Had the occasion to stop and enjoy the buffet. As far as value is concerned, the restaurant exceeded my expectations for lunch items and variety. I'm very disappointed with our experience at Wen Wu Buffet and feel it's important to share this so others know what to expect. First, the customer service was not welcoming. When you walk in, there's no sign or guidance letting you know that you're supposed to seat yourself, which made the experience confusing right from the start. Second, the food selection was very limited and honestly not appetizing. The sushi options were all placed in the same black containers, sitting in a liquid at the bottom of the sushi tub, which was very unappealing. There were also no basic buffet staples you'd normally expect, like orange chicken. Third, the smell inside was overwhelming. The strong scent of cleaning products mixed with food odors made us feel nauseous and uncomfortable while trying to serve ourselves food. What really grossed us out was watching staff clean tables and then immediately go to the food stations and mix the food--this happened repeatedly and made us question the cleanliness and food safety. Lastly, when we asked for a refund, we were given a hard time. I personally didn't eat anything at all, and my husband only tried a very small bite before we decided we needed to leave. Hands down the freshest, greatest Chinese food in the valley! It was not overly salty, everything was fresh not dried or old. Everything had a great taste and was fantastic. You pay ahead of time and they give you your silverware and cup then you seat yourself and eat. With your drink you get your own and your own refills so if you like variety it is there. Standard Chinese, nothing to write home about. The selection is limited, but all the usual favorites are there - crab rangoon, dumplings, chicken platters, et cetera. We were there on a fairly busy Sunday afternoon, and some of the food was cold. They had ice cream for desert, but all four options were near empty, and if you're under 5'7 you have to lean into the freezer to scoop. I found it really unhygienic, as my clothes were almost in the food. The thing that baffled me most was the "service". They have you pre-pay with a tip option, and I'm glad we decided to wait until the end to tip, because there was no one to tip! You refill your own drinks and no one even came to take our plates away. There was a table of five across from us that looked annoyed as they were drowning in plates--then after they left, it all sat there the entirety of our stay. It was gross. For lunch buffet with two sodas it was shy of $16, but I didn't find that the selection and "service" justify the cost, and probably won't return. read more

My husband drags us here about once a month. Do NoT get the buffet unless you want to test your luck with food born viruses. My husband usually orders steamed chicken/shrimp with broccoli, and it's typical. But, everything I've tried is hit-or-miss gross. Very greasy & full of MSG. when we arrived, it was going good. we had to wait 20 minutes for fresh rice. while eating 1/6 of us at the table found a black little bug crawling out of his rice. while we were waiting on a different person from our group who was talking to the staff several nats were flying around us, once the worker had came over he just stood there for a second before walking away, saying nothing. when we went up front to continue talking to him he said there was nothing to do because he had looked for some time and didn't see a bug but he only stood there for a minute. read more

The Buddhist delight is quite nice. I always order it when I come here. The decor is kind of standard. I could do without the TVs,but that is just me. I prefer to listen to the person I am with rather than CNN. The staff is nice enough. In most ways it is a standard American Chinese restaurant. It deserves a much better rating than what it has since I drive from Pennsylvania to eat here and there are many places closer to me. The food wasn't the mediocre crap that I have had at other Chinese buffets I moved to st clairsville from southern California and found this place to be the best Chinese around. I know that some people are in love with the Chopstick restaurants in wheeling, but they definitely are not as good as this place and it is only $5 for a lunch buffet of delicious soups, noodle and rice dishes, vegetarian, chicken and beef entrees. They also have self serve ice cream! It's a good place to take the kids and the owners were very friendly. read more
