Brown Canyon Ranch is a very popular local hang-out all times of day. Retirees walk here early in…read morethe mornings, then come the mountain bikers, and then the hikers, runners, equestrians. Weddings and Senior pics are also popular. Day use is now $8. There is a restroom and several picnic areas by the pond to sit back and relax. To avoid the fee, park off Ramsey Canyon Road and walk the 0.8 mile to the ranch house. My hiking group does weekly loop hikes in Brown Canyon. The ranch house is open during daylight. The pond is a habitat for the endangered Chiricahua Leopard Frog. There are several trails that start at the ranch house. The Brown Canyon trail is a four-mile trail that one can take into Ramsey Canyon. The Garden Connector trail, which begins off the Buffalo Soldier Trail and SR92, ends here. The Brown Canyon Loop trail also starts here, although it's not marked. Just make sure you turn left at the horse trough two miles into the hike. This is a 4.6-mile loop. Just watch out for speeding mountain bikers. There is also a 1.5-mile Nature Trail loop with a duck pond. Dogs are allowed on these trails, but must be leashed. This place can get busy on the weekends. Watch out for rattlesnakes, javelina, coyote and deer.

There's a tiny duck pond on the walking path and a small bench to rest and take in the beautiful scenery. Pet's are welcome as long as you clean up after them to preserve the walking path. Watch out for snakes and other little critters.

It's been a pretty dry year, so not much water in the stream, but still lots of birds, deer, and squirrels. We didn't see any frogs, but apparently they are there too. We hiked up the hill. It's a pretty challenging walk up to the top. We only made it to a nice viewpoint along the path. There's benches along the way to take breaks at. Overall, it's a pretty place to visit.

This is a fairly new museum recently assembled in the Annex Building across the street from The…read moreBuffalo Soldier Museum. For over 50 years Fort Huachuca has been the home to the world's largest unmanned aircraft systems training facility, as well, it has been a critical national asset in support of the Army's Unmanned Aerial Systems because of its restricted airspace and abundant training resources. They train Soldiers and Marines to fly and maintain a variety of UAVs. The museum has a number of small unmanned drones on display, that were tested at the Fort, as well as some of the cameras and GPS systems that were tested and used years ago in training. There is also a model of the UAS control simulator that was used for training pilots. The Fort is the primary training facility for all UAS Soldiers. If you have the time there is a small theatre down in front, with handicap access, where you will find chairs and a table to sit and watch video or read some of the books that are available there. This is a must see museum while visiting the Fort. It is located just across the parking lot from the Buffalo Soldiers Museum and an easy short walk. There is no charge to visit.

My father was a civilian guard as part of the maintenance folk that lived on the fort. When it reopened he worked in procurement and was a contracting officer for the "bis red" drone. It was being long-distance tested between Fort Huachuca and USAYPG (us army Yuma Proving Ground!) The unmanned aerial vehicle has come a long way even into child play!! The museum has examples of the evolution of the UAV!

It is worth walking to the museum if for no other reason to take a selfie with the building in the background - it is truly a gem. The inside has old creaky stairs and lots of memorabilia - it generally takes us almost hours to make it through everything. Don't miss the gallows out back (see photo). The museum does not focus on the shootout, so if you are looking for a ton of stuff from that you might be disappointed, though there is a small exhibit that describes the events of the day. Worth the stroll a block off main street and the price of admission.

There was an employee who asked us what service we needed. We told him we needed a title transfer for my late sister's vehicle. He checked to see if I had the paperwork they needed, and then gave us the green light to move forward. Vivian called us to her desk. We told her we needed a title transfer and we handed over our driver's license, death certificate, court appointment personal rep papers, and title to the vehicle. She had to consult on this case. She came back and guided us through the process. We hit another spot were she needed another consult. She came back with the solution and we moved forward. We were able to transfer the vehicle into my parent's name. We spent approximately 30 minutes to get this done. Business picked up, so I was glad we got there when we did. I was very pleased with the efficiency and kindness of this office.

***Please note this review is only of the structure, though lodging is available, as well.***…read more We just had to stop along Fremont Street on our way out of town to visit this structure that purportedly housed Wyatt Earp for a time during his residency in Tombstone. If so, any Earps on the porch during the McLaury/ Clanton funeral procession may have, indeed, seen the hearses pass by on their way to Boot Hill. (The type of collision between cinematic fiction and historical lore that I just love to ponder.) The modest structure and grounds are in good repair and match well with similar little dwellings throughout the area. Adjacent to the house is a statue of Tombstone's most famous lawman surrounded by a low wrought iron fence. The property itself is enclosed by another white picket fence, and there's even a horse perpetually hitched in the front yard. (A tribute to Wyatt's racing horse, Dick Naylor?) Barriers do not impede visitors' ability to view or photograph the space in its entirety from multiple angles. If you have visited Tombstone, you know that high walls or barriers obstruct many attractions from those unwilling to pay a fee (i.e. the O. K. Corral gunfight site, Rose Tree Museum, Bird Cage Theatre, etc.); this is free! Apparently, the house can be booked as lodging accommodations, so I doubt there are any public tours due to interior modernization and the comfort of guests. For this reason, I appreciate the proprietor's willingness to accommodate the history buffs and looky loos (like myself) that undoubtedly trudge around the site's periphery daily. It's a nice little quick-stop with some exceptional photo opportunities.

So cute, so clean, comfy beds,…read morehas small bottles of shampoo, liquid body soap, conditioner, towels, and all the essentials you need to clean, cook, etc. Private parking, gated, and we meet the lady who was cleaning the house. She was very nice. I do recommend this place if you're ever in Tombstone, AZ.
