One of the medications they failed to fill was needed for a post operative surgical need requiring my doctor on day of surgery to find an alternative pharmacy to dispense the medication. This experience was humiliating and alarming. They transferred her prescription to Walgreens and I was able to pick up her three medications just 15 minutes before closing time. BCBS informed me that the Walgreens counter person had the ability to verify insurance coverage in seconds. Instead, I had to deal with another millennial who gleefully outlined in excruciating detail why he could not help me directly. In the time he told me no he could have simply verified BCBS insurance coverage. The pharmacist on duty noticed but simply ignored the lack of customer service.
