I would argue that their individual dining experience is critically underrated, try their regular menu. ( My personal favorite is the Avocado Salad ) Pros: - Excellent food and service - Easy Parking - Food quality is consistent - Lots of tasty options Cons - All items are not listed on the menu - Hours are finicky - Inside is consistently loud, even when not busy - Menu pricing can be inconsistent - Occasionally the Sushi offered can comes out limp or barely filled

And I shouldn't have to track someone down to get boxes and bill. The food was subpar. Shrimp was perfect. Chicken and steak were dry. Noodles were dry and stuck together and needed cut to eat. If they would have came to check on us I would have asked for yum yum sauce or ginger sauce to help it out. Sauces used to come with the meal. Apparently not anymore. I did not see any other table with the two tray sauce dish. Maybe I will try again in another 8 years if they are still open. Until then I will get my Hibachi fix at De Adi Hibachi food truck, where the food is always good and a third the price.

Wanting to have some authentic Japanese food and the path took us to Yama's Japanese Restaurant…read more It's a barely noticeable hole in the wall in Downtown Morgantown. There's a paid parking lot across the street as well as metered parking on High Street. Their awning has seen better days but after walking up a small flight of stairs, you enter a cozy restaurant and greeted by its staff. There's about 8 tables for seating and the walls are neatly decorated with Japanese art. The front wall displays photos of their food offerings and made ordering easy. The friendly cashier answered some questions and we placed our order of shoyu ramen, curry rice with chicken katsu, shumai, gyoza, and takoyaki as well as soft drinks. There were several other customers having their meals and more gradually filled the tables as others left. The food was served soon after and looked delicious. They formed a kitty cat with the rice, complete with nori for cat eyes on the curry katsu plate. Nice touch. The curry was very flavorful and just the right consistency and a little spicy which went great with the katsu. Only wish there was more katsu. My buddy's ramen looked fantastic and was told the noodles were delicious in the broth. Found out the noodles aren't made in house but bought from a vendor. The gyoza and shumai were very tasty alone and with its sauce. The takoyaki took some time to cook but was nicely sauced and served. There were sizable chunks of tako inside and was very tasty. The prices are reasonable for a specialty restaurant and the service was great. There's another Japanese restaurant in Morgantown which was very good but Yama's was a little better and I'd return if ever I'm in Morgantown.

We were denied because it was just the 2 of us. We were seated in a dark area away from everyone else. We waited 10 minutes before someone acknowledged us after we were seated to take our drink orders. Our plates were mostly filled with rice. My husband ordered the chicken-steak combo hibachi and got very little meat While sitting waiting on our food which we got 35 minutes after being seated - I had the pleasure to observe the front cashier. She was more interested in her phone and eating than anyone who walked in or waiting on people who walked up to her. Once our waiter did come over he was very courteous and nice. My husband said he saw him helping other staff when we walked in. Good possibility whoever seated us did not inform him we were seated. Our food was hot and good for what we got, my soup bowl barely had soup in it and my husband's plate barely had meat. Step up Sumo! This was a much better restaurant when you first opened. Also, could you have your staff where uniforms or at least a shirt saying Sumo on it. You couldn't tell who worked there and who didn't.
