I would say that they're mostly just the rice-based roll, with somewhat small bits of filling (chicken, beef, Beef with Kimchi are the 3 that I tried), but pretty tasty with soy sauce. I don't think I'm really into rice rolls, but if I'm around here, I'll return to try one of their noodle soups. They don't have anything premade so expect a little wait since the cherng fun is made to order. I recommend calling ahead if you want to place a large order. I think the prices are a little more expensive than what I'm use to. When you place your order, you get to choose if you want to add toppings, if you don't add toppings your cherng fun will come plain as a default aside from the meat/flavor you choose. There's the free option of scallion, cilantro, or bean sprouts. You could add either one or all without additional charge which I thought was nice. They also had premium toppings too for an additional charge. I added scallions to all of the following: - Chicken/Beef: Both meats are good options, solid choice if you're looking for a good cherng fun. The meat is lightly seasoned and they give a good amount in the cherng fun too. - Beef with pickled veggies: My favorite out of the mix so far, the beef paired so well with the pickled veggies. I went to this store with my brother to get some changfen. It is quite close to my home. It was quiet in the morning, not many people were there. Even though inside it was not very big, the atmosphere felt nice and warm,especially in a cold,windy fall morning. I got an egg steamed rice roll with scallions and bean sprouts ,while my brother had a pork one with nothing added. The changfen were still warm when we got home,and they looked amazing! Joe's seems to have higher quality proteins, too. Steam Box's menu is geared towards those more culturally knowledgeable, as the menu lists the variety of rolls available with add-ons on the bottom of the page, almost as an afterthought. After getting the okay, we ordered at the counter. I ordered the Curry Fish Ball Steam Rice Roll with Green Onions for myself, while my sister ordered the Beef Steam Rice Roll with Cilantro. We could've finished there, but my sister, being the chatty person she is, asked the staff what else was popular. At that point, the heat was getting to me, and I felt like bashing a certain someone, but I reined myself in. The staff, on the other hand, was super nice and answered that the Pork and Beef Steam Rice Rolls were the most popular rolls. She also highly recommended the Char Siu Steam Rice Roll and Shrimp w/ Salted Egg Yolk Steam Rice Roll, so we got one of the Char Siu Steam Rice Rolls with Cilantro too. I also asked my sister repeatedly if she wanted an egg (because I wanted it!), but the little dummy didn't get the hint and said no... There were many different kinds of steamed rice rolls & some that I have never seen (bacon & corn, salted egg yolk) or tried before. Staff was very friendly and nice & told me that there are many delicious ones to try. Since I was not that hungry, I ordered the shrimp with salted egg because it was unique.
