This place is literally a whole in the wall. You wont see a glaring big store front. They occupy an area within a store. Currently with Covid they are selling directly outside. Tofu pudding, soy milk, fried tofu, rice noodles, and even nian gau! Everything a foodie could ever want. Quarts of tofu are the best bag for the buck. We bought a little of everything and enjoyed it all! I cant wait to return.

Update: Tofu pudding prices went a little up, but I am still buying it! Finally! A new place that sells homemade tofu and other v. Despite the long line, I was able to buy dofu hua (tofu pudding).

It's such a rare gem and the art of tofu pudding is not well known anymore.

I got chicken tenders and fries, the chicken tenders were very good, a little bit too much crispy part though. I don't mind that part though I loved them. My mom got the lobster roll and she also liked hers! After we finished our food, we were ready for dessert and we got soft serve ice cream, yummy! I loved the ice cream and the food. The vibe of the place was great, nice music playing and tables to sit at. The people were kind, I think the girl taking our order was new because she was asking her coworker about how to open up the cash register and stuff, but she did a great job! I had leftovers of the chicken tenders and I ate them the next day. Sadly, I did throw them up but I don't think it had anything to do with the food or quality of it, I was motion sick and had already been looking at my phone for a while (don't worry I wasn't driving.) So definitely come here if you like food like this! Also, for some reason the website said it was closed but then we walked in the direction of it and it was open, which was weird but I don't mind!

Despite it being such a crowded day they took my order quickly and also brought out the food quickly! I ordered the clam strips and French fries, and it exceeded expectations, fries were crispy, and clam strips hit the spot. We were able to sit at their picnic tables outside to eat too which were nice and had an umbrella.

An orderly line, one-stop-shopping, plus tables and benches outside. They've had seating for awhile ..... but not in the '60s, when we'd regularly stop at Nathan's. The frankfurters are spicy and have snap! The fries are crinkle-cut with their signature ridge, and delicious. Coney Island still has frog's legs (if that's your thing.) But no more pineapple soda, a drink they were known for. (That was my thing.) So .... four hotdogs (two for me, two for T), shared fries, shared soda. $38!!! Kind of expensive. Curious about price before we arrived, I used A.I. since the menu wasn't posted on Nathan's site. Information was inaccurate, citing a discount if you buy two franks and an incremental amount more to tack on fries and a soft drink. Wrong! No meal-deals in Coney Island. Oh well. I enjoyed our brief stop. The days of dollar hot dogs are long since gone.

Who knows if the famous Nathan's "snap" will fall by the wayside in favor of cheaper ingredients but I suspect Joey Chestnut won't fare as well trying to down 75 fried egg rolls in 120 seconds. In any case it might make for some awfully fun television... Mystery Meat Theater. Four curious stars.

Unfortunately a lot of the rolls we wanted to get like beef brisket and curry fish balls ran out, also too is the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf. We ended up settling for roast pork rice roll, and a beef version, and lastly fish ball version. They make it from scratch which is nice to see while the ingredients are chopped up to small pieces. I do wish they put more ingredients in but for the price they charge (average of $2.75 per roll), no complaints there. There is one small table outside to eat in but no indoor seating or bathroom. I would give 3 strong stars.

I tried the fresh pork roll with egg, scallions, and cilantro for just $3. The rice noodles were smooth and soft, the proportions of ingredients to rice roll were well-balanced, and the soy sauce was flavorful. I enjoyed every bite!

I walked out of Beer Island and right behind them on the boardwalk is Steve's Grill House, a large walk up counter with a huge selection of food (pizza, hot dogs, sausage, cheesesteaks, hamburgers, chicken, seafood, snacks, and so on). I wasn't expecting culinary greatness, just some cheap unhealthy beach grub. I ordered 2 corn on the cobs, a cheeseburger, and chicken fingers with french fries. There were no prices posted so I had no idea what it would cost, it came out to $17 which was fairly reasonable. The reason for my 1 star is very simple, this was the worst food I have ever eaten in my life. The chicken fingers were cold; the fries were barely warm and soggy; the burger was small, tough, and dry; and the corn was obviously just sitting in lukewarm water because it was tasteless and extremely soggy and inedible. To make matters much worse is when I first sat down with the corn I discovered an ant deeply wedged between two soggy kernels. I'm completely insulted that anyone would not only serve people that kind of previously frozen, overcooked, cold, and tasteless food but that they would have the nerve to charge for it. I'm not sure if there's any place on the boardwalk any better than this but learn from my mistake and stay away from this one.
