Missy is really good. Today Missy wasn't in so an older gentleman cut my hair. Avoid him if you can. He either can't hear, doesn't remember, or doesn't care how you ask him to cut your hair. I was disappointed. If he is there next time I go in, I will just leave. read more

I called the other day as a first time customer. Was told they had a 3:30 PM opening. I called an hour and a half prior. When I got there, she told me, I'm sorry I'm really backed up. I'm by myself. I have four with appointments (they were sitting waiting) and this guy in the chair. Can you come back later or come back tomorrow??? Why would you tell me you have an opening in an hour and a half when you already have four people ahead of me all with appointments? I walked out and went somewhere else and got a great haircut. Carol from here said she had 3 years experience, but gives an awful haircut. I knew something was off about the hair, and tried to put in input at the beginning before it went too far. However, she was very rude and snarky and shot down my comment and suggestions about the hair. The hair came out awful and way way way too short and not the way I tried to ask for it. I called back to try to talk about the situation after and Carol raised her voice on the phone and argued with me. This is extremely unbecoming of Carol and I'm very disappointed with not only the service, but the customer service. The way she treats others is so disappointing and disheartening. read more

I've taken my son here 3 times now but I think that will be it.. We just walked in and it reeks like cigarettes and it's a mess. It's midday on a Thursday and all three chairs are empty and someone pops out from the backs and says "we'll be with you in a sec." After a few minutes, three people emerge. Why are we waiting if there are three of you on duty? And why is it filthy in here if it is empty and three of you are on duty? Cigarette breaks are more important? Gross. As for the haircut, one of the ladies is good, the other is meh. We'll try the other shop down the street next time. read more

Been coming here for years with my son. Always satisfied with nice haircuts. Staff has always been very pleasant.

I've been there several times with my children, Missy did a great job, really up on what the kids 14-16 want. My son was so worried about going to an old fashion Barber, but was pleasantly surprised. My daughter was happy with her cut as well! What did hit them was all the cigarette butts around the front door! My son actually wanted to pick them up to protect their environment!! If they smoke they should at least be clean enough to not polluted the environment! Buy some Ash trays!! read more

Great local barber. They can be busy so if I'm in a rush I may end up somewhere else and it is never as good a cut as Tolland Barber. Gotta love the warm shaving cream straight razor shaves. read more

I agree with the previous review by Kira M. This place is now an absolute ashtray. The younger girl is nice enough, but the older one is harsh. I was told to continue cooling my heels and wait another ten minutes while a smoke break was taken. Seriously. Never again! Lew has been good to Tolland for many years, but I will never return.
