We came here at 7:30 on a Saturday. Cute restaurant! It was on the smaller side but still roomy. We sat in the dining room. It felt very rustic but charming. The service was great! Now the food...everything was perfect! We got the coconut shrimp for an appetizer and they were crispy! We all got entrees which came with salads and bread. We got the chicken carbonara, stuffed shells, mushroom ravioli with pesto, and lasagna. Everything was fresh and flavorful! Prices were great so we got a bottle of wine from the Abruzzo region of Italy. So nice selection! Loved everything about it and will be back! read more

This was better than even the first trip. Everything was perfect. The fried green tomatoes with my own bowl and spoon for red tomato sauce to go on top? Say less. The veal is a special and as you can tell is my favorite. And this was HUGE!? Like 3 ginormous pieces. I prefer the sauce here. Idk just do. Server either owned the place or the owners should be grateful she's on staff 1 of the 2. Only downsides could be maybe parking, maybe seating. Place up the road couldn't accommodate so we went here instead and was in and out with dessert in an hour. read more

I really enjoyed the pizza from here. Calling in an order was easy and pick up was seamless. They are quite expensive however. GLOWS: -The pizzas were very good. Stopped here after a drive for Saturday night dinner. My previous food experience in Oakland was lackluster so I was somewhat hesitant. Nestled in a small neighborhood if you blink you might miss it, but it has outdoor seating, small bar, and plenty of tables inside. Ordered a diet and a water, as well as cheese bread to start. Next time the pesto cheese bread might be a better option - as this was just a cheese pizza without sauce. I did like it - the cheese quality tasted good. And the marinara was more chunky and tangy. As for the entree I decided on pasta over pizza - which is somewhat amateurish considering the place has PIZZA in its name. That's a rule - if it has a food in the name - there's a reason and you should probably get that. I got the chicken parmesan (big surprise). The portion was massive - and had I not wanted to spoil dessert I may have buckled down (or loosened my buckle) and hammered this down. It was really good - chicken was thin and breaded right. Huge amount of spaghetti. For dessert I got the cannoli. Which were pretty standard - I'm not sure if they make them in-house but I believe based on taste they probably come from a local bakery? I'll start with the positives.. 1) we were able to place an order by just showing up as they had their phone off the hook due to how busy they were. 2) the place is quaint, the staff seemed very friendly As for the food, it's not the style of pizza that we are accustomed to, the thin crust is an obvious frozen pizza and the thick crust was just not enjoyable. We ordered 4 pies and a calzone but threw most of it out....even the kids wouldn't eat it. There really aren't a lot options around here though so perhaps try the place for yourself as we are from NY and to be considered pizza snobs. read more

I came here from out of town and had the most amazing calzone that I've ever had. They also include ricotta in the base menu item so you don't have to spend extra to include it! I added garlic to mine and they did NOT skimp - it was the most garlic-y calzone that I've had! It was also giant, I think I was full for three meals after - it was just so delicious that I couldn't stop eating it! My only complaint is that they were impossible to get ahold of on the phone so I had to drive into town with my family to place the to-go order at the cash register. This place had been opened only for dinner until about a year ago now they are opened Tues.-Sat. 11am-8pm. For lunch we ordered 3 subs; they only have hot subs. Really it was very good...l got the Italian and I love a sub with lots of lettuce, tomatoes, onions and dressing! They come with some homemade chips for $9.00. For this area the food is great! We moved here from the Baltimore area. East Coast family, we know good pizza. We've ordered takeout pies from every place nearby including Deep Creek Lake area (Brenda's/Uno's is better, but also much further away). We're in Terra Alta and have had Tomanetti's 3 times in the past couple months, they're hands down the best around here. (Speaking to the pizza not the staff as we've never eaten in-house). Whoever's in the kitchen has impressed us 3/3 times. We're nerds and get the Garden Veggie on Cauliflower crust. If you don't know - that's *incredibly hard* to make crispy without being burnt or soggy. Veggies are mostly water, and cauliflower crust is prone to overcooking. I'll even put a timestamp on our most recent order to give credit where it's due: Saturday Sept 24th around 8pm. Whoever made our pie - delicious as always, keep killin' it in there! P.S. Can also attest to the awesomely generous portions. Our veggie pizzas are always LOADED which makes me and my wife giddy like school girls when we open the box. We found this small family pizzeria right off the main drag in Oakland. After seating ourselves we were greeted and given menus. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The portions here are large, so bring a good appetite. My hubs had the spaghetti and meatballs and I had a flatbread chicken pesto pizza. We will be back! read more

The meatball appetizer is delicious with four huge meatballs. We also tried the meat-zza pizza and really enjoyed the flavor of it.

We are on a quick weekend getaway looking forward a nice local place with good pizza - Tomanetti's was perfect. Everything was delicious and service was good. The garlic cheesy bread is amazing! I decided to give this place try based on a few reviews. The pizza dough was tough. The chicken pesto ordered was bland. The pasta noodles were drenched in olive oil, no sign of pesto sauce and chicken was undercooked and rubbery. The place was deserted when we showed up. You notice right away it's not the cleanest place. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding and the portions were more than I could even handle! We got the cheesy breadsticks which were a great choice. My wife got the chef salad which was loaded like an antipasto. I got a stromboli which was enormous and very tasty. My wife got wings and asked them to mix two sauces to make garlic parm wings which they did and were great! Good food with generous portions. No delivery and kind of a small menu, but what they do is good. Hours seem to change sometimes so maybe call to make sure they are open. Best place for italian without going to the crowded lake. They do catering as well. read more

Came to Oakland for an overnight stay prior to going snowboarding at Wisp. We ordered the $20 special of wings, large pizza 2/ one topping, and 2 liter soda... with a side of breadsticks. We were VERY pleasantly surprised at the friendly service over the phone, quick delivery, and - most of all - the delicious food! I'm a pescetarian so I couldn't eat the half of sausage that the boys ate, but the mushrooms were to die for. They could've been a little more generous with the amount of toppings, but overall the quality was superb. We LOVED being at Tomanetti's! We ate on the patio, but the indoor space was very nice and well-decorated - a true Italian restaurant feel. The patio was nice and relaxing. Our waitress was very kind, and the food was amazing! The portions are very big, so be ready to eat or take home leftovers! We got the chicken parmesan, and the marinara was nicely done. We also got the crab ravioli, which was delicious as well. The salad and freshly baked bread were great side dishes. The location is great and not far from the local park, so we were able to walk around after dinner. We will definitely be back at Tomanetti's! read more

Just got home from a dinner at Tomanettis. My first trip there with the current owners. I was greatly surprised. The setting was very clean with a pub like feel. I ordered wings to start. They were very good, very meaty and came out promptly. Also they are the best price in town at $1/each. I also ordered a calzone. I wish I had my phone with me so I could post a photo. It was huge. Definitely enough for two people. It was baked golden brown, very crispy crust and loaded with the toppings. They also have a varied menu with Italian dinners. Was just informed by yelp that "Greg" commented on my first review... after sarcastically calling me "cool" and stating that it's amazing that the whole story wasn't told, one can only assume that he is actually from the shop and was there that night the incident occurred. I admittedly didn't get the guys names while being harassed that night. So now the harassment now continues online... Thanks Greg... the entire story is as follows. I had just arrived at a rental cabin near wisp with some of my friends looking for a fun ski weekend, they were unsure of where to get pizza for the group so I pulled up my trusty yelp app on my phone and looked for pizza joints near where we were. Since it was heavily snowing at the time, I was hoping to get delivery. According to yelp, tomanettis delivered and had better reviews (at the time) than the other local places. After calling, being put on hold three times, I was informed that they wouldn't deliver to where I was at because of distance... while I was disappointed, I reluctantly decided to brave the snow and come pick up the pizza. After all, I ordered 4 large pizzas and a salad and was told $56 on the phone so the price and previous stated review seemed like a good deal. After finally getting there in the snow, passing 4 other pizza joints on the way, I entered tomanettis and informed them I was there to pick up my order. I was told it was going to be $63 dollars. Since I was already told $56 on the phone I obviously questioned the price difference. I was informed that someone else from my party had called in and ordered two more pizzas while I was in route to tomanettis. While I was skeptical, my friend who was with me called back to the house just to check. As we expected, no one else ordered any pizza from our group. When I explained that I didn't order any other pizza, the guys behind the counter disagreed with me and said someone else called in. After a little back and forth, I told them that no one from our group called in, there is only 9 of us why would we order 6 large pizzas? And then said that I only wanted my order of 4 pizzas and the salad. They asked my phone number to check through the caller id and see if I called in, obviously they didn't find it since no one from my group called back in. They then were visibly upset that I didn't want to pay for the pizzas that they claimed I ordered but very obviously didn't. I was then charged $67 dollars. I once again obviously questioned the pricing add I was originally told on the phone $56, was charged $63 when I arrived (for 6 pizzas and a salad), and then finally charged $67 for my original order. When I questioned the pricing, I got a shrug from the guy behind the counter and he showed me the bill asking if I wanted to count it up myself? Clearly I did and it added up to $67, but that wasn't the point... why was I charged 3 different prices? After this I was obviously frustrated and foolishly decided to just pay the bill just to get out of there and away from the ridiculousness. Upon turning to leave, several comments were uttered under their breath which I couldn't completely hear. I loudly stated fire them to hear "this is ridiculous, you guys really need to get your act together!" I was then yelled at, that next time I should pay for ask the pizza I ordered. I said in return "don't worry I'll never be back to order any more!" I was then chased literally out the door and yelled at again to never come back... unbelievable! Worst service I've ever experienced! I then follow up this entire post with this thought... why would I drive 20 min in the snow past 4 other pizza joints to allegedly order more pizza than I wanted? Then have the nerve to show up and not pay for all of it? Needless to say... no sane person would do this. Grow up tomanettis... grow up! read more

Had a great time at this local pizza shop. The boyfriend and I decided to eat in and Kelly, the cashier/waitress, was very attentive and kind. We split a dozen mild wings which were delicious!, and also split the double cheese steak sub which was fantastic with actual chunks of steak! I can't recommend this place enough.
