Every single aspect of Parkview Home was perfect. The house is clean, quiet, comfortable, peaceful. The nurses are excellent- every single one of them. They are kind, gentle, caring. They made his sudden and unexpected passing much less painful for our family because we knew he was in such good hands. We have discussed on several occasions how perfect it was to have him go there. We will never forget what they did for our dad. I truly hope there is a bed open if your family is in need of one. You will be lucky.

My mom was there for 2 weeks, and they were so attentive, kind, compassionate. Kept her comfortable, clean/bathe, checking on her every hour, turning her. The nurses and staff were very welcoming of our family coming to visit, my brother and I, plus our significant others spent days with my mom and we never felt unwelcome, they checked on us as much as they checked on my mom. On my mom's second to last day her family came to visit her, about 20 people, some in the room with her some out in the living areas, we were as comfortable as if it was our own home. It was truly a full circle care. I'm forever going to be grateful to Parkway hospice home and Sharp for making my mom's last moments as comfortable as they can be, under the circumstances.

My father was taken there by his wife and he was only supposed to be there 5 days due to a plumbing problem at home. As soon as he was admitted his meds were changed so I called the doctor in charge. She called me back and explained that he was only being re-accessed because he was bedridden and needed lower amounts of medication. She assured me that this would help him so that he could feel better by the time he went home. The next day he stopped eating (was eating soft foods and liquids at home) and he was unable to speak coherently or even sty awake. This was very alarming since I lived out of town, When I left a message to speak to the doctor, they said I was not on the list of people she could talk to about him and she never returned the call. My step mother assured me that she would have the social worker call me and that they were going to keep him there longer. She never called that day but the next afternoon a nurse or caregiver called me to say that he would die in the next week and that he wasn't eating. I was very upset to say the least. The hospital he was in the month before had given him 6 months to live. Two days later I was alerted that he had died. An hour later the social worker called and left me a message about how she was sorry about my loss but they were there if I needed help with my grief. They would be the last people I would call about my grief, My dad wanted to be at home in his last days, but they took that away from him.

Justin was the nurse that admitted her, he got her changed out of the hospital gown and into a nightgown they provide. He also answered all of my questions and was a huge help. I was staying the night when my Mom took her last breath and the nurses were Kelly and Kat. Kat checked on my Mom basically every 15 mins making sure she wasn't in pain, answering all of my crazy questions and being a calming presence. Don't trust the Yelp score, I would recommend this place every day of the week.

I don't write a lot of Yelp reviews, but I really wanted to recognize Kayla Williams at Comfort and…read moreThrive. My mother lives in an assisted living home, and there was some confusion over the paperwork for her brand-new wheelchair. I had spent quite a while on the phone with the head nurse, who assured me they had no paperwork and no proof that the new wheelchair we had purchased for my mother was even on the premises. Instead, I was told they believed she was using an older wheelchair that had been provided by hospice and that it had to be returned to hospice immediately. My heart just sank. I felt frustrated because I honestly felt like what I was saying wasn't being heard. I was being told they had paperwork that showed something completely different, and I started to feel defeated. Not only was I being told I might have to pay for the six months they believed my mother had been using the hospice wheelchair, but I was also being told I would need to purchase a new wheelchair for her. That was a huge financial double whammy, and I was honestly beside myself. When Kayla heard how upset I was, she didn't hesitate. She immediately jumped into action. She was calm, reassuring, and never made me feel like I was on my own. One phone call later, and in less than 20 minutes, the entire situation was resolved. The biggest thing I walked away with wasn't just that the problem got fixed. It was how Kayla made me feel. She made me feel taken care of. She made me feel protected. When you're trying to take care of an elderly parent, that kind of compassion means everything. Thank you, Kayla, for turning one of the most stressful days I've had in a long time into one with a happy ending. Comfort and Thrive is very fortunate to have you. And one last thing...please give this lady a raise. She absolutely deserves it.

I would avoid Apreva Hospice. My experience with them was extremely disappointing and added…read moresignificant stress during an already difficult time. Rather than providing comfort and support, I found their care to be poorly coordinated, inadequately individualized, and at times clinically inappropriate. My sister had a complex medical history that included recurrent syncopal (fainting) episodes. Unfortunately, hospice staff repeatedly interpreted these episodes as signs that she was actively dying or "transitioning" without adequately reviewing her medical history or understanding her underlying condition. After one such episode, I received a call from a hospice representative through an out-of-state call center recommending that morphine be started immediately. There was no apparent clinical indication for morphine at that time, and the caller was unable to explain the rationale for the recommendation or answer basic questions. This was both unsettling and concerning. On another occasion, a hospice nurse recommended oral antibiotics for a suspected aspiration-related infection. At the time, my sister was unresponsive and not eating or drinking, making oral administration impractical. Concerned about the recommendation, I had her evaluated in the Emergency Department. No infection was found, no antibiotics were indicated, and her symptoms were ultimately attributed to another syncopal episode from which she later recovered. I was also told that all of my sister's oral medications should be discontinued, despite the fact that she was still taking medications orally and there was no clear clinical reason to stop them. This recommendation created unnecessary anxiety and confusion. The hospice chaplain's conduct was also unprofessional. Facility staff ultimately asked him not to return after he put his feet on a table and requested flowers that were being used for a resident activity. Several nurses at the care facility privately expressed concerns about the quality of hospice care they were observing and recommended that I consider changing hospice providers. By that point, my sister's condition had become increasingly unstable, and I felt that changing providers would only add more stress. She passed away later that week. What was perhaps most disappointing was the lack of follow-up after her death. Her primary hospice nurse never contacted me to offer condolences, answer questions, or provide support. As an advanced practice healthcare provider, I recognized a number of concerning issues that may not be apparent to families without medical training. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hospice organization.

Hadn't been even 48hours between the time I called them for help with my loved one before I was being raked across the coals for not having enough help by two people who had never met me or my loved one, talked to us, been to our house, investigated our situation, who felt obligated to tell me they had reported me to Adult Protective Services for not having enough help for my mother... yeah, let that catch-22 sink in. Reprehensible, illogical, irresponsible, and lacking in integrity. Not helping in diminishing my stresses but adding to them doesn't seem to track with "hospice" or "care". The only reason for 2 stars is because they sent out incontinence supplies. However they're the kind my Betsy Wetsie doll as a kid would have had a blow out in.
