I grew up going to various parks in Houston and Tom Bass was one of the top ones my family utilized when it came to picnics and family gatherings . However, it's also a great park if you are trying to meet your fitness goals. It's so spacious and has numerous areas to workout. It doesn't matter if you run, walk or cycle. Tom Bass is the spot especially if you don't like being around crowds of people. It's also safe and has a nice dog park if you want to bring your furbaby to play.

3.5 stars rounding down. most of the park is open with minimal trees and minimal variety in scenery. there is an amphitheater and some paths and ponds.

(From October 2020) Located in Pearland, it's a large park with three different parts consisting of a pavilion, lake, and golf course. It's also got playgrounds and picnic areas for family experiences. The lake is absolutely stunning when the weather is nice. The sky reflects on the water giving a scene of beauty. My favorite part of this park. Lots of room for walking/jogging and bike rides. I don't know who Tom Bass is but he's a treasure for this park!

I love this park! I come here to walk the trail, have a romantic picnic, family gatherings, and they have a nice dog park. I had to come grit in today and it started raining on me nevertheless, goal achieved! There's also a nice golf course here and an arts pavilion. They have several mini pavilions for public rental. If you come early enough you can catch the deer running through the park. I saw them one morning and it freaked me out!

Absolutely love this park. Tons of things to do. Came here for the dog park and it was huge! Super clean with well maintained grass. Little fun dog obstacle course too. There are designated areas for medium/ large dog breeds and a smaller designated area for dogs under 30lbs. Parking is right in front with a grill and water fountain. Will visit again.

Vast park with plenty of recreational opportunities. Came here with a friend and we had a lovely picnic at a pavilion. I recommend visiting if you are near by!

You can do whatever you want in this big giant park. I visited this park back in 2011 and had a mini picnic with my sister. I came back in 2015 and played with Pocky and even watched my sister fish, since I don't have a fishing license yet. The park is huge. It has bike trails that cover the whole lake, picnic tables and all. I come here just to walk around while listening to music. It's a relaxing park. On the opposite side of the street, there's another park. Even its close by EagleLift Ministries. Just located on Cullen Blvd.

Very large park with multiple playgrounds for the kiddos. Extensive walking trails run for miles. Enough to fill a day of fun, grilling, exercising and golf. Many other activities available too.

It's so clean and I absolutely love all the wild flowers this time of year. This is one of the best place to bike in the inner loop with the separated biking and pedestrian trails. Connects to the heights and all major neighborhoods. A lovely place to get a walk or bike ride in on the evenings or weekends! There are quite a few manicured grass spots for picnics or to bring a book, as well as shaded areas. I have always felt very safe at this park. A 'not so hidden' gem as parking can be a little tough, but leads to not very busy trails. I never realized how beautiful this park is compared to the days I would only drive by!

In a city that is known for tearing down and paving over so much of our history, it is wonderful that this was saved and has been made into a place that visitors can visit and experience. I went with some friends from Kingwood on a Photo Walk of the area, we were lucky that the light and sound experience was still going on, each column in the cistern has LED lighting that changes to the tune of some aethereal music playing silently, the acoustics of the cistern make it sound so beautiful and mesmerizing. When you purchase your ticket online you choose one of the available times, upon entry they give you 30 minutes, the time passed quickly. Be ready if you are taking pictures or better yet, a video. Smart phones work great but you might consider turning off auto focus and just focusing manually if you know how because when it gets dark for a moment and then the lights come on most cameras auto focus has to search for focus so it goes in and out of focus. When you leave, there is a skateboard park up above and worth some time for taking pictures of the acrobatic skating going on.

The Michael Jackson playlist serenading us from the Gaspacho's eatery was nostalgic. Even though the Sunset Bingo MC was difficult to hear while seated on the grass, the staff were more than willing to rearrange some tables to accommodate the growing crowd. On my way to the (super clean!) restroom I I saw that they had a reading room, which made me instantly fall in love! They also have an arts & craft station with materials free to use. There were many families with young kids enjoying the water playground areas. The fact that they have family reservations available lets me know that this park is well aware of its draw and appeal.
