense nausea, altered bowel habits, and rapid weight loss which led me to the ER, he asked to see the bloodwork from the ER and I showed him bloodwork from my Doctor, and when he couldn't find anything obvious, he said it was just IBS. I kept bringing up my symptoms, in hope he would change his mind by me mentioning my stool has been abnormal for months, he claimed it was normal, the fact that I was in so much pain I went to the ER was somehow "normal" to him. And then I had to bring up the fact that I lost 30 pounds in 2 months, which was when he changed his mind and decided to have me tested. He would have thought that my symptoms were just IBS if it weren't for my weight loss. (From his own words.. yes.. he literally told me this) This casual dismissal of serious symptoms was unacceptable and set a poor tone for my care. When I asked about potential cures, the response was flippant--a vague comment about it "depending on the condition there may or may not be a cure" said in a very facetious way smiling in a very lighthearted demeanor, as if he was about to laugh and as if my fear of a chronic illness was a joke. The fact he replied this way to me voicing a serious concern was offensive, and appalling coming from a supposed medical professional. Testing revealed a positive C. difficile result but negative for toxins, yet I was prescribed vancomycin based solely on a brief phone call about diarrhea, with no follow-up questions about frequency or specifics. My symptoms--pressure at roof of stomach, no fever,--didn't even align with C. difficile, which ended up being a misdiagnosis. This very strong antibiotic risked me actually getting C. Difficile when I didn't have it. Only after this did the doctor order an endoscopy, which showed mild gastritis, I asked him why I felt this pressure feeling at the top of my stomach when I ate, and he said he didn't know. He didn't seem to understand that my upper and lower GI symptoms were all connected and were not separate issues. Likely why he did the endoscopy on me. Worse, I was told I didn't need a specific diet. When I followed his advice and ate more freely, I suffered a severe reaction, proving the guidance was misguided. A subsequent GI panel test was negative, and the only advice was to "eat what I'm comfortable with"--a vague, unhelpful response that left my symptoms unresolved. I don't know how he thought my symptoms were "normal" and just "IBS" if I was perfectly fine before with no stomach issues, and they were so bad and painful I went to the ER because of them. It caused me to undereat because of gas pressure which makes no sense to be "IBS" because IBS only refers to lower gut issues when I had upper GI issues like heavy nausea, and really fowl fruity smelling burps. Even my doctor, was taken aback by how he just said it was all normal. My hemathologist, and Nurse practitioner at my doctor's office were far more concerned and wondering what my issues were and how I was normal before and now not then Dr. Railey himself was. And if my symptoms were from C. Difficile, with how bad my symptoms were in December, I would have had a fever and a high white blood cell count that the ER personal would have surely seen. When I told a doctor at an Urgent Care about how he gave me Vancomycin. She looked very confused, and looked sideways kinda baffled and warned me that I needed to really investigate my issue with my GI. She very much suspected I was misdiagnosed and she turned out to be right. In actuality I had SIBO. I strongly urge anyone with complex or chronic GI issues to look elsewhere for a provider who will take your symptoms seriously, investigate thoroughly, and avoid rushed or questionable treatment decisions. This experience was one of the most frustrating medical encounters I've ever had, and I regret the time and health I lost. After my experience with him, I had to go to a 2nd Gastroenterologist out of network because Gastrohealth doesn't allow "patient sharing." and she was baffled by how Dr. Railey prescribed me Vancomycin. I went to a third one too but none of them were able to figure out what my issue was that led me to losing 100 pounds in total. But Dr. Railey was by far the worst one I went because of his non-serious attitude, misdiagnosing me and recklessly giving me an insanely strong antibiotic for an infection I didn't have. My Nurse Practitioner ended up testing my testosterone, which was at 36 and said it was the reason for my stomach issues. After getting on TRT, my symptoms have finally been improving, I don't have diarrhea anymore, and and the upper pressure feeling has been going away proving that I was misdiagnosed.

So now, I was not going to make it and missed the appointment. I took the day off for this procedure and they wanted me to reschedule for another day, like I am a toy. Nobody knew who called me and the lady who answered the phone in the Hialeah office was rude and dismissive. They lost a patient and by reading the previous reviews, they need to step up their game big time.

Gave me iPad to fill out questionnaire and consent forms(my first time here). I quickly filled out but I did not sign Hippa consent, cause it states I was acknowledging I received the HIPPA forms read and understood them. I went to window asked to see the forms, the girl said just sign I don't need to see them. I explained it's federal Act ( since 1996) establishing standards for patient right to their records and I want to read it, they should print it out and hand to patients if they want a digital signature. After 20 minutes they printed it. Next I found another issue on the program they use on iPad, it asks to sign accepting that the emergency contacts I entered Can Not request medical records. I explained to girl their that I elected for them to HAVE the right to request records. She said just sign when it uploads it changes it on my screen. I explained that's unprofessional and unacceptable to ask me to sign something that then anther system will change on its own. I asked to speak to office manager cause I know she did not write the program on the iPad but this needs to be addressed. She said they don't have office manager there at all. I asked who is in charge? She said No one.....whaaaat! I asked her to get nurse or doctor in charge today. She refused. She said if I don't sign everything then they will refuse services to me. Then she said bye have a nice day. After wasting almost 2 hours there left at 2:15pm. I suggest whoever is the owner here look to training staff to be better knowledgeable with respect to the field they work in and have a 3rd party programming company look at software you use for minor errors, this could have been avoidable. Now I have to take another day off next week probably to make another prescreen appointment elsewhere.
