There are plenty of partitions and a pavilion area for events as well as my favorite-a doggie park! Not because I have a dog, but when people bring their furry loved ones to the park they have their own area to run and play-giving walkers and joggers like me some space to exercise. Additionally, this park has a small and big dog park. And not to make anyone confused about the definition of small and big, they put the weight requirement on the signage to each park. You know that this a dog friendly park based on all the doggie doo receptacles all around the park too. Did not spot not a ONE pile of doggie doo on my walk. Thank you dog parents for being kind and not leaving doggie doo behind! For human parents, you can come to this park and not have to worry about bad weather delaying your plans to take your child to the park since the playground area is covered. Many parents even bring chairs and sit around the playground area to watch their children play and protected from some of the elements. If you look closer by the events doorway there is a book depot for people to leave books and take books. I love seeing these in communities because it not only supports the importance of reading but creates a sense of community. For a quick walk before running some errands or to let your kids play (human and furry) this is a nice park to visit anytime of the year.

They have two sections: small dogs and large breeds. Since I have two small dogs, most of my time is spent in the small dog section - although, we have occasionally moved over to use the large dog area. Both dog parks have a covered area for the Owners to sit in shade with picnic tables. There are bag dispensers in multiple locations for easy clean up of your fur baby. Both sides have a water feature, although my dogs much prefer the larger swim pond on the large dog side since it's very small and muddy on the small dog section. Both parks have a foot worn path around the park for both humans and pups to take a walk and get some exercise - often happens in a group setting so you get to know the other owners. And, just outside the fenced dog parks they have two dog bath stations so you can rinse off your fur babies before loading them up to bring home. This is a good, community dog park !

Strawberry Park has it all. Everything!…read more The track is well lit even at night; it's a complete mile all the way around. A gigantic Tennis area, I am always surprised how full that area is. Strawberry Park includes baseball fields that are also well lit in the evenings. They have a Basketball area, and pavilion for hosting private and public events. There is a workout station near the main entrance. They have a fairly new, small and fun waterpark that won't break the bank. Disappointed the volleyball area is gone to make way for the waterpark. They have plenty of room, I hope they find a new area for it, soon. They are plentiful in picnic areas with pits, playground areas for tots, and bigger kiddos. The bathroom area, is a no go zone.

Buffalo Run Park is a beautiful place to be. Whether you are here looking for inner peace after a…read morelong work day or someone getting their long run in, this is the place to be. I was here at Buffalo Run Park here in Missouri City for an annual running endurance event for charity called Snowdrop 55 hour ultra. 55 hours to do a 0.69 mile loop around the lake. The park itself is amazing and while you can see parts of the lake at different locations, the best ones were on the bridge. During my event here, I saw the sunset over the lake and it was amazing. I saw the sunrise too but on a different area of the park. The park itself was a slice of Missouri city, far away enough from Houston and it was cool just to be here. Half of the park is a picnic ground with a little parking area. The other half is a large asphalt paved path around a large lake. It's quite a nice place to be in, although the weather was okay during the day and wicked cold at night. I guess my local Houston friend was right when she said Texas weather in late December is very bipolar. Can't make up its mind. I assumed it was going to be warmer but turns out, nope. For the most part though, my time at Buffalo Run Park was very cool and glad to be able to come. I arrived at the parking area and walked over to the asphalt trail. The path around the loop was scenic, clear of debris, and you can see snippets of the lake on one side and a lot on the other side. It was definitely worth it though. I highly recommend coming to Buffalo Run Park when you are in the area. It's peaceful and quieter than you think. You'll get a lot of peace here for sure. The overall experience here at Buffalo Run Park was very nice and pleasant. The weather was pleasant during the day with no rain and cloudy / clear skies and a lot of sunshine, but while I was here, the temperatures dipped into the mid 30's F and made it increasingly cold and difficult. I enjoyed the local flora and the trees in the park itself. I'm not sure if people actually go swimming in the lake or fishing, but I'm just a visitor. My time here was spent doing multiple laps around the asphalt lake path that circumvented the lake with many other like minded people and individuals. The bridge overlooking the lake was my favorite part of the loop because it was incredibly beautiful and so awesome to watch the sunset and sunrise. There were some benches along the loop for anyone and everyone who wanted to sit down and chill after walking or running the lakeside path. For the most part though, it was great to be here. I saw this little building that jutted out into the lake. Not sure what that was used for, but just felt like it was something to look at while I was here. I didn't see much of wildlife creeping on the lakefront path, which is a good thing. Only things I saw were local area birds flying overhead from time to time. And so, if you enjoy nature and the peace and quiet, consider coming out here to Buffalo Run park in Missouri city, Texas. Possibly the best time of your life. Buffalo Run Park is located in Missouri City, Texas. It's physically located at 1122 Buffalo Run Blvd in the heart of the city. It's a community park for anyone and everyone, so no admission fees charged. Completely free, which suits me just fine. As far as parking goes, there's 2 parking lots that services the park. The main one that connects you to the picnic area and the boat launch. And the smaller one that's right on Buffalo Run, near the gas station. Best bet would Be to have your own car or rent one. Or even better yet, find local Houston friends and they can give you a ride. Not sure if there is regional public transportation here to get you to Buffalo run Park from anywhere in Houston, but there's always the Internet to help you get your way down here. There's always Uber or Lyft if you require their services. This community park is always in good shape and maintained by the local Park Authority. Maybe one of these years I will come back and get a glimpse at that observatory that they have installed on the lake. Might just be the best viewing station to see the sunset or sunrise over the lake. Maybe not in December but who knows. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+

You'll see a water fountain, a MERR sign (short for merry?) and some statue bust displays of Mr. Hall and Helen herself. It's clear they had some positive footprints on the League City area based on the information written on their bust displays. Small amount of parking, it's worth stopping by for the 5-10 minutes and strolling around forgetting your troubles.

They have shady areas too which was nice since it was so hot out. There are also bathrooms which was much appreciated. They were setting up for a small wedding too which was fun to watch. Definitely a pretty backdrop for a wedding and photos.
