I rarely leave negative reviews and this one is mixed. We really wanted to love it here. We were greeted by a friendly host who sat us right away. We mentioned it was our Anniversary and they let us choose our table (and gave us dessert on the house:) Our server was outstanding. I believe her name was Helena. She was so friendly and attentive!!! Unfortunately our meals were just ok. My husband ordered the prime rib which was cooked to temp but not very flavorful or tender. I ordered crab cakes that tasted a little off. So ended up not eating much. The apple cobbler we chose for our anniversary desert was delicious! That was the best part of the meal! I had Read positive reviews prior to visiting and really hoped we were going to love it. maybe they were having an off night in the kitchen? Not sure we will try it again though. read more

This is definitely the best place we are while near Deep Creek. The baked cheese and escargot were amazing starters. The duck was delicious- I got the sweet potatoes instead of rice which was a great call because they were amazing. The Brussel sprouts are also great- a good combo of sweet and spicy. read more

Old and quaint restaurant with park like grounds. It was our first time visit to Stonecroft, celebrating our 53rd wedding anniversary. This place offered a varied menu from sandwiches and sides too steaks and seafood. It was crabcakes and scallops for us. Yum! The staff was friendly and warm and the chef visited our table. Outstanding! This was our first time at Stonecroft Manor and we were thoroughly satisfied with the ambience, friendly and responsive service, quality of food and beverage options and the value. This a historic house that has been a number of restaurants over the years. Regardless the menus have been good, service is always great and the food tasty. You certainly don't feel like you're eating fast food or just any place...it has a touch of being upper-scale; must be the antiques and stairs though we ate on the screened porch. It was hard picking off the menu but decided on the, Chicken Chesapeake sandwich, grilled chicken with a huge crab cake, bacon and cheddars cheese; my side was a house salad for $18. My eggs Benedict were prepared perfectly, and the homemade hollandaise was a nice balance of lemon and buttery silkiness. My daughter got the day's special -- chicken and waffles -- another winner. Airy Belgian waffles, local maple syrup and crispy chicken breasts. The setting is gorgeous, with tables on the glassed-in porch or the patio overlooking a tree-shaded lawn. Don't waste your time, money, and energy if you're a person of color dining here if your waitress is Brittany. She was extremely rude and prejudice towards my family. She didn't want to help us when we were dissatisfied with our steak and said "I don't know what the big deal is" and said "we were wasting their time." As soon as we finally got the manager Amy, she was so nice and actually helped us resolved the issue. I've never felt so dismissed in my life at a restaurant, extremely unprofessional for Brittany to do this to us. Will never be dining here again. read more

This is the best meal I have had in a long time. I got the Chicken Chesapeake, the Gouda Arancini balls and the French onion soup. Delicious! This place is under new management and has a new chef. I've been coming to Deep Creek my entire life and have had many good meals but this has to be top 3 meals. In addition the server Patrick was excellent. I highly recommend this place. What was supposed to be a night of celebration and joy quickly became a nightmare thank to the server name Brittany. A cozy and elegant restaurant was home to the most disrespectful, condescending, rude and dismissive server that made my sister's birthday dinner a nightmare. To hear "why did you even come here" "this is a waste of our time" was truly a dehumanizing experience, and though the other staff did seem kind and helpful but the multiple insults, compliments of Brittany, felt very Jim crow era. The biggest pro for me is the old historic building. You can't get ambiance like that anywhere else around here. It's well taken care of too. The food under the new management is the best it's ever been. They always have exciting specials and I almost always try them. I've not been disappointed yet. We had a delicious meal at Stonecroft. The cocktails were well made. The beet salad was lovely and well presented. I had the salmon which was very good. Hubby had the surf and turf special, also excellent. Our waitress was great and told us the place is under new management since Feb '24. Food was beyond amazing, the staff were amazingly friendly, even laughed at a couple of our jokes. Recommended what we get and even gave a discount for "being such good customers". I've read other reviews of this place and they just don't sit right with me. I've been to Stonecroft Manor several times and never have I had a single negative experience. The refills on drinks always come when I want one without having to ask and the food is always cooked properly. The setup of this restaurant is also very cozy and comfortable. read more

We were here a few weeks ago and we're pretty disappointed. I called to find out if they took reservations and I had to call 4 times before someone answered. While they didn't take reservations, I asked the last time they sat people and they said as long as orders are into the kitchen by 8:45pm, they would seat you. We got there around 8pm and the order went in around 8:20. We ordered drinks (my partner was told they couldn't make him his drink because they didn't place an order for one of the ingredients), an app and two entrees. Because we chose soup as one of the sides for each of our entrees, the waitress (who was very nice) said the app would come first, then the soups, then the entrees. The app came out, and about 3 minutes later the soups came, and about 3 more minutes later the entrees came out. So all of our food was out at the same time. My entree (the lamp pops with the asparagus) was cold and felt like it had been sitting in the kitchen for a while, and my partner said the white wine pasta sauce felt like it came from the jar but was not very good. All and all we did not have a great experience besides a lovely waitress and the outdoor porch space was beautiful. Maybe we'll try again in a few months after it's been open and gotten its feet wet. read more

When it's good, it is very, very good. But when they're having an off day, which they do, both the service and the food can be disappointing. We've had great dinners here. We've also had dinners we ended up, apologizing for to our guests. I can't explain the inconsistency, but I know it has nothing to do with how busy they are. The hostess sat us and the vent for the AC was right under the table. We asked to move and was seated in the other room. Then we sat for 20 minutes. The hostess sat people 10 feet away and rushed back to their table with water and just walked past our table (no water at our table). After 20 minutes of sitting there the hostess sat another group and before they were done sitting down the waitress came over and took their order. We got up and left and when we said something the hostess just smiled. We have eaten here before and the food is nothing to brag about but with this type of service we will never be back. read more

Despite mixed reviews, we gave it a shot. My party ordered a variety of items. Creamy pesto Alfredo....low on flavor. Crabcakes... call them MD style if you will...the cook must be from Louisiana. Shrimp scampi...was dry and lacking overall. Lots of shrimp and no flavor. The cream of crab soup was an orangish color and separating. The crab topped mushrooms were fairly ok aside from being greasy. The crab dip was the best overall from the things we tried. They made some yummy garlic bread which was brought to our table long after the soup was gone. I played it safe and ordered a burger. I kept it simple and asked for grilled onions, cheese, ketchup and mayo. The burger cane out with toppings I specified to omit, and the ketchup was not provided. Before she left the table I asked for ketchup. I asked a few more times before it was ice cold. After 30 minutes when my party was done their food I asked for a manager to have it taken off the bill since it was cold and I still did not have ketchup. No apologies. Just excuses that she had some big parties. If that was actually a manager, that explains the performance of the overall service. Stephanie left the table piled up throughout the meal could not be bothered with taking away empty glasses, salad dishes and appetizer plates. We could not get refills on our drinks and when two people in my party did they were not what they were drinking. Asked for the correct drinks which never came. Our intent had been to celebrate the last day of our vacation and my husband's birthday. I can tell you that I will never go there again. My recommendation is that you learn from my experience and dine elsewhere. read more

This was a lovely historic building and the history we were told was so interesting. But I must say our food was a disappointment. There were six of us in our party. The Wellington was so overcooked it couldn't be eaten. The chicken Marsala sauce was delicious but the chicken was so rubbery, again inedible. There did not seem to be enough wait staff for the few tables that were there, you could see they were hurrying to try to satisfy each guest but were unsuccessful. We were so looking forward to this meal! You don't mind paying good money for good food but this was not it. We will not return, there are many other great venues in the area! read more

Went on a Tuesday night. Was seated in the covered indoor expansion area. The house looks nice from the roadway. We waited for someone to come to our table for a drink order. The restaurant was not that busy with only 6 tables occupied. It appeared that only two waitresses were working this night. Finally after 10 minutes our waitress arrived and took our order for drinks and food. We waited over 1 hour to get our food. I suppose the cook was working by himself. The food came out and it was just ok. Salmon was over cooked and only 5 ounces when the menu said 8 ounces. Seafood Pasta wasn't great. Just ok. The best food was the asparagus: tasty and seasoned right. The Caesar Salad was wilted and brown. Bottom line is this restaurant charges Premium prices and it is no where near a premium Restaurant. I won't be back. I wish there were a couple nice restaurants in Oakland to patronize. Stonecroft doesn't cut it. read more
