Each area is categorized by color: blues to the right, browns and whites straight ahead, violets in the back of the store. Open doorways weave in and out of the dividing wall, allowing customers to float freely from continent to continent... er... section to section. Beautiful, plush scarves caught my eye, as well as some of the old writing table decorations. One room in the back was filled with an assortment of accessories, like jewelry, hair barrettes, and hats. Incredibly well organized, this shop is like strolling through a fashion museum. Prices were a little higher than expected, and although there were two salesladies in the store, neither of them acknowledged that I was there. That bumped Vintage Marketplace down to three stars. I'd still stop back for a browse though. The window display changes frequently (and, in my opinion, is the most elaborate in Hyde Park), so something new will likely draw me in again.

It is bigger than it looks as it has a back room and also a basement. They have a lot of home decor items in the basement. This is a consignment shop so the clothes and decor are higher priced than say Goodwill but they are better quality items. I found the prices to be reasonable. I was asking her about her oils for my skin care routine and she made it very clear she was not interested in serving me or people who look like me AT All. I couldn't remember the name of the store but felt it was important to warn people especially in the OTR community that she is not for us. She was making the ugliest faces at me and I asked her which one if her oils would give me skin a glow she replied side eyed, "Any of them". I left and never went back. The oils were already pretty pricey which I didn't mind until I saw how nasty she was.
