What a great find!! My husband and I decided to go ona random road trip. We decided that whatever place we chanced upon to eat we will stop at. At first we were getting worried because for each town we passed through, there were no place to eat and we choose not to fast food food chains. Kept driving and then found the cute town of Keyser. We actually passed this restaurant but because the outside look of the restaurant kinda drew our attention, so we u-turned and went in. So first things first, you have to order & pay first before sitting in, there is a counter as soon as you enter. The place is a bit small, they had about 10 tables, four chairs a piece. Looking at the menu, I must say they are pretty cheap for italian. We are used to a little more pricier in our area so we were a little worried the portions were going to be small, but I was so hungry I didn't care. My husband got the Chicken Parmesian $13.50 and I got the Baked Ziti with Meat $11.50. Each plate is served with a salad and bread. Salad came out first, it was a big salad. Ask for the house salad dressing, it is like a vinaigrette with spices, really good. Then they brought the bread and butter, one full roll for each of us, was really warm. Really soft and oh so good. Then came out the plates meals. Omgeeeee...... I thought they gave us too much but no! That is how they serve their meals. My husband's plate looked like there was a pound of spaghetti and tons of mozzarella all over the plate. As he swirled the noodles, he saw that there was layer after later of cheese and sauce. Plus 3 chicken parmesan cutlets. Most places dont give that much. And mine.....let me tell you... my meal was so heavy I was rolling laughing. Each scoop of pasta was coated with mozzarella cheese and meat with sauce. Everything was delicious!!! But we couldn't finish our plates, so we took it home. We also had to try their Limoncello with Mascarpone filling cake. It was super soft, full of flavor and so worth it. Must get it!! But I believe it's not an everyday dessert so it might be different on different days. So keep and eye out for the small sign of Dessert of the Day. So keep in mind, huge portions!! One order can feed 2 or 3. This place is a gem and I'm so glad we chanced it. A must go to, you won't regret it!! read more

This place is fantastic! Only carry out since Covid however makes little difference because you could never eat everything without taking some home anyway! Portions are HuGE! All the hype. As per usual, I am not on the right eating schedule. Also, not knowing we were going there until we were there. Not anyone's fault, just didn't prepare my stomach to ingest that much food. I made zero dent. I got the veal parm as I normally do. It was great, and it was great the next day, and it was great the next day and the one after that. I couldn't waste the food. For all the years and how everyone talks about this place, I was taken back by how little and plain it was. Here, I thought it was like a more fine dining place. The parking lot is very small, you may have to park on the street or across the street in a former Sheetz parking lot. It is a smaller building with limited seating, so expect a wait time and tight quarters. SERVICE: I have never had poor service here. They take your order with a smile, seat you and take care of your needs when you request extras. **PLEASE NOTE:** When you dine-in, you order first, then they seat you in the order you come in. Some people get butched by this- but that's how they do it. SELECTION: There is a MOUNTAIN of options from pizza (custom-order and speciality pies), traditional pasta dishes like chicken and veal parm, manicotti and ziti, to subs and sandwiches. Not to mention appetizers and salads. FOOD: If I'm the only review you've chosen to read- their portions are INSANE-O and HUGE! Most people would report an average order can serve as (a) a shareable meal with leftovers (b) a meal for the whole family (c) two meals and leftovers for the week (d) all of the above. Ever have a great meal or food and the next day you crave the meal again? In this joint- just walk to your fridge and reheat the leftovers and you can have it all over. You would think that by the images this place was awesome! Well not my experience. I ordered a plate of baked ziti, it came with a salad, and a hard roll. The baked ziti was definitely piled and piled on top of one another. Four people could eat off of it, one probably for two days. I ate one big scoop, it had a good taste but some noodles were like soggy or hard. I tried to eat some on my lunch break and it just wasn't good anymore. Amazing food. I had the chicken parmigiana and a spinach turnover. Seriously, good stuff. Portion sizes are stupid big. I've literally eaten on it three times and I still have over half left. My only gripe is that I asked for breadsticks with my meal since the menu says I could have that in place of the salad for $1 more, but they told me they didn't do that anymore. Three of us just visiting Keyser for the day and found the most wonderful Italian take-out lunch restaurant ever, anywhere. Our ziti and chicken parmesan was perfectly prepared, the portions bigger than all others, and the cost was well under our budget. If I had two wishes I would require the governor to reopen restaurant seating to allow for the complete in-dining experience or simply transport the entire restaurant and staff to my hometown of Winchester, VA to provide our residents with true and affordable Italian dining. read more

I ate in last week and had a pretty good experience. It is a bit confusing when you walk in since you are not sure whether you will be seated or should seat yourself. The answer is neither. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. This means I still have not figured out whether to tip or not. The employees are not very helpful with this process. The food was outstanding. First when you plan on trying this place and you should, get here early. The parking area isn't that big, so leave your gas guzzling Suburban at home! Once you walk in, get in line to order at the cash register. They have multiple copies of the menu, so if you're waiting in line, go get one so you can decide while you're waiting to order. Once you order, have a seat in the small area in front of the cash register until your food is ready. When your food is finished, they will call your name, wipe off a table and seat you. Do not stand and wait for a table to open up and rush over to grab it like you're at the Outback Steakhouse! You may be jumping in front of people that ordered in front of you and their food will be out sooner! The meal itself is worth the wait! I hope you're hungry too. I've traveled all over and these are the largest portions i've ever seen! I've had a calzone, it's huge! Chicken parm, huge! Eggplant parm, yup, gigantic! Even the breadsticks look like baseball bats...lol Our last family dinner there a child ordered noodles with butter. Well the noodles arrived in a large bowl but they forgot the butter. We flagged a server down and they quickly rushed out some melted butter....a soup bowl full of melted butter!! lol Now, nobody eats that much butter, atleast I hope not, but again, their portions are humongeous!! They have a fountain drink machine in the dining area so you help yourself to drinks, but don't over do it, the bathrooms are tiny! There are few places where you can get incredible food at an incredible price! Sweetie and I had been working and chasing all day. Came here as we knew we could get generous portions. So generous in fact we decided to split a Lasagna dinner with a second salad. $15 The salads were full on dinner salads. Primarily iceburg lettuce but plenty of it. Cucumber, tomatoes, black olives, onions. Drinks are serve yourself with free refills. Bread loaf, 6 inches and warm w butter. Lasagna, good thing we split one!! 2 of us are our fill and boxed up for home, over half of the meal. The pasta was thick and cooked just right. Plenty of meat and cheese, not all red sauce. I really really like this place. First, the portions are almost laughably huge. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that they use a whole regular sized box of pasta for each plate of spaghetti. In fact, they have to layer the sauce and noodles to ensure even distribution. One plate could easily feed 3 people. The price is right too, at 10 bucks per entree. I found the meat sauce to be a little bland. In fact, everything there is just a little bland. It isn't the best Italian I've ever eaten, but it certainly isn't the worst, and for a small town like Keyser, it is golden. I think you can expect a good, solid meal there at any time- but don't count on it to be the best meal you've ever eaten. Also, the staff is very friendly. That being said, I have to drive quite far to get there, and I find it very inconvenient that there is nowhere to change my baby when we get there or before we leave. I had to go to Walmart to do that. The bathrooms are also a little weird. If you're a local it doesn't matter that much, I suppose, but I found it troublesome to have to unload my baby, eat, load her up again, drive half a mile (if that) to Walmart, unload her, change her, and load her again. I would have changed her in the backseat, but it was pouring the rain. Definitely worth a visit if you're nearby. read more

When you walk in you order at the counter and then go sit down while your food is being prepared. After ordering one meal for each of us, the five of us sat down. It was only then that we looked around and realized the massive portions that this restaurant gives you! So, when they started to bring our food out, we were 100% the entertainment for the entire restaurant! The locals, staff, and us had a great laugh at the challenge placed before us. The experience wasn't anything to get excited about. They have an odd ordering system for dining in. You order at the counter and give them your name. Then when they have a table ready, they call you. This wasn't necessarily bad, and I was seated fairly quickly. But then I waited for the food. And waited. And waited. Salad came out. Dressing in a sealed to go 2oz cup with a lid. It was ok. Bread came out next. Tasted like a store bought roll. But I waited about an hour for my food. I ordered the chicken parm. And had been told the portions were huge. By the time it finally got to me, they weren't kidding. My guess is there was about a pound of pasta on top of 2 chicken breasts. A very large meal indeed. But I couldn't get past the flavor. The sauce was very sweet. It literally tasted like a Stouffers microwave lasagna I ate recently. I think I ate about half to 2/3 of one of the chicken breasts and stopped. I doubt I'll go back. If I'm ever in town again. But if you do go, you'll have large portions and nice staff. The largest pasta dinner sized serving of any restaurant I have ever been to. The breadsticks are excellent - they appear to be deep fried, although I am not sure. They are to die for - a meal in itself. The pizza is also excellent, although a carry out order takes almost an hour - so call ahead. There is extremely limited seating. You order at the counter and when your food is ready, they will seat you. A bit strange - but the food makes up for it. I would highly suggest they find a larger dining room, soon! They say the portions are huge and they weren't lying. We decided to get takeout here on a Tuesday. It's currently Saturday and it took 6 people that many days to finish 3 dishes. Ok that's a bit of a stretch... there were some other meals (ie Christmas dinner) mixed in between. Though I was seriously blown away at how large the servings were. If you live anywhere in the region it's worth the drive and you could eat one dish for lunch for an entire week. The service was polite and friendly. Also, the interior of the place was charming. I would give 5 stars but can't rate the overall dining experience since we had our order to go. It did take a while for our order to be completed after we arrived and we called ahead about 30 minutes in advance. The dining room is tiny and the parking is limited. We stopped in for a late afternoon lunch. As usual the place is packed, which it only takes a few people to pack the place because seating is limited. It was very noisy and we always feel rushed to eat and get out so others can be seated. This is really the only complaint, because the food is delicious. If they had more seating and less noise it would definitely be a 5 rating. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. There is enough to last me 2 more meals at home. The salad was fresh; however, contained a couple pieces of the "stalk." I hate when the bad parts of the lettuce are included. If they would use something besides iceberg lettuce it would be much better. I have been to Italy and never once had iceberg lettuce in a salad. My dining partner got the lasagna. It was also large and tasty. The service was good even though they were swamped. We had 3 or 4 different servers during our meal. The spaghetti is just $9.95 for a XXXL portion. I have loved this place since i was a little girl going there after church on Sundays, the service is great and the food is very large portions so you have plenty of leftovers. They do close during a certain time of the year because some of the original owners would go to see some family in Italy during that time and i'm not sure if that's still the reason now or if it's just tradition. I especially like the appetizer bread sticks because they are perfectly baked and the sauce just pulls it together, it is small but so isn't the town so i don't see an issue with it and i love they're whole decor theme! I love Castiglia's! I drove 2 hours each way this past weekend to get takeout from there . It's just that good!! I was disappointed that I couldn't get pizza, but life happens. Instead I ordered manicotti florentine, meatballs and ravioli . I got two very fresh salads and bread with it . I also ordered a cannoli . I was very happy with everything . I don't go often because of the distance , but I definetly will go again. The staff is so polite and super helpful/ friendly as well!! read more
