    12 bowling lanes

We drove here from our ski cabin in Davis, WV to give the kids some diversion. From the minute we walked in, everyone on the staff was bending over backwards to give us info and help us out. Nice, nice people! Tuesdays 12-5 are $2 Tuesdays, so each game is $2 instead of $3.79. My daughter forgot socks, but they had them for just $1.50, which is very reasonable given that some places charge a lot because you're in a desperate situation. The alleys, equipment and seating are all new. They have screens above the alleys showing a variety of channels. They have arcade games that give tickets a la Dave and Busters, plus 2 pool tables and air hockey. Table games are $5/half hour. The kids have been doing it all and are very happy! The menu is limited to "bar food" - fried appetizers, burgers, wings, pizza, popcorn, cookies. We had fried pickles - yum! - sweet potato waffle fries - crispier and drier than I like mine- and a hamburger. They have soda, coffee and tea, beer in bottles, glasses and pitchers (Blue Moon, Sam Adams, Yuengling, Coors Light on draught) plus red and white sangria. Service was fast, but the place was pretty empty so not sure how they do with a crowd. The staffing level was high, though, so I bet they handle it all with a smile. Seating for at least 60 in the cafe area, plus 4 seats at a table for every bowling alley. Note that they have leagues several evenings each week and they fill the lanes - call first if you want to bowl. Great place to spend some time away from the slopes or lake.

    Minion-y-goodness!

Recent years have brought us to trampoline parks, laser tag, mini golf, go karts, and this year we tried bubble soccer for the first time. I'M SO GLAD WE DID! The indoor field house means that you don't have to worry about your game getting rained out. The facility and equipment is brand new and in perfect condition. Chris the owner, was friendly, organized, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. He took us through a variety of bubble games we could play (listed on their site) that ranged from king of the ring style games where you'd try to bump your opponent out of bounds, to President, where each team is trying to protect their president from being knocked over (like capture the flag with people). We tried bumper soccer too, but all of us actually preferred the other games more, just because the soccer ball is a little hard to see and get to, while you're in your big bubble. My group of about 20 all played hard, got a great workout, had a great time, and made it through without any injuries. The birthday package includes drinks and pizza. If you've ever wanted to sprint full force and your friend and knock them over, without risking injury or the friendship, C-Side will make your dreams come true!

Disclaimer: this review is from the perspective of a parent of a youth hockey player…read more This is a nice arena with a great snack bar where you can get made to order hot food and fresh coffee. There is only one sheet of ice but the arena in general is so well maintained and situated in a nice park area that it is hard to give them anything but 5 stars. The lobby area is large with large windows to watch from the warmth of the lobby. There is a very nice snack bar where they make fresh pizza and other grill items like hamburgers and eggs. The coffee isn't the best tasting, but it is fresh and hot - and costs just $1. There are a couple TVs hanging from the walls and a small arcade. I didn't see a pro-shop but they do sell a few items like tape in a vending machine. The lone negative in the lobby is the restrooms. They're dingy and usually dirty when I've been there. The ice rink is very bright. All the lights work and the score board functions properly. They also have a board that displays shots on goal, a nice feature that not all rinks have. A nice thing they do, which no other rink does for amateur hockey and least at the A level, is cut the ice between 2nd and 3rd period. That is an awesome thing. There is a lot of room for the spectators, and the steps are not steep. Very comfortable. This rink doesn't want people to watch along the glass at the corners, and they have put visual obstructions on the glass to discourage people from standing there. They probably have a good reason, but as a parent I often like to stand where I have the best vantage point to see him play and hopefully get action pictures. They have a large parking lot too. With the nice amenities for parents, this is a good venue for tournament games, or any activity that requires you to spend time here waiting, This is a rink that I always look forward to coming to.

Edwards Community Aquatic and Recreation Complex at Garrett College. It's a full set of athletic facilities. We focussed on the kid's pool. It's at the end of the large lap pool. We spent most of our time in the 2ft-8in-deep shallower somewhat-separate section of the kids' pool, which the younger children (and their parents) were more comfortable in. The 3-year-olds entered via a long ramp, and made forays from the separate stairs to practice short swims to their parents. By the end of an hour, they were bravely taking swims in the middle of that shallow area. The 7-year-old swam happily end-to-end there, and then accompanied an adult into the larger deeper main 4ft-3in-deep section of the kids' pool. And at the end, we turned on the jacuzzi-like bubbling in the shallow section, much to everyone's delight! A grand finale! Most of us stayed with the kids, though one or two, swam some laps in the adjacent adult pool. The cost was quite reasonable! $15 for one adult, or $30 for four. Seniors and teens $10, younger $5, below 6-yrs-old for $2. On weekends, there's hours when it's only $6 per person! You pay at a small desk just inside the entrance, just past the Amazon delivery lockers and the shelf of shared books to read. We all burned off excess energy before dinner. And we saw a beaver in the grassy area on the right as we turned north on Garrett Highway afterwards! A perfect afternoon!
