For rolled sushi my pick in Richmond Centre would be Togo (better than Umi). Their ingredients are fresh and they have a lot of selection. Also the chefs are super fast which makes it great for lunch breaks or when you're in a rush. Spicy salmon, chopped scallop, sweet potato rolls never dissapoint. I like their sushi rice a lot and I usually get chirashi don which is sooo good! There is a lot of sashimi and the rice is fragrant with just the right amount of sweet and tangy. Another good to try is their seafood salad, the sauce is really addictive! Really good for Takeout for parties as well since they have trays. The bento boxes are perfect if you're hungry - unagi is good (but obviously not fresh). Service is friendly, cashiers are fast and accommodating. read more

Got our "to go" sushi from Togo :) This place came recommended by a colleague's office who uses them for lunches so we tried them out for a lunch event yesterday. Huge variety ordered from small rolls of salmon/tuna/cucumber/Cali to the larger Cali rolls and spicy tunas to sushi. There were some sushi-naive folks in the group so it was fairly "safe" sushi. I don't believe anything exotic was carried on the menu. It's good for a chain - food is fresh and the ginger is good. Fish has a nice firmness and it's a decent lunch choice if you don't want to spend more money on the nicer sushi places in Richmond. Downsides are that the fish is a bit bland in taste and particularly the California roll does not have enough mayo. The cuts aren't that clean, but again, average for a chain type of sushi place. If you're shopping at RC (Richmond Centre) this is a great place to have a sushi stop or take some home to eat. Their menu provides all the usual Japanese foods you'd like: Bento boxes, sashimi, sushi rolls, dons, etc.. The sushi is pretty fresh and the balance of rice to ingredients is decent. It's a small place but there's still a few seats to enjoy your food if you want to stay. I like the 'bar seats' because you get to see all the fresh ingredients and watch the chefs make the sushi. I love going here for a quick healthy lunch. The sushi comes out quick, tastes good and fresh, and gives you great value. The prices vary between $3 and $9 depending on how "specialty" the roll is. I usually order two rolls [8 pieces each] - the Kamikaze roll for $6.50 and the Caterpillar roll for $4.50. It tastes great, and makes for a fantastic lunch choice. Is this the best sushi on earth? No. Would I gladly go here for lunch every time I step into Richmond Center? Always. This is a good place to quite literally get sushi-on-the-go...especially the rolls. In the area, this is where I usually choose to grab lunch. Nothing special on the menu, although the recent intro of a mango roll was very welcome by me. I ordered salmon nigiri and salmon maki. The rice was flavorless and dry (characteristic of over night rice that they didn't manage to sell from the day before). The salmon was mushy, flavorless, and not fresh at the slightest. Definitely not worth the $20 I paid! Also, the maki looked like it was made by a 2 year old... the pieces were different lengths and some pieces had a lot of salmon while others had only a tiny bit. The flavours were okay and the rolls were quite big, however the spicy tuna sashimi wasn't fresh and really thinly sliced. The prawn tempura in the red dynamite roll were horrible. Too much tempura batter and very little prawn. The batter was chewy, soggy, and inedible. If you're going to order these special rolls be prepared to be disappointed and flush your money down the toilet. read more
