The views are phenomenal and the rooms were super clean and comfortable. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. The western ambiance is spot on, and they even offer horseback riding for beginners and novice riders, which made it easy (and fun) for everyone to try. Breakfast was delicious, the bar is a great spot to wind down, and Saturday night they had an amazing live band that made the whole place come alive. Great people, great vibes, incredible views, and a really fun experience all around. Highly recommend if you want a little western adventure.

I booked a two-hour Train Trestle & Petroglyph ride for my family for which I received a…read moreconfirmation email and then a reminder email the day before giving vague directions on how to get to the horse area where we would be met by our guide. The email stated that we should arrive 15 minutes early and be prepared to pay cash. When we arrived, the road was not marked in any way and we apparently stayed too far to the left and ended up down the wrong path. Fortunately, Red saw us and came on his ATV and helped us get back on the correct road. Red also contacted the person who was supposed to be giving us the tour who apparently had "looked at the wrong date" so there was no one ready to take us on the tour. Red had a hay truck coming and was going to try to take us on the tour himself, but after over an hour of waiting, we decided not to proceed as we had other activities planned for the day and Red was still unloading the hay. To their credit, Red did try to help and was a very nice person. We were contacted by the company to try to reschedule but we were only in the area for a short period and already had activities scheduled for the rest of our time in AZ. It looks as though they have some interesting plans for this business, but it does not seem to be organized yet. When I called the number, the voice message was from December, talking about being closed for the Holidays and opening in January - so obviously not updated. If you are thinking of using this company, I would recommend that you contact them the day before and speak to someone to be sure they will have a guide there to take your group on the ride. I mistakenly assumed since they had sent me an email that they would be ready.

I contacted the ranch directly and their attention to my questions and assurances about traveling as a solo woman was what sold me. It was everything they said it would be and more. The ranch only accommodates a small number of guests so it is an intimate experience. Your happiness is the goal of the hosts; owners Ron & Trina Sirota and their manager Renee. This place is the real deal. It is no frills but comfortable with a focus on riding and an appreciation of the terrain and culture. The horses are happy and amazing. I am not a total beginner but I'm certainly not experienced so I appreciated the daily guidance and the subsequent lesson I took with Trina. Hideout Ranch is all about riding, and their horses are fabulous. Head Wrangler, and Owner, Craig Lawson carefully hand-selected our mounts to suit our riding experience. He knows his horses, that's for sure! Each morning, after our home-cooked, hearty breakfast (cooked over an open fire, with plenty of piping hot coffee,) we loaded our horses and trailered out to a new destination. Each new day welcomed us to a wonderful new adventure. The area surrounding the ranch is chock-full of American history. During our stay, we rode to Horseshoe Canyon, Fort Bowie, the Chiricahua National Monument, and, on our last day, rode right off the ranch property into Owl Canyon. Each ride was more spectacular than the one before it. The scenery and terrain changed dramatically from ride to ride, and the horses took it all in stride. We had the opportunity to ride in places most Americans only read about in history books or watch in Western movies. Hideout Ranch owners, Craig and Tamara J.
