This is my go to place when I'm craving some freshly made tofu or some herbal jelly and tofu pudding. They are a no frill stall but all of their good are the bomb. Everything taste delicious and fresh and the ladies that work the stall are friendly. I definitely recommend this place if you're in Brooklyn Chinatown. Though keep in mind, finding parking around here can be difficult but what I usually do is pull up, double park, grab my goods and then bounce. They don't take cards, it's cash only. read more

I was eyeing this place for a while... especially for their mochi balls and finally made the trip here and was not disappointed! The mochi was $6 per container and each container has 7 mochi balls. There's two flavors: red bean filling and peanut filling. I got a mix of both and they were both delicious, not too sweet. I really enjoyed the red bean, I'm not a huge fan of red bean but this one was really good. The mochi was soft too. I also got a small tofu pudding for $2.50 which tasted fine. I'm obsessed!! A lot of people don't know that you can actually eat tofu as a dessert. It's called "dou hua" aka tofu pudding. It's a very silky texture similar to agadashi tofu or the tofu in the Korean tofu soup. The tofu pudding on its own doesn't have much taste, but once you drench it in sweet ginger syrup, it makes a fantastic refreshing dessert for the summer. This is what this tofu stall sells. Amazing tofu pudding but also other snacks such as herbal jelly and mochi balls. I only got the tofu pudding and herbal jelly since those are some of my favorite snacks. Will need to try other items next time as well. I wish they would sell almond pudding or aiyu jelly as well. They sell them in two sizes - regular or large. I did not know there was a tofu pudding place here so I was delighted to find this out today. It's a small shop. Calling it a hole in the wall is an understatement. I walked past it like three times before I found it. They remind me a lot of the old Chinatown stall that sells tofu except this was is completely outdoors. They sell other stuff like tofu puffs, tofu blocks, rice noodles, bean sprouts. I came midday around 3pmish and it was quite busy with lots of patrons. I got a large tofu pudding which is my childhood favorite for $4. This is the cheapest tofu pudding I had. The ones in Chinatown sell a large tofu pudding for $5-$10 depending on where you go. Bay Parkway sells it for $4.50-$5.50. Their pudding was smooth and delicate just like the way I like it. If I come to this area again, I will definitely stop by here. read more

Love her and been a customer for years even when she had her stall on 8th ave before she got her own location on 57th street. I've always get the fresh soft white tofu and tofu pudding. Ever since I moved to Philly, tofu pudding isn't the same anywhere else. I still go back and buy her tofu pudding each time I visit Brooklyn. She started selling more desserts including the green tea red bean mochi or coconut peanut white mochi which I enjoy. This stall is located on the corner of 57th street 8 ave. I have been craving tofu pudding for such a long time and I came across this stall today. I got the tofu pudding (dou hua) for $4 in a quart (large size). They have 2 sizes, but I wanted the bigger size to satisfy my craving. The tofu pudding came with the honey syrup on the side. The tofu pudding was warm, which is not bad, but I took it home and let it cool before having it. It tastes amazing; I will definitely be buying more of it soon! read more

Love this spot so much. The family is very sweet despite being super busy. They got EVERYTHING! Fresh noodles, fresh tofu, fresh tofu pudding, fresh tofu puff and more. FRESH! Which also means, it will have to be eaten soon! Not a problem! The price is also affordable for all the labor put into making it! If I lived near this tofu stall I would go here EVERY SINGLE DAY (except one time I went really early (7:30 AM) on a weekday and and it doesn't seem like they open yet. I love douhua/ đậu hủ nước đường/tofu pudding with sugar syrup (in Vietnam, we use ginger syrup). It is so so so so delicious. I wish it was more sweet, though, so next time, I'll learn my Chinese phase to ask for another syrup. Truly recommend this place to try douhua out. read more

Prices are awesome, $3.00 for a large. On hot summer days, I bring home their herbal jelly to enjoy with the family! It is has a refreshing, light herbal taste and their burnt sugar syrup just makes it better. It helps cool us down on hot days! My mom likes to get their fresh tofu to make soup on a regular basis so they have that available as well. I checked the reviews from fellow Yelpers before going through with it and I was not disappointed! The tofu dessert (豆腐花) was warm, silky smooth, and delicious. I only wished the sugary syrup was a slightly thicker consistency and that they gave me more of it. I don't have another stall to compare Jia Xiang to but on this cold day after Christmas, the silken warm tofu is perfection after a big family meal. The grass jelly is just as springy, cold and refreshing as the star of the show: warm, light and effervescent; it melts like cotton candy with warm brown sugar and slightly less guilt. Will be back as we don't know another spot like this.. yet but prices pre or post-C19, can't be beaten. $2.75 for the large tofu and $2 for the small grass jelly. read more

Love this Tofu Stall on the side corner of busy 8th Avenue. Serving up different varieties of Tofu, Rice noodles, pearl noodles and bunch of Taishan Glutinous desserts. Aside from the tofu; everything else is already prepackaged and made fresh daily. I like chewy noodles hence I really liked the texture of the noodles from this place. Every time I'm at 8th Ave I have to come here! This is a streetside setup run by a lady and her daughter. She sells homemade soy products like tofu, tofu pudding (dou hua), and soy milk. She also sells a non-soy dessert called guilinggao or "turtle jelly," which is my personal favorite and the main reason why I come. The prices are as follows: -$1.25/$2.00 for a small/large dou hua -$1.75/$3.50 for a small/large guilinggao Because it's located in Brooklyn Chinatown and all the customers are Chinese, they seem to only conduct their business in Chinese. Also, the menu is written on green poster board in Chinese. They are a cash-only business. If you're ever craving or wanting to try fresh dou hua and guilinggao, then give they stand a try! Great place to buy tofu dessert and herbal jelly! They also sell fried tofu puffs and flat rice noodles! They have home made green tea red bean mochi and peanut mochi which are so so good.
