This was our first stop in Canada on the way to Vancouver. Upon entering, the first thing we see is a sign that says they only accept Canadian Debit Cards or Cash. Since we didn't have either on us, that posed a problem. The staff pointed to an ATM machine they have in the restaurant. I tried it out and on the screen, it looked like it was going to charge us 11% on top of a service charge, so I declined the transaction. We left the restaurant and tried to figure out a better place to get cash. A minute later, one of the staff members came out and told us the transaction went through and that we forgot our money. Bonus points for integrity and honesty from the staff. Side review on the ATM machine. I was charged $147.47 US (equivalent to $207.60 CAD) from the ATM machine and received $200 CAD. I didn't think the charge was too bad, but the transaction caps out at $200 CAD withdrawal which would be a pain if you had a medium to large size group with you. 3 stars for the ATM machine because of the limit and minus an additional star for not cancelling the transaction in the first place. We got the lunch menu (vs all day) and were pleasantly surprised with it. Sometimes there are filler items or things that the restaurant doesn't do well, but keeps it on the menu. I thought everything was good to great quality including the side dishes. We ordered plenty of banchan since it was really good and our main source of veggies (unless you count the butter corn which was quite tasty as well). The takoyaki were good and the surprise dish of the day was the fried rice cakes. I ate three rice cakes they were so good. Nice crust with soft mochi-like center and a sweet dipping sauce. For the meats, we tried almost everything on the menu. My favorites were the marinaded meats (beef and pork), the salt and pepper galbi, and the lamb. There's a time limit of 2 hours to order food, so don't dilly-dally when you get a table! Just order a few things at the beginning and then you'll have plenty of time to peruse the menu. B and I finally get to try this place. We came here for dinner and we did the premium meat. I think we did get our money's worth given beef prices has gone up so much. But is it worth it, I would say meh. The place wasn't very busy when we showed up for dinner. All in with taxes and tip was $130 for two people. I really liked the creme brulee. The beef served were good quality fresh meat. Unfortunately B and I are not able to eat that much. Our favorite was the hanger steak and the miso beef. We loved the ribeye. We got 3 of those. Service was a bit of a miss. Food came quick at the beginning and half way through server was hard to flag down and when we were able to flag him down our order took a long time to show up which was not cool. Decor of the place was ok. I am guessing because it is new, all their grills are quite new. Gyubee is a Toronto chain. If you compare Toronto prices and here after taxes and everything the prices at the end of the day works out to be the same eventhough Toronto is around $10 cheaper. We prefer their competitor Gyu Kaku because we don't have to eat so stuff and there are a lot more choices.

One of the best all you can eats in the city! They offer a variety of premium cut meats that are fresh and well seasoned. Plus, their soy sauce, creme brulee and almond pudding is made in-house. The inside is clean and spacious. It's the perfect place to eat with friends and family.

Another gyubee meal absolutely demolished! I will always come back for their meats, cold noodles, and creme brûlée! Gyubee truly never disappoints and is arguably the best ayce I think there is. The menu is incredibly diverse and isn't limited to just grilled meats so everyone can be satisfied and you won't be sick of purely eating meat without worrying about the cost of extra rice! However I also believe that their diverse menu and meats, cuts and types are all very good quality and taste amazing! If you find it not flavourful enough, there's also soy sauce on the side and seasoning powder! I personally like to dip the non-marinated meats in the seasoning powder! I also recommend ordering the cold noodles as a palate cleanser with extra kimchi on the side! The spinach is also a high runner up as a palate cleanser, I quite enjoy the sesame oil taste.

Food great. Service great. Restaurant clean. Online waitlist works but was quite delayed in the end. Taking off one star because they don't take credit card. For a well established international chain, this was a surprise.

I came here as a group of 5 an hour before closing and the restaurant was still very packed. Make sure to join the waitlist ahead of time! Since it was busy, we were waiting a while for some of our items to arrive and if we did not remind the waitress, I don't think we would have received the order. One of our orders actually got completely forgotten. Food was good and there is a big variety of items you can order. Quality also seems to be decent. The reason for my lower rating was because of the experience with payment. The bill was split and I guess some people in the group did not tip. The waitress gave us attitude and then later, the manager personally came out with the dish that we needed to remind the staff for and brought back the card machine just to have the tip paid. The rest of the dinner was kind of awkward since we were also asked to pay before the meal ended.

Came as a group of two. I totally forgot you can join the waitlist on the Yelp app, so I ended up waiting 2.5 hours and got seated at 10. Lesson learned. It was worth it though! I almost ordered everything on the menu, and everything was good. The steak miso was my favorite cut.

Service was awesome, as they came to our table frequently. The food was OK, but it was from a lunch menu and some of the better dishes were reserved for the dinner menu. Tables were set up well and the restroom was clean. Check it out.

The quality of the meat here is excellent and the flavours of the food were delicious! This spot is super busy, as we came here on a Thursday evening and had to wait nearly 4 hours for a table. The staff were not as attentive as they were super busy. But the restaurant was clean and comfortable for diners. I would come back here but make sure to join the waitlist hours before you plan to come. By the time we got seated around 9pm, we didn't have much time to order since the restaurant was about to close.

Fantastic service, reminds me of asian ayce. The Kalbi was amazing! The lunch menu is definitely worth it!

We got there just in time, 6:30 pm, literally before the crowd. Vera was our server and she did a great job explaining how it all worked! Her recommendations were spot on. While we enjoyed everything, the standouts for us were the Prime Kalbi, the Miso Beef Brisket, the Chicken Wings, and the Mushroom Medley. Great environment, good pricing, and fantastic staff - a def must visit!!!

Gyubee is easily one of our favourite all-you-can-eat Japanese BBQ spots in Richmond, and we can confidently say the price is worth it. We've tried both lunch and dinner, and honestly--both are great value. The meat is fresh, well-cut, and there's a good variety to choose from, so you never feel bored while grilling. One thing we really appreciate is how small the portions are for sides like rice, noodles, and bibimbap. It lets you try a bit of everything without wasting food--and you can always order more if you want. That thoughtful portioning makes the experience feel balanced, not overwhelming. Service is efficient despite how busy it gets, and the meal always ends on a high note with dessert (the soft-serve never disappoints). One tip: arrive early. There's almost always a 30-60 minute wait, especially during peak hours--but it's worth it. Highly recommend for BBQ lovers who want variety, value, and a consistently satisfying experience.

One of the best ayce bbq we've been to by far! I loved almost everything here! Portions are small so you can try & see what you like without wasting food. Definitely worth the all-day price & service was good. Just gotta remember it's cash only.

The staffs/owner were very friendly and made great recommendations. Had the hamachi carpaccio, so refreshing and appetizing. The homemade ponzu (lemony) sauce has a nice finish with thin sliced onions and veggies. The Engawa Arburi nigiri was recommended, and it was phenomenal. It is the 'fin edge' of flounder. Super delicate, with seared (arburi) flavor and melts in your mouth. Yum! The other highlight was the Wagyu beef cubes severed on stick. Two skewers 4 cubes each. The Wagyu was perfectly cooked. It melts in your mouth with every bite. We also enjoyed the 7 piece Omakase sushi set. The fish was very fresh and satiating. Love the lotus root chips garnishing. We loved everything we had but would likely skip the Omakase appetizer Platter. Perhaps we were spoiled by the hamachi carpaccio appetizer. We still enjoyed it but For the same price, we would prefer the sushi set. It had 9 small plates in a beautiful serving box including- tiny sashimi cube of salmon, tuna, tamago, and my fav is the komochi nishin (herring fillets ("Nishin") layered over a base of crunchy capelin roe), also included in the tiny plates of apps were, chicken karaage, baby taco, sliced taco, taco in red sauce, and seaweed salad.
