My dentist was an Air Force Colonel who recently retired. My wife said we need to pick a new dentist. I'll be polite, his replacement is a doowacker. My wife looks at our new plan and chooses a dentist in Middle Island?! While I'm getting coffee across from the campus, I see a new dentist office that opened? Bless my stars! I walk in and speak to the office manager. I tell her I have great dental plan, can I come to the Koeppel Dental Group? Middle Island is so far for me to drive and, wait a second! Is that fresh baked cookies I smell? The office manager is looking at my insurance and explains that the Koeppel Dental Group is a private dentist practice. If you need oral surgery or a crown replaced, the Koeppel Dental Group is ready to assist. But, I can make sure that we will clean your teeth and use my insurance. How awesome is that? Here's the dad review. Just say you live 100+ miles away from Stony Brook and your child is going to the college. If they need any type of dental work, I highly recommend the Koeppel Dental Group. This is a dedicated group of professionals that will take the highest care of your child's dental needs.

I never received a call back the evening before. However, I received a call the following afternoon to come in 2 hours later due to a cancellation. Joe never verified my insurance, so once I got there and waited about 10 minutes. He started the process of running my insurance and unfortunately he said they took Aetna but not the Aetna I had. This was a waste of time and this was an emergency visit as I needed a cap recemented because it fell off. I would definitely make sure you have the office or you verify insurance prior to going to this provider! Never received treatment so no comment as to the Dentist.

The dental hygienist I met during my first visit (I'll come back with her name) possesses the perfect touch. Thorough, yet no discomfort. The front desk is wonderful. (I'm super embarrassed to not have name while posting, as she is the bomb.) She immediately put me at ease upon arrival, and then again during checkout. In general I find dentist visits to be stressful and anxiety provoking, but not here. Located in Stonybrook, they are a bit of a drive for me, but completely worth it. https://www.watkinsfamilydentistryofstjames.com/ Dr. Watkins holds hours in multiple locations. (Stonybrook, St. James.) The Stonybrook location is located in quaint building, situated in a stunning neighborhood, with views of the area. The building entrance and practice are accessible to wheelchairs. (Including the rest room.) The office is 4A. This is on the 3rd floor. Press "2" in the elevator. Bear left when exiting the elevator. Posting a draft review, so I don't forget. Superb practice!

After that in order to see the dentist you'd have to drive all the way to the hospital for them to do a PCR test for you to then drive all the way back there the next day to have the work done on your mouth if you live 45 minutes away that's an hour and a half just for them to stick a Q-tip up your nose so I suffered longer. But during that time and for the following year and a half they continue to send me a bill for four dollars every single month sometimes twice a month. They spent over $300 trying to collect four dollars from me. I called the billing department over 10 times to discuss the matter and billing and every single time I called I got put into a No one ever answers the phone. After leaving 10 different messages on 10 different occasions still call back. I finally went up to the school to make an appointment now that you don't have to unnecessarily drive an hour and a half to get a PCR test. When I was done making my series of appointments that do because it's been quite a while. I went over to the billing department to speak to the about not returning my calls for the last three years. I told her that this kind of frustration is what drives people to do crazy things like just go after people and kill them because there's crazy people in the world. At no point did I threaten this woman or say that I would do this? I said that's why people do things like that out of frustration. Well that alarmed this woman and rather than talking about it, they decided to put me on a terrorist list with security. I think most of it was just a pure embarrassment that she must've felt because when I went to complain to her, the last thing I said to her your job in a very loud angry voice
