During my consultation Scott made sure to go over many options for the fabric, number of buttons, inner lining and all of the measurements. This was before choosing other accessories such as a tie that would look good with my suit. I have had a few suits made by Tom James in the past and was very impressed with the quality and attention to detail. I am looking forward to a new suit I ordered for an upcoming wedding. BEWARE!!! The quality of the clothing is lacking!!! I purchased a number of suits, shirts, pants and even shoes. The first time I wore one suit the first time and a beltloop detached from the pants... I reached out to my high pressure sales person Tate Zigerman to let her know and the first thing she told me was that my suit I sent the picture of was a suit she didn't sell me?? I had explained the exact suit and color to her and after she remembered selling me the suit a few weeks earlier, she told me that it was because the the belt was pulled hard upward???? I put my belt on the same way I do with all of my other clothes and never had this issue. Immediately, I thought, "oh man, this is how it's going to be after she is done with the sale???" Either way, a pair of split pants and a suit jacket with the interior torn (both after only 2 wears) on top of the belt loop, told me that what i am paying good money for is not worth it. Buttons falling off, Threads coming out.... Not what you would expect. The answer form Tate and her team... "there is only a 30 day repair window after anything is provided to you..." It's unbelievable and frustrating. Not to mention Tate's sales tactics are VERY aggressive and she asks for referrals so she can make her President's Club every time. She has absolutely no remorse, she is in it for the sale and then will leave you hanging with any issue. It's completely unprofessional but more importantly, the quality of the clothing is sub par at best. Again, Buyer beware!!!!! read more

I was seriously looking for some great bespoke clothing for myself. The Tom James salesperson Patrick Davis came in my boyfriends office to sell him some clothes. I was so excited. I cannot even express the horror I felt when Patrick basically blew me off and Inferred to me that I could not afford their clothing. How can you you judge a person so quickly without even having a 5 minute conversation with them. 100% scam. It has taken over one year since i ordered the clothes. Both the sport jacket and a suit jacket required alterations to the armpit. That took three months. The 16 measurements they supposedly take they were off in the waist by 3 inches. I'm now paying a Professional Tailor To alter the $400 jeans which I am embarrassed to say I purchased, as well as the three pairs of pants. The custom shirts came back missing the button hole on one sleeve. If an attractive woman approaches you in an elevator and complements you on your Clothing, run! So I'm a weird size... I hit 5'7 on a good day, but mostly 5'6 (okay, entirely 5'6), but I'm athletic with a built upper body, but a 32" waist. Having the "better" department stores tailor what they have off the rack for me still gives me shirts that are tight on the bicep/tricep, but really baggy around the waist and slacks that look pleated in the back-end from being "taken in" more than should be legally allowed (I think they believe shorter people must all look like Danny Devito). The result: I don't look and feel my best and I'm constantly re-tucking my dress shirts, but still feeling sloppy. I started working with Tate Zigerman at Tom James about 18 months ago. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after trying on the first shirt, pair of slacks and sport coat, I realized how much I'd been missing. The difference was staggering. I I tried to hang on to a few of my better fitting, non-Tom James items, but I found that I hated the way they felt, fit and how I looked in them. I never wanted to wear them. In contrast, with the Tom James apparel, I constantly receive compliments on the fit and style of what I'm wearing. I have officially replaced every dress shirt, sport coat, blazer and suit in my wardrobe ..and while it hasn't been inexpensive, it has all been wife approved! I recently have begun overhauling my casual wardrobe under Tate's direction and guidance with great results! Now I feel great on casual Fridays and in a non-work setting! (mind blown) Tate has really helped my fashion sense. Let's face it - I was pretty conservative with color, pattern and flat out narrow-minded with what I believed matched (blue with blue and brown with brown, right?). Tate has been wonderful in helping me build a versatile closet where so much of my wardrobe can work together in so many different combinations. Tate is always willing to answer my questions about "what can go with what". Tate helps me push my boundaries, but always has a sense for what might be too much for me. I've learned to trust her judgement on a fabric, a pattern, or a combination with great results. Frequently, I'm stuck between a few options and seek her opinion and she always comes through. I absolutely allow Tate to handle the details, such as buttons, stitching, etc. and I'm never disappointed. Is it an investment? I'd been to a few trunk shows in the past and had purchased clothing from another clothier before Working with Sierra and wasn't terribly satisfied with the service or the clothing. Sierra on the other hand was completely opposite of my prior experiences. She was knowledgeable and helpful in selecting items that could be used in a number of situations from professional to casual. The clothes have been great, not only do they look great, but they fit exceptionally well. Worst suits I've EVER worn. These overpriced suits are the crappiest quality you can get. After 6 months, both suits aI bought are falling apart. Don't waste your money on these things. I can't tell you how aggressive these people are. If you buy a single item from them, or even have the courage to endure a sit down meeting with them after they have pressured you for one, you and everyone you know will likely regret it. They will scour your linkedin profile for people you are connected to and then they will call some of them, getting past your gatekeepers by telling the secretary that so and so asked them to give you a call. Takes too long for them to get it right sometimes but that might just be because I have long gorilla arms and one shoulder drops slightly lower than the other. I'm a hard guy to fit! read more

I've been working with Tate Zigerman for a few years now. We met while I was on my way to buy clothes from my favorite store. I'm a city councilor and business owner and I have to be on TV and In the media fairly regularly, so clothes are important to me. I arrived at the store and the salesperson was trying to sell me stuff that didn't fit, told me I had gained weight and it would fit as soon as I got fit. I called Tate right after that experience and never looked back. She shows up on time wherever I am ready to help, she's extremely efficient and is an expert clothier. My clothes fit perfectly. My style has increased substantially. I couldn't be happier. The cool thing is she handles sports coats, suits and business attire but I buy all my casual stuff from her too, name brands I was already wearing that show up hemmed, fitting perfectly and ready to go. It just works beautifully and it's worth every penny, usually a high value to what I was paying before, especially for custom clothing. If anything doesn't fit perfectly she takes care of it immediately. If I'm not totally elated, she's not happy and makes it right. That almost never happens but it's cool to know she's got my back. Oh, and when I lost some of that campaign weight, she had my clothes tailored to fit back down. I started with their lowest price line, and the quality there was very good and a high value. I still wear all that stuff. As I got more comfortable with the quality of the product lines I've been exploring the other levels. If you want a true luxury clothing product, Tate delivers and it's going to be nicer than anything you see anyone else wearing. If you need everyday custom clothing that fits perfectly and wears great for a high value, she's got that too and it's going to look better than anything anyone is buying off the rack. BEWARE BRIDGET WOODS! In the last couple of months, I have ordered over $6k of custom clothing (suits, shirts, slacks, sportcoat) Unfortunately, my rep left the company and I was paired with Bridget Woods. Bridget is apparently #2 in the company for sales-- but not for customer satisfaction. Within the week which I was engaged with her, she lied to me multiple times - delivered clothing which felt a little off, but told me that it fit perfectly (apparently a tactic that she uses often)-- which resulted in me wearing a pair of slacks to a big client meeting and having them buckle in the back as soon as I put my belt on... and assured me that ALL of my pants would fit the same so I wouldn't try them on-- and every pair fit differently. Ignored a bunching in the lining of a sportcoat which caused an unsettleable wrinkle, and had a snag in the chest of the fabric--- and then tried to sell me more. It may be that she just didn't check the garment before delivery, but when you pay over $1500 for a custom sportcoat, that is just not acceptable. After my first meeting, I contacted her with concerns and pictures of the problem-- she said she would come by on a Tuesday to discuss, and then stood me up for the appointment to discuss the concerns that I had. When I finally was able to get her over, she told me that she "was Tom James" in an effort to remedy it, but then gave every excuse possible and pointed fingers as to why nothing was her fault, told me that my shirts - which I could fit my whole hand in the collar - would fit after washing (and an extra hot washing and then a trip to the cleaners didn't change a thing). After that, she blamed the factory for the 3 month delay in getting the first item ( a suit which I had ordered for a wedding the month before) because their production facility is "union"-- but that is a Tom James problem, not the customers. I am a Sales and Marketing consultant, so I know a thing or two about these things. Not one item was right, on time, or was there any accountability on her end. Thankfully, when I addressed these items with her and asked to speak with her manager, the RVP stepped in and has made everything right. The quality when things are right is unbelievable - providing a fit that my Armani, Canali, and Zegna, which I have bought for years, could never give. The pricing for what I purchased is a little higher than my traditional brands, but they have a wide range of fabrics and options which you cannot get off the rack. So... if you want to look like a million bucks, Tom James can do it. And within the budget you are looking for. Just be patient with the first orders as they can take a little time to get the exact measurements honed in. But if you don't want to deal with service and approach that you would be better at a used car lot - "what will it take to put you in this sportcoat that is really in this season", DO NOT WORK WITH BRIDGETT WOODS. No matter what they tell you, there are always other reps out there who actually take the time to understand your needs, will be honest with you, and will check garments before delivery. Not to beat a dead horse, but STAY CLEAR OF BRIDGETT WOODS. read more

If I could give negative numbers, this company would warrant it. My husband worked with them for his suit for our wedding and everything went wrong. We paid a beyond steep amount for three pieces, knowing it would be a one time luxury given the importance of the event; they only made two. His shirt didn't fit. Ever. His jacket and pants were supposed to be altered and the sales rep showed up not having even checked to ensure the work was done. It wasn't. We asked to see a tie to match the suit-- sales rep never brought it. We called and called and called to see when the third piece would be done. No calls back over an entire week only to be told "oh, uh, they had to make new fabric, so it hasn't been started yet." We called their corporate office to ask them to deal with the situation; they promised to do so and never got back in touch with us. With all the persuasive power yelp can afford, for goodness sake, go to Nordstrom or the Garment District or anywhere else. Tom James should be ashamed of itself. I would have clothing sooner if I took a sewing class, grew my own cotton, and made my own fabric! Its 5 months now and I still dont have my clothing. (But they were quick to collect payment) After 3+ months, the clothing finally arrived and didnt even come close to fitting me. The factory in China had to re-make it. Still waiting. My concerns have been ignored and I cant even get a call from management. At this point, I am ready to dispute the charge and they can put the clothing where the sun doesnt shine. Save your money- when I got a glance of what I purchased (before it went back), I noticed the quality really isnt that great and the fabrics arent all that special either. She gets my husband's style and thinks outside the box with design & color. His suits & custom shirts fit him like a glove. I was approached by a Tom James rep shortly before Christmas 2017. I was in the market for a sport coat so I provided the rep with my contact information. The rep reached out to me by phone and left a message that I didn't return promptly. The rep then showed up at my office unannounced and asked to schedule an appointment which I obliged. A few days later we sat down and reviewed the fabrics at my office which was very convenient. I decided to give them a try to see if I would continue to use them for my custom clothing needs. I was told the process would take 6 weeks which is about the norm for true bespoke clothing. The sales rep is not a tailor. They are trained to measure to their intake sheet in order to get the garment manufactured. Fast forward to mid -March 2018 for my first fitting (about 10 weeks after my initial consult). Also note that the rep missed the initial jacket fitting and told me that it was a scheduling conflict (after I contacted them to figure out where they were; bad service). The fit was ok but needed some tweaks. The jacket was then sent back to the factory which I was told would take 2 weeks. After following up with the rep (4 weeks later) I was told the jacket just came back. After finally receiving the jacket, after alterations, it cosmetically looks ok but I do question the craftsmanship of the garment since there are some stiches that are exposed (again a true bespoke, handmade garment shouldn't have that issue). The jacket was also delivered wrinkled (for the price you are paying it should be delivered ready to wear). The price is expensive (for the type of fabric) and if you know what you're looking for, working with a local tailor is a far better option price and service wise. I would also mention that they attempt to sell you shoes, jeans, slacks, etc. Overall the process was painful. They constantly ask for your personal contacts in order to reach out to them to try to get them to buy custom clothing. Over the years I've purchased over 10 custom suits and many custom shirts so the bar was set high for Tom James to live up. Overall, style wise the jacket looks good but I wouldn't use Tom James again. read more
