B and I finally get to try this place. We came here for dinner and we did the premium meat. I think we did get our money's worth given beef prices has gone up so much. But is it worth it, I would say meh. The place wasn't very busy when we showed up for dinner. All in with taxes and tip was $130 for two people. I really liked the creme brulee. The beef served were good quality fresh meat. Unfortunately B and I are not able to eat that much. Our favorite was the hanger steak and the miso beef. We loved the ribeye. We got 3 of those. Service was a bit of a miss. Food came quick at the beginning and half way through server was hard to flag down and when we were able to flag him down our order took a long time to show up which was not cool. Decor of the place was ok. I am guessing because it is new, all their grills are quite new. Gyubee is a Toronto chain. If you compare Toronto prices and here after taxes and everything the prices at the end of the day works out to be the same eventhough Toronto is around $10 cheaper. We prefer their competitor Gyu Kaku because we don't have to eat so stuff and there are a lot more choices.

Food great. Service great. Restaurant clean. Online waitlist works but was quite delayed in the end. Taking off one star because they don't take credit card. For a well established international chain, this was a surprise.

I came here as a group of 5 an hour before closing and the restaurant was still very packed. Make sure to join the waitlist ahead of time! Since it was busy, we were waiting a while for some of our items to arrive and if we did not remind the waitress, I don't think we would have received the order. One of our orders actually got completely forgotten. Food was good and there is a big variety of items you can order. Quality also seems to be decent. The reason for my lower rating was because of the experience with payment. The bill was split and I guess some people in the group did not tip. The waitress gave us attitude and then later, the manager personally came out with the dish that we needed to remind the staff for and brought back the card machine just to have the tip paid. The rest of the dinner was kind of awkward since we were also asked to pay before the meal ended.

Service was awesome, as they came to our table frequently. The food was OK, but it was from a lunch menu and some of the better dishes were reserved for the dinner menu. Tables were set up well and the restroom was clean. Check it out.

we really enjoyed our meal at Gyubee and our server was the best! so friendly and very attentive

The quality of the meat here is excellent and the flavours of the food were delicious! This spot is super busy, as we came here on a Thursday evening and had to wait nearly 4 hours for a table. The staff were not as attentive as they were super busy. But the restaurant was clean and comfortable for diners. I would come back here but make sure to join the waitlist hours before you plan to come. By the time we got seated around 9pm, we didn't have much time to order since the restaurant was about to close.

We got there just in time, 6:30 pm, literally before the crowd. Vera was our server and she did a great job explaining how it all worked! Her recommendations were spot on. While we enjoyed everything, the standouts for us were the Prime Kalbi, the Miso Beef Brisket, the Chicken Wings, and the Mushroom Medley. Great environment, good pricing, and fantastic staff - a def must visit!!!

Gyubee is easily one of our favourite all-you-can-eat Japanese BBQ spots in Richmond, and we can confidently say the price is worth it. We've tried both lunch and dinner, and honestly--both are great value. The meat is fresh, well-cut, and there's a good variety to choose from, so you never feel bored while grilling. One thing we really appreciate is how small the portions are for sides like rice, noodles, and bibimbap. It lets you try a bit of everything without wasting food--and you can always order more if you want. That thoughtful portioning makes the experience feel balanced, not overwhelming. Service is efficient despite how busy it gets, and the meal always ends on a high note with dessert (the soft-serve never disappoints). One tip: arrive early. There's almost always a 30-60 minute wait, especially during peak hours--but it's worth it. Highly recommend for BBQ lovers who want variety, value, and a consistently satisfying experience.

We waited 2 hours until we got into the restaurant. It was worth the wait. The atmosphere was amazing and our waiter was very friendly and polite. It was worth the hype, all you could eat! We were full and had a great experience and would highly recommend this restaurant.

One of the best ayce bbq we've been to by far! I loved almost everything here! Portions are small so you can try & see what you like without wasting food. Definitely worth the all-day price & service was good. Just gotta remember it's cash only.

MEAT CENTRAL. What can I say except to come hungry and eat a lot!! The staff were very attentive and patient and friendly. It was great to be served by them. Every meat type was so delicious and marinated well - it was hard to pick a favourite! I also really enjoyed their cold tofu side dish and miso soup. The sake marinated clams were also interesting and so tasty. And don't forget dessert! Creme brulee for days.

Returned for lunch a couple months after having dinner here, and I enjoyed their lunch menu a lot more! The price and selection is almost half of what it is for dinner, but I felt it was more worth it. Our favourite items were the black pepper galbi and the miso beef brisket. The galbi slices were thick and tender, and we definitely ate our money's worth. The cold noodles, takoyaki and bibimbap were really good as well. Out of all the sides, I enjoyed the spinach and cold tofu. The buttered corn is a must. Our server was very sweet and attentive, and tried to get our food out quickly despite the lunch rush. Definitely join the online waitlist about an hour to 30 mins before when you want to be seated, or you'll be waiting for a while. They also let us know that their ssamjang, chili powder and salad dressing contained nuts, which was very helpful. The quality and service are both great for an AYCE spot. For $30-33, the lunch menu is definitely worth checking out!

Overall a moderately well experience. Came here on a weekend and expecting a wait, we joined the queue early at 1pm or so and ended up with a table just before 5pm. They accept cash or debit only and are very clear about this. While the server was friendly, there were orders that were missed and it felt as though my party had to keep following up with the servers to get the food we ordered. At one point, the server also turned the stove off because of a big flame, said he turned it back on and insisted it was turned on yet wasn't. They are very prompt to get you to leave on time at the 2h mark so plan accordingly

The staffs/owner were very friendly and made great recommendations. Had the hamachi carpaccio, so refreshing and appetizing. The homemade ponzu (lemony) sauce has a nice finish with thin sliced onions and veggies. The Engawa Arburi nigiri was recommended, and it was phenomenal. It is the 'fin edge' of flounder. Super delicate, with seared (arburi) flavor and melts in your mouth. Yum! The other highlight was the Wagyu beef cubes severed on stick. Two skewers 4 cubes each. The Wagyu was perfectly cooked. It melts in your mouth with every bite. We also enjoyed the 7 piece Omakase sushi set. The fish was very fresh and satiating. Love the lotus root chips garnishing. We loved everything we had but would likely skip the Omakase appetizer Platter. Perhaps we were spoiled by the hamachi carpaccio appetizer. We still enjoyed it but For the same price, we would prefer the sushi set. It had 9 small plates in a beautiful serving box including- tiny sashimi cube of salmon, tuna, tamago, and my fav is the komochi nishin (herring fillets ("Nishin") layered over a base of crunchy capelin roe), also included in the tiny plates of apps were, chicken karaage, baby taco, sliced taco, taco in red sauce, and seaweed salad. We look forward to be back!!!!!

This location is inside the CF Richmond Center mall. My party of 4 was able to get seated immediately on a Saturday around 12:45pm. Once seated, there will be a paper where you can individually mark your order at each person's seat. I opted to get the 6 hand roll set along with the salmon aburi oshi. The salmon oshi was very meh IMO, but some others in my party liked it. It was kind of tasteless to me, and the servers suggested not having it with soy sauce, but my friends said it actually tasted better with soy sauce. As for the hand rolls, they were pretty good; my favorites were the toro and the truffle lobster, which is more unique and not something I usually see at other hand roll bars. Service was generally quite good, with our waters and ginger being refilled. We were also offered an explanation of the menu when we were seated as it was our first time dining here. However I feel like the wait time between rolls was a bit of a let down. Similar to some other hand roll bars I've been to, it seems like the order in which parties were served was kind of random. For example, other parties would get 2-3 hand rolls in a row before we got one. Also, even within my party, 2 people got 2 hand rolls in a row before I even got one. It was a bit strange and I wish the service was a bit more balanced. Pricing was also on the higher side - the hand rolls aren't super big so even a 6 set hand roll ($39) didn't leave me feeling completely full.
